Chapter 83: Chapter 83: Don’t be Afraid, I’m Here_1

Why the profound rage? Why such unease?

Perhaps Yang Gang himself didn’t understand.

Nevertheless, he had never, not once until now, felt such a strong desire to protect someone.

In his twenty years of living, he had few people he could call close. His foster father-the old conman, Su Xiaoxi, his best friend Zhang Yu, and Zhang Yu’s sister Zhang Miao, and Gu Xiaorou. But they were all strong, and they didn’t need his protection.

And so, over the years, Yang Gang had never felt an urge to protect anyone special.

This was his first time, ever, that he desperately wanted to protect a woman.

A cold glint flashed in Yang Gang’s eyes. He slightly leaned forward, and then with a powerful push from his right foot, he catapulted himself several meters forward, quickly disappearing into the night.

If anyone saw this, they would undoubtedly be left with their mouths agape. His pace had easily surpassed the human limit.

While running, Yang Gang could clearly feel the cells inside his body relentlessly splitting into even more cells. With the ’wild proliferation’ of his cells, his speed kept increasing, leaving behind a trail of fragmented afterimages.

Not only his speed, but with all his cells multiplying, his strength, agility, and endurance were also geometrically increased. Yang Gang even felt that if his cells continued to multiply to their extreme, he could even rival He Deng.

However, this cellular division and proliferation only occurred under certain conditions. From years of covertly observing his own body, it seemed like when he’s extremely emotional, the cells in his body would divide and multiply.

But until now, Yang Gang did not know the limits of this cellular division, so he wasn’t entirely sure if he really could stand up against He Deng.

The situation ’where cellular division led to a significant increase in his power’ was a secret of Yang Gang’s. Even Su Xiaoxi and the old conman didn’t know about this.

Yang Gang searched online, even subtly probed the old conman, but he never heard of such a thing.

Although the old conman never told him anything, Yang Gang pretty much guessed that whether it was he, or Su Xiaoxi, or Zhang Yu, or Sister Miao, or He Deng, or even Gu Xiaorou, they were all different from ordinary people. And, his condition was an anomaly among these exceptions.

"There always seems to be a deeper pit where this is concerned."

While deep in thought, Yang Gang had already caught up with the van carrying Yang Fei.

Inside the van.

A masked kidnapper glanced back and uncertainly said, "Err... is someone chasing us?"

Another kidnapper took a look at the deserted street: "I don’t see any cars."

"It seemed like a person running after us." The kidnapper said.

"Ha! Your eyes must be playing tricks. We’re driving at nearly ninety miles an hour, who could keep up? You must be seeing things."

"But I really saw a shadow just now, it disappeared with a ’whoosh’, don’t know where it went." The kidnapper muttered again.

"Brother Sheng, after getting the money from that old crook Yang Lin, what do we do with his daughter?" a kidnapper suddenly asked.

The kidnapper addressed as Brother Sheng, stroked his chin while looking at Yang Fei, who was gagged.

Yang Fei was struggling, but helpless. Her eyes were filled with fear. She thought of the news about kidnapped girls being violated, and tears began to stream down her face.

As the daughter of a wealthy family, Yang Fei had always lived with the looming threat of being kidnapped. That’s why, she very much focused on physical training, and learned quite a few self-defense techniques. But when she actually faced a kidnapping, she realized, all this amounted to nothing.

She once had a dream, in which she was kidnapped, and at her most desperate moment, a prince on a white horse descended from the sky to save her.

But when she faced the real kidnapping, when she tasted real despair, Yang Fei realized dreams would always remain just dreams.

"A prince on a white horse descending from the sky, huh? Hehe, such a naïve fantasy." Yang Fei sneered, her eyes red and moist, her laugh was despondent, and filled with despair.

Just then, an alarmed sound came from the roof of the van, and something astonishing happened.

The roof of the van bulged downwards after a heavy blow, as if a Mongolian yurt had sprung up inside. It even started to crack. Then, a pair of hands reached into the van through the crack, grabbing both sides, and tore open the metal skin of the van.

Hiss~~

The kidnappers were so startled that they couldn’t even breathe.

Holy shit, this...

"A ghost?" The kidnappers all turned deathly pale.

A large hole was torn directly into the roof of the car, and then a young man covered with murderous aura jumped into the vehicle.

Yang Fei was dumbstruck by this ’heaven-sent’ youth. After recovering her senses, tears once again welled up in her eyes.

"Gang, he’s here to save me."

The kidnappers finally came to their senses, and one of them lunged at Yang Gang with a knife.

A hint of ruthlessness flashed in Yang Gang’s eyes. He raised his foot, performed a sweeping kick, and sent the knife-wielding kidnapper flying, leaving a dent in the van’s side door. The kidnapper spat out blood from the corner of his mouth and passed out on the spot.

The remaining kidnappers looked extremely ugly.

He’s too fast! This man moved so swiftly that they couldn’t even see him raise his foot!

In the cramped space of the van, his movements seemed utterly unhindered.

And on top of that! The strength of this man was downright terrifying!

Before the kidnappers could react, murderous intent filled Yang Gang’s eyes, and his enigmatic figure darted around within the narrow cabin.

He rushed like lightning to one of the kidnappers, landed a heavy punch right on his nose.

Thud!

Crack! The sound of the nose breaking.

Ahh!!

The kidnapper wailed.

Another kidnapper with long hair tried to sneak up on Yang Gang from behind. However, Yang Gang suddenly spun around, moved behind him like a ghost, gripped his long hair, and slammed his face hard against the window glass.

Smash!

The car window shattered, and the long-haired kidnapper’s face was slashed by the broken glass, with fresh blood pouring out.

The driver, who was also a kidnapper, was quite scared. He stopped the car and knelt down in front of Yang Gang.

"Don’t kill us!"

His body trembled violently; it seemed that Yang Gang’s bloody methods had genuinely terrified him.

A sinister smile crept up on the corners of Yang Gang’s mouth. He raised his foot, and with a descending kick, he stomped the driver-kidnapper under his foot.

He exerted a little force, and the kidnapper immediately vomited a pool of blood, collapsing motionless onto the ground.

All four kidnappers were incapacitated in just a few breaths.

Only then did Yang Gang approach Yang Fei, whose mouth was gagged and hands and feet were bound.

Looking at the tear stains on Yang Fei’s cheeks, a pang of heartache surged within Yang Gang.

He gently wiped away the tears from her eyes and smiled softly, "Alright, don’t cry. I’m here, no one can bully you anymore."

He untied Yang Fei’s bindings and removed the mask from her mouth. Yang Fei immediately threw herself into Yang Gang’s arms, hugging him tightly, and began to sob uncontrollably.

Yang Gang stroked Yang Fei’s hair and said calmly, "Don’t be afraid, I’m here."

"Mmm!" Yang Fei, buried in Yang Gang’s arms, shuddered slightly, then nodded vigorously.

Yang Gang then led Yang Fei out of the van, "Feifei, wait for me here for a moment. I have a question for these kidnappers."

Yang Fei nodded.

Yang Gang returned to the van, lit a cigarette, and said coldly, "Tell me, who sent you?"
