Chapter 118: Rude Brat

In the end, the two decided to first clean the monster groups a few kilometers from the Lionheart City. This would also decrease the burden on the city.

Wherever the two passed by, wave after wave of monsters were crushed to the ground while some monsters were sliced into thin strips as the wind sharply brushed past them.

The two were like a walking disaster for the monsters as they fled in terror. A loud laughter would occasionally resound in the air as the monsters created a comical sight.

They were now the ones escaping with their might, which was once invading the city.

This did not resolve the root cause of the issue, since new monsters would come, attracted by the mana waves that the unmeasured gate was releasing.

Unknowingly, they found themselves miles away doing that. Where exactly? That was not exactly a problem at all. Instead of hurrying to get back, Rise’s mood only rose; he turned to his Guild Leader.

This was a time to be alone, finally! There were no cubs to look after to! Just the two of them, the way Rise likes it.

"Guild Leader, let’s come down." He pointed at the ground, smiling sheepishly. "Flying here isn’t exciting enough."

Okay, he lied. It was also exciting, and what was more, he could cling tightly to Kamille. However, the downside was... They might return immediately after.

Kamille did not have any complaints as well; he only looked at Rise for a few seconds but did not say anything more. They then quickly descended to the ground; the few monsters that were around were smashed to the ground without them knowing who killed them.

Rise did not instantly release Kamille’s hand as he looked around.

"It’s desolate," Rise commented, his gaze showing some disappointment.

Kamille also swept his gaze around, finding the place also devoid of any excitement value for Rise. While there were monster groups here and there, they were of lower ranks, not even capable enough to stand in Rise’s forcefield.

"Well, we can just find a gate!" Rise thought of this brilliant plan before naturally turning his gaze to his Guild Leader, as though asking for his opinion.

Kamille also did not have any opinion about that, and so the two then began their journey to find any gates around.

"Are we unlucky, Guild Leader?" Rise asked, his hand waved as a huge body of a monster collapsed in front of him; it then created a massive crater before him, but as usual, his body did not even have any blood stains from it.

At some point, he already stopped clinging to Kamille since both truly entered the combat state. While looking for a gate, they did encounter some higher-ranking monsters, but... For some reason, they did not find any gate!

Kamille also frowned slightly, removing his sword from the monster’s eyes and standing at its head. He lowered his gaze and looked at Rise.

"Do you not know anything?"

At this question, Rise almost choked. Did he look like someone who was omniscient? Sure, he was sometimes, but that was only his future knowledge!

"I should be the one asking you that, Guild Leader." Rise smiled; this smile though did not look sweet or genuine at all, instead annoyed.

Between them, who had the ability to almost be omniscient?

Kamille’s expression showed surprise upon seeing Rise’s attitude. Slowly, his lips hooked up. Holding his sword, he sheathed it and jumped, landing before Rise.

"It’s the first time." Kamille suddenly spoke, showing a rare expression.

"What first time?" Rise tilted his head, leaning at the monster’s massive body.

Kamille stepped closer; his body instantly covered Rise’s. Although Rise was not that small in terms of height, Kamille was undeniably taller than he was.

He lifted his chin slightly and looked up; he did not move from his position though.

"The first time I saw you annoyed." Kamille said it like this was truly a surprising event; even his gaze looked brighter.

Annoyed? He was?

Rise did not think he was annoyed.

"I’m not annoyed, though," Rise denied, his expression not changing.

Kamille squinted his eyes slightly.

"You are."

Rise frowned, thinking of what Kamille was saying.

"Oh, that?" Rise remembered that he sounded sarcastic earlier. He let out a chuckle and directly faced Kamille. "I’m just saying the truth."

Kamille’s expression also remained amused. He reached out and touched Rise’s chin.

"It’s still the first time." Kamille whsipered, his fingers caressing Rise’s chin, lifting it slightly. "That I heard you with that tone." His brow rose slightly.

Rise found this sudden turn of events particularly interesting and also a stroke of luck.

"What tone?" Rise also hooked his lips; his eyes fluttered faintly.

He knew though. Of course, it was the first time in this life, but he often also used that before. His real personality would also occasionally slip in between them; after all, that was his real nature.

Kamille’s throat moved, his gaze deep. His face then drew closer; at this proximity, Rise’s throat also moved as he subconsciously gulped.

"Like a rude brat," Kamille murmured in such a deep tone that the corner of his lips was lifted, pinching Rise’s chin.

