In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL] -
Chapter 121: Confession
Chapter 121: Confession
Rise could not help but rub his chest and pursed his lips. He could still remember him. The first person that made him humbled... that bastard. Rise clenched his teeth at the memory.
After recounting her terrible experience and crying to her exhaustion, Sheena fell asleep again. Rise also did not urge her and let her take a rest.
"It’s probably a high-ranking noble," Rise muttered, although his voice sounded certain. He lifted his gaze, meeting Kamille’s. "Guild Leader... Are you up for hunting a rare monster?" A cold smile then appeared on his lips.
And Rise did not have to ask Kamille twice; he did not even need to ask. Kamille nodded his head; the anticipation was clearly visible in them.
Rise finally let out a laugh at that. He knew how much his Guild Leader got so excited whenever a noble was mentioned, especially if hunting them.
He took a deep breath. Although he had no idea how a noble, a noble Count at that, had managed to leave his den, which was a gate, Rise did not have the time to investigate or care.
He was more bothered by the fact that this monster showed his presence this early. Rise felt like... what he was fearing was happening. Everything was going to be messed up, even if it was not, and some coincidence... He had to think that way.
It seemed checking on his underlings was necessary. This time... He could finally get wild. Both reason and support, he had that now. Rise did not need to restrain himself because he was not sure of the possible consequences.
Rise turned his head and looked at the sleeping Thalia. He reached out, planning to touch her hand, but midway he stopped.
"Aren’t you curious, Guild Leader?" Rise asked, fixing his gaze to Thalia. He was aware that Kamille’s attention had always been with him. He also did not know to clarify what this was, for he knew that the other could understand him.
"I’ve always been."
At this answer, Rise laughed, finding the situation quite funny. Of course, he was aware of it too.
Rise licked his lips, turning to the side. "You know, Guild Leader."
"Hmm?"
Rise suppressed his smile, but he ultimately did not manage to do it and smiled. "You’re very considerate."
"Am I?" Kamille sounded confused, as though he did not agree.
Again, Rise laughed. It was always these simple things that managed to make him amused. Or perhaps, it was because this person was Kamille.
"Yup, you are." Rise nodded, tone exaggerated. "I’m suspicious; my actions are," Rise admitted, which had always been a topic since they met in this lifetime.
"I know." Kamille also never stopped answering this line, as both knew that Kamille was aware of his suspicious ways. This was the more ridiculous part, though.
Rise did not laugh this time; he only stared at him so deeply. In fact, in this life, he was not the one who was suspicious; Kamille was also one.
He had been ignoring the suspicious points though, but he felt like asking this time.
"Then, why? Why are you tolerating my presence?"
Rise was curious as well. Their progress seemed too good to be true. He did know why he wanted to probe suddenly; perhaps he had become sensitive after what happened to Thalia and the changes that were happening before him.
Kamille did not seem surprised by the question and only leaned at his seat. "I’m quite curious as well."
"Curious to what?" Rise tilted his head, puzzled. Was that his answer?
This time, Kamille also took a deeper look at him, his gaze seemingly searching for something.
"Yes," he nodded. "I’m curious as to why... I tolerate you this much."
Basically, he did not know the answer to that question yet. Was it because Rise was his personal Guide, a Guide that had perfect combatibility with him?
Was it because Rise was actually the one that interested him so much?
However, he was actually thinking of the extreme side of his. Even that side did not hate Rise’s existence.
Rise blinked, staring deeply at his Guild Leader, processing that answer. He did not know?
"Wow, that’s a very Kamille answer." Rise chuckled, ignoring the slight surprise in Kamille’s gaze from his directly calling his name than usual. "I can give you a clue."
Rise also did not know the answer; that was why he asked, but that did not stop him from being shameless and giving his own speculation.
Kamille did not ask, waiting for him to finish.
Rise smiled, leaning to the seat, finally easing now, and he also felt quite drowsy. Was this like when he was drunk? Oh wait, Rise did not drink alcohol much, so he never got drunk.
