Imposter Young Master
Chapter 831 - 835: The Return

Chapter 831: Chapter 835: The Return

Yang Fei had also left Xueji shortly after, returning to Hangcheng first.

Yang Gang, on the other hand, stayed in Xueji for two more days. During these days, he mobilized all intelligence resources to search for Gu Xiaorou’s whereabouts across Xueji, but to no avail.

Carrying regret and unwillingness, Yang Gang also boarded a plane and left Xueji, returning to Hangcheng.

By this time, Hangcheng was deep into winter, with streets lit up and adorned for the New Year, exuding a bustling festive atmosphere.

Unlike international metropolises like Shencheng, most of Hangcheng’s citizens are locals, so the streets are not deserted during the New Year’s holidays; instead, they are even more lively.

When Yang Gang came back, he didn’t inform anyone. It’s not to say that he had never mentioned returning for the New Year.

As for why he came back? He couldn’t explain it himself.

After arriving in Hangcheng, Yang Gang didn’t immediately return to the Yang family, but instead went to a secluded beach.

He wanted to sort out his emotions alone.

The beach Yang Gang was heading to was a treasure spot he had previously discovered, and it was there he had first seen Ye Qingyin’s "Death Lotus."

Upon arrival, Yang Gang was about to advance when he suddenly noticed someone on the quiet and secluded beach.

To be precise, a woman.

Standing on the sand, still washed over by the ebb and flow of the waves at her feet. Her silhouette exuded an inexplicable sense of desolation, stirring a hint of compassion in anyone who saw her.

The distance was far and the light dim, preventing Yang Gang from seeing more clearly. But just from the lone and desolate figure, it was clear the woman was deeply saddened.

Yang Gang quietly stepped back a couple of paces; he certainly didn’t want to intrude into someone’s silent sanctuary while they were lost in thought.

However, just then, from the corner of his eye, Yang Gang suddenly spotted two figures stealthily closing in on the unwitting woman.

"Criminals?" Yang Gang became alert, ready to reveal himself, when the woman seemed to notice the two men and, reacting swiftly, started to run away. Seeing this, the two figures no longer bothered with caution and charged at her like ravenous wolves. The woman was obviously not as fast as the men, and was quickly caught up to, falling onto the beach in the struggle.

"Help!" Realizing she couldn’t break free, the woman started to scream desperately.

Yang Gang froze for a moment at the sound of her voice and then a ferocious look appeared on his face. He sprinted forward like a bloodthirsty beast, his eyes emitting a frightening darkness.

His speed was incredible, leaving a trail of afterimages towards the beach as he ran.

Whoosh, whoosh!

If anyone were close by, they would realize that in the midst of Yang Gang’s running, one simply could not capture his actual figure—his speed was visible proof of that.

By the sea.

"Hmph, your shouting is useless. This isn’t the bustling Half-moon Ring Beach—no one will come. Let brother here enjoy himself," said one of the attackers.

The two attackers were both male, in their twenties, and both were strongly built. One of them had the woman firmly pinned on the beach, while the other looked at her with a lecherous grin.

The woman struggled fiercely, but her mouth was covered, and she could no longer make a sound.

Sensing the obscene intention of the other assailant, her heart filled with peak terror, she violently shook her head and finally, in a flash, managed to free the hand covering her mouth. Using all her strength, she yelled, "Yang Gang, save me!"

Then, tears streamed down her face.

"How could he possibly appear out of nowhere on the beach to save me? Besides, Yang Gang and I are just ordinary friends—why did I think of him in a moment of crisis?" she thought.

One of the attackers, frustrated with her struggling, raised his hand to slap her face.

But his palm, now only a fist’s distance from her cheek, couldn’t move any further—his wrist was suddenly and firmly gripped by a hand.

The attacker turned his head in shock, wondering when this angry young man had approached. Before the attack, he had made sure there was no one around—where did this person come from?

But he had no time to ponder this, as intense pain radiated from his wrist. He couldn’t help but howl in agony, trying to use his other hand to pry off the gripping hand, but to his utter terror, he found he couldn’t move it at all!

Crack!

The crisp sound of a bone breaking.

"Ahh!!"

The robber let out an inhuman scream of agony.

Crack!

Another distinct sound of a bone fracture echoed.

The thug passed out from the pain on the spot.

It was only then that another robber realized what was happening. His face twisted into a grimace as he pulled a switchblade from his pocket and stabbed towards Yang Gang.

Yang Gang flung the unconscious thug out of the way, then dodged the glinting blade of the other assailant with a swift sidestep. He grabbed the robber’s hair with a lightning-fast motion, yanking his head down while simultaneously bringing his knee up viciously into the attacker’s skull!

This knee strike was merciless; Yang Gang used all the strength he had left from the naval battle, aiming to kill.

Thump!

With a muffled sound, the robber fell to the ground, knocked out cold.

At this moment, the woman had come to her senses. Like finally seeing the first light of dawn after a long night, tears sparkled in her starry eyes, and she couldn’t help but throw herself onto Yang Gang, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.

Yang Gang didn’t move, allowing the woman’s tears to dampen his chest.

"Hey, Qingyu, long time no see," Yang Gang said with a light smile.

This woman was none other than the former school beauty, Qingyu Lin.

Unexpectedly, Lin Qingyu held onto him even tighter and began sobbing loudly.

Sensing that something must have happened, Yang Gang asked, "Qingyu, what’s wrong?"

"My dad, my dad’s leukemia has relapsed, and the doctor says it’s hopeless," Lin Qingyu said through tears.

"Relapsed?"

Yang Gang was very familiar with the illness of Lin Qingyu’s father, Lin Jianjun. It was he who had lent money to the Lin sisters to afford the successful bone marrow transplant surgery for Jianjun.

The surgery had been successful at the time, and he hadn’t expected a relapse.

"Where’s Uncle now?" asked Yang Gang hurriedly.

"He’s in our rented apartment."

"Let’s go!" Yang Gang took Lin Qingyu’s hand and immediately hailed a cab on the nearby road.

Although summoning the Water Dragon would have been more convenient, firstly, summoning it consumed a great deal of spiritual power; secondly, Huaxia had now joined the Federation. The Federal Constitution strictly forbade the use of offensive superpowers.

For the time being, Yang Gang wasn’t keen on confronting such a colossal entity as the Federation.

Half an hour later, the taxi arrived at Lin Qingyu’s rental complex.

In one of the rooms.

Lin Jianjun lay in one of the bedrooms, his complexion pale and his breathing weak, looking as if he could pass away at any moment.

A few people were gathered in the room.

Yueyao Lin, Lin Jianjun’s wife, Liu Ling, as well as Mrs. Yang and Yang Fei.