Rise appeared stunned, but only for a moment, as Kamille did not let him think too much before his lips were once again being claimed. Kamille’s emotions seemed too pent up these days after Rise slept for a week and added to the days that they were wiith the party.

His tongue immediately slipped inside as it moved, sucking Rise breathless. In fact, he felt so stimulated for some reason. Maybe... Rise’s attitude roused him?

Rise laughed at these thoughts before his arms naturally hooked up on Kamille’s neck, deepening the kiss.

Their bodies also moved closer until their chests touched. There, beside the dead monster body, the two kissed like there was no tomorrow.

Right, it was a kiss without any pretext of being a guiding session. Rise also did not guide Kamille at all. This was a pure kiss—just a kiss.

"Haah..." Rise breathed after their lips parted slightly, their faces still close and so their bodies.

Kamille stared at him with a hot gaze, licking his red lips. Rise could not help his face from being flushed. Actually, Kamille’s gaze was truly like he wanted to devour Rise whole.

Wait, why did that rude tone truly turn him on? Rise did not know anymore; his knowledge seemed to be overturned!

Looking at Kamille looking at him hungrily, the arousal was evident in his gaze. This seemed to be because of his rude tone, with which Rise could not grasp the logic.

However, Kamille again snapped him out of his thoughts, preventing him from thinking deeper.

"Again..." Kamille licked Rise’s lips, earning a moan as he sucked at Rise’s lips before releasing him again. "You think of me, just me."

Kamille dangerously whispered as he soon devoured Rise’s whole attention once again.

What did he mean by that? Rise always thought of him, just him.

Breathing heavily, Rise closed his eyes as he let his mind wander.

"I can’t understand you," he whispered, burying his face in Kamille’s chest. After minutes of kissing, the other finally let go of his lips, which were now sore. He licked his lips, which still had Kamille’s taste.

Kamille appeared still unsatisfied, but he only embraced him, stroking and brushing Rise’s smooth silver hair.

"What can’t you understand?"

Rise did not answer, but he laughed, his chest moved, and he continued to laugh. Maybe, he was just happy, but he was also clueless?

This life was like a roller coaster from the moment he returned. Everything was like a mess, but a beautiful mess.

’A Rude Brat’

Kamille called him that again.

However, unlike this time, the Kamille of the past would not kiss him so hungrily like stimulated for some reason.

Instead, he would... ignore him coldly all day. Rise closed his eyes at the memory.

"Everything," Rise answered.

Kamille breathed, kissing Rise’s hair gently. A small ghost of a smile appeared as he rested his chin on Rise’s head. He did not say anything though, maybe acknowledging Rise’s words.

Kamille was not someone easily understood. Rise realized that soon enough when he met him the first time.

More so now. The two were the same person, but...

Rise was quite conflicted now; the changes suddenly overwhelmed him.

Like his true nature, sometimes Rise would act like a ’rude brat’ in Kamille’s words.

"Can’t I go?"

One time, Rise protested after Kamille ordered him to go to another city. He did not want to leave.

"You’re helpful to them." Kamille just spoke those words calmly, which even hit another nerve in the already bad mood Rise.

He only sat on the couch, not intending to stand nor obey.

"Am I the only one helpful?" Rise rolled his eyes as he pursed his lips. "If so, we can go together."

Kamille sighed then, brushing his face as he sat at his seat.

"I have something to do."

Rise turned to him and then pouted, dejected. Slowly facing his head, not before glaring at Kamille. He stood up, now intending to leave.

"I will not go back if I go!" He was like a kid throwing a tantrum, but even then, Kamille did not seem to care, which annoyed and hurt him more.

No, more than hurt, he was extremely pissed.

Before leaving the room, holding the handle of the door, he turned his head again to Kamille; this time his gaze was fiercer than ever.

"I’m fucking telling the truth! You’ll see, I’ll hook up to every Esper there!" Rise hissed, and he left, smashing that door so hard it nearly collapsed.

And before he walked away, he stopped for a moment, feeling guilty, but what he heard inside was what made his expression firm, and he walked away with huge strides.

His goal was to hook up to every Esper!

"Rude brat." Kamille had said that inside. And Rise knew that whenever Kamille called him that, the other was annoyed at him, even ignoring and avoding him all day.

Although this mission has failed since... No Esper wanted to approach him. They looked particularly scared, terrified for some reason. Rise, then find out. Kamille bullied him again by telling everyone not to interact with him, isolating Rise from everyone other than the Guides.

So, this life... Rise did not know why Kamille became aroused by his sarcastic tone towards him?