Few seconds passed before Rise managed to let out what he wanted to say. It took this much since he was also considering if he needed to voice out this obviously absurd clue, but since Kamille was waiting, he had to do so.
Oh, wow, he felt his cheeks becoming hotter. Giving a silly grin, he gave a wink.
"Maybe... You like me." As soon as he finally said those out loud, Rise evaded his gaze and rubbed his face. Damn, that was embarrassing for some reason.
He was kind of scared to see Kamille’s expression to what he said, and so he could only close his eyes, wanting the sudden shame to fade. All his courage was already poured on those words, and now he was feeling drowsy.
He did not sleep yesterday, so that was expected at least. Or... He was just escaping in the form of sleep?
Anyway... He already said that, so...
As he became drowned by his mind because of that one silly clue he made up because he wanted to still try out his luck, Kamille suddenly gave a response that immediately shook him.
He snapped to the side, opening his eyes widely.
Kamille was still staring at him after saying those words.
"It’s possible."
Rise repeated those words in his mind, his gaze never leaving Kamille.
"What do you mean?" Rise asked... cautiously. His drowsiness suddenly left him. His heart was beating so hard, he even forgot where he was now.
No, maybe this was an illusion.
As though wanting to take revenge for all the time that he made the other think. Kamille only gave a meaningful smile.
"You can guess... of what they mean."
Kamille himself did not know... He only knew... It was a possible conclusion.
"Fuck." Rise could not help but cover his moth with both hands; his heart was pounding so hard in his chest. This got to be a dream or...
"Are you confessing, Guild Leader?" Rise’s mood was like a chaotic mess, so was his mind. Like, he was just so furious not long ago, and now he was like on cloud nine.
Maybe his insanity was truly on another level. No... This was not insanity. Why would loving Kamille be called insanity?
Kamille’s throat moved; he did not answer for a moment as though teasing Rise. Then finally gave a small smile after being stared at by Rise’s anticipating gaze.
"I’m not," Kamille answered honsetly, shaking his head.
And just as Rise’s mood began to plummet, his dream becoming shattered again, Kamille’s voice resounded again.
"This is not a good place..." Kamille pointed at the bed where Thalia was sleeping and the others. "...to confess."
And just like that, Rise’s mind had finally shortcircuited. He lay limp at the chair and closed his eyes.
Damn, this is not good for my heart. This sudden turn of events... was quite wild.
Silence then stretched between the two of them. Rise almost fell asleep. Well, that was a lie. He could not sleep at all after that. He opened his eyes; his heart skipped a beat.
As soon as he opened his eyes, he managed to make eye contact with Kamille since the other was still staring at him.
The silence made him calm down. Rise did not break the eye contact, and instead he smiled sweetly.
"Just wait, Guild Leader."
Kamille’s brow rose at that as if to inquire.
Rise giggled. "After this is resolved..." He squinted his eyes; desire filled his eyes. "Let’s test it... how far you can tolerate me." A naughty smile lingered on his lips and glinted in his eyes.
Kamille paused, not saying anything, but his gaze turned a shade darker.
Testing it... How would they test it?
Rise did not clarify, and Kamille did not ask.
This diversion truly helped Rise calm down, although it nearly made him a heart attack since even until this moment his heart was still pounding.
It could not be helped; Rise needed distraction, and it just so happened that Kamille was a very effective one, fully capable of occupying his mind and attention.
His plans for the next few days were then set.
The first part... could commence. Rise closed his eyes and let the sleep overcome him.
On Earth, at a small yellow zone in the north.
"Is this the place?" Someone asked the taller man, holding a huge detector.
The taller man looked up, and then at the screen of the detector, he nodded.
"This is the place."
The men behind him became alert and embraced themselves under the thick coat. Slowly the group entered the place where the detector led them.
Rise had left a very important mission.
"Acquire the item inside the gate at all costs."
This time, Rise would monopolize a revolutionary item...
The very first teleportation gate.
It was his now.
