Imposter Young Master
Chapter 867 - 872: The Bride

Chapter 867: Chapter 872: The Bride

Yang Gang, though he really wanted to knock Jack out and flee, ultimately gave up.

After all, his future wife was a devout Christian, it just seemed a bit too much to beat up a priest in front of her.

There was no helping it; Young Master Yang had to stop.

"Hey, Yang Gang, why is the phone number you left on the part-time contract a fake? Even God you dare deceive, you’ve got some nerve!"

Father Jack was furious.

He had thought he was getting a temp worker so he could slack off, only to find the part-time priest he went through so much trouble to hire had disappeared and never returned.

"What’s going on here? Yang Gang is a priest?" Yang Fei asked curiously.

Jack glanced at Yang Fei and said, "Yes, he swore allegiance to God before the cross."

"Gang, when did you start believing in Christianity?" Bai Ninglu asked curiously.

"Hehehe." Yang Gang scratched his head and, with a stiff face, said, "My wife happens to be a Christian, so I thought if both of us were Christians, we’d probably have more in common."

"Hmm?" Yang Ya, with a chin in hand, chuckled. "I didn’t realize you were so thoughtful, Gang."

Turning to Zhang Miao, she smiled and said, "Miao Miao, you’ve snagged yourself a good husband."

Zhang Miao smiled. She looked at Jack and then said, "Father Jack, is it?"

"Yes."

"You just said my husband is a priest?" Zhang Miao asked.

"Husband??" A perplexed Jack exclaimed, "I’m talking about Father Jason, could you explain? We in the Catholic Church cannot marry!"

Yang Gang smirked, "I belong to the Orthodox Eastern Church where priests can marry."

"But this is a Catholic church.."

"Hey, Father Jack, are you trying to cause a religious schism? The Orthodox Eastern Church and the Catholic Church, aren’t they both part of Christianity? Don’t they both worship God?" Yang Gang argued righteously.

However, deep down, he had no idea who the Christian God was; he only knew of the Jade Emperor from Taoism.

Father Jack knew Yang Gang was spouting nonsense, but he was at a loss for words on how to refute.

"In any case, now that I’ve run into you today, you must fulfill your priestly duties once." Father Jack insisted.

"Ha~" A twitch formed at the corner of Yang Gang’s mouth, "What do you want me to do?"

"Um.." Father Jack thought for a moment, then grinned, "There’s a wedding taking place here. You officiate it."

"What?"

"Officiate the wedding. If you do well, I can void your part-time contract," said Father Jack.

"What will you do?"

"Me? Oh, I have, of course, got things to tend to!" said Father Jack, with a shifty gaze.

Yang Gang broke into an internal sweat, certain the fellow was up to no good.

He thought it over and finally nodded, "Alright then."

"Come with me then; I’ll introduce you to the bride and groom," said Jack.

After greeting everyone, Yang Gang followed Jack into the church.

"Father Jack, we need to confirm the wedding procedure again," a smiling voice rang out.

Yang Gang turned to look; speaking was a beautiful, captivating Western girl in a nun’s habit.

She couldn’t have been much older than twenty, her long blonde hair flowing, completely overturning Yang Gang’s preconceptions about traditional nuns. Her deep blue eyes were like stars, mesmerizing.

"Who is this.." ******** approached, looking at Yang Gang.

"Oh, a pinch-hit host," Jack said.

********’s face darkened slightly: "Father Jack, you’re pulling this stunt again?"

"Uh, no, I really have something else. Come, let me introduce you, this is Father Jason. Although he’s still an intern priest, he’s young and promising. We should give young priests more opportunities to shine."

After Jack finished speaking, he stroked his chin and muttered to himself, "Come to think of it, we priests can’t perform exorcisms or cast out demons. Since God doesn’t actually exist and prayers are useless, the only job left for us is to officiate weddings..."

"Father Jack!" ******** was on the verge of a breakdown.

Is this guy really a priest? Why would someone who doesn’t believe in the existence of God be a priest?

God, have Your eyes been blinded?

"Cough cough, I’m just kidding," Jack said.

******** took a deep breath and then seriously said, "Father Jack, you should know that the couple getting married aren’t ordinary people. To have an intern priest officiate the wedding..."

"I’ll speak to the Lan family about that," Father Jack said with a wave of his hand.

********, feeling helpless, turned to Yang Gang and asked, "Have you ever officiated a wedding before?"

"I’ve hosted class events, and I consider myself quite talented at hosting," Yang Gang boasted with no modesty.

******** smiled: "I’m afraid that won’t do. A wedding host is usually a priest, and although you’re just an intern priest, there’s no problem with your status. However, hosting a wedding is a very solemn affair, and without experience..."

"What does it matter? It’s just a wedding ceremony, not a memorial service. Ashley, remember, a person can get married many times in their life, can enjoy many wedding ceremonies. But a memorial service happens only once in a lifetime. Which is more important?" Father Jack said earnestly.

"Ha~" Although she knew it was fallacious logic, this beauty named Ashley found herself unable to refute it. Even if she knew how to argue back, it probably wouldn’t make any difference.

That shameless Father Jack! It’s just because he fell in love with the bride at first sight and got rejected. This is blatant revenge.

What can be said? As a church nun, Miss Ashley felt very ashamed.

However, the ’mastermind’ Father Jack showed no signs of repentance, still bearing the aggrieved look of a scorned little wife.

As for Yang Gang, he suddenly thought that hosting a wedding might actually be rather interesting.

"This is a crash course in wedding officiation for priests, take a look," Jack casually tossed a booklet to Yang Gang.

Yang Gang’s face fell, "Father Jack, are you saying all your products are hastily made here?!!"

Having quickly flipped through the booklet, Father Jack then said, "Jason, go talk to the bride and groom first. I’ll have Ashley take you."

After finishing, Jack made his escape.

"Ha!" Ashley expressed her frustration.

Yang Gang was also very curious: "Hey, Miss Ashley, why would a super-rich family like the Lan family allow someone as unreliable as Jack to officiate their wedding?"

After thinking for a moment, Ashley replied indifferently, "I don’t really understand the specific reasons. However, I’ve heard that besides being a priest, Jack has another identity. As for what that identity is, I’m not too sure myself. Perhaps the Lan family, who invited Father Jack to officiate, knows something."

"Hmm, I see."

Ashley checked the time, then said, "Shall we rush to meet the bride and groom?"

Yang Gang nodded.

The two of them entered a corridor in the church.

"Where are the bride and groom?" Ashley asked the staff.

"The bride is inside the room; the groom went out just now," the staff member said.

Ashley nodded and then turned to Yang Gang: "Then let’s meet with the bride first."

As Yang Gang pushed open the door and caught a glimpse of the bride getting ready, he was amazed once again.
