"Gu Ge? What’s going on?" Yang Gang closed the door, fetched a blanket from the bedroom, and walked out onto the balcony. He wrapped the blanket around Gu Ge before asking, "Why are you out here in the cold night?"

Now, in the cold midwinter night, Gu Ge sat on the balcony in his pajamas, savoring the moonlight while sipping on his drink.

"Could it be because of me?"

He put down his wine glass, composed himself, and laughed lightly, "Why did you come back?"

Gu Ge looked surprised. Then, he seemed to understand something. He touched his forehead and muttered, "I see, Sister Miao had noticed."

"?" Yang Gang asked curiously, "Noticed what?"

Gu Ge took a deep breath and then laughed lightly, "Nothing. I was just curious, why would you go to your fiance’s friend’s place?"

"Uh, about that." Yang Gang recalled the stolen kiss with Zhang Miao, scratching his head awkwardly, "Sister Miao couldn’t sleep after watching a horror film. She’s pregnant and it’s bad for her to stay up late, so I volunteered to accompany her. I was just being humane, don’t get the wrong idea."

Gu Ge didn’t reply. He leaned over and sniffed Yang Gang’s lips.

"Nothing. Let’s go to sleep." Gu Ge said and then turned around to face away from Yang Gang.

Both of them drifted off to sleep.

The next day, when Yang Gang woke up, Gu Ge was gone.

A note was left on the dining table in the living room.

"Although I really want to stay by your side, I can’t. I’ll only be a hindrance to you. So, despite how painful it is, I’ve made up my mind to leave you once again. Gang, you must find your own happiness. If there is a next life, I hope I can still meet you. And last but not least, let me be willful and irresponsible one last time: ’I love you’."

He immediately called Wen Hang and asked him to locate Gu Xiaorou right away.

While Wen Hang was looking for Gu Xiaorou, Yang Gang was searching himself.

He released the kiss and turned to Kinoshita, "Kinoshita, what are you doing here?"

"I was here all along. I just went to buy milk tea for my childhood sweetheart," Kinoshita explained.

"Childhood sweetheart..." Yang Gang pulled away and looked at the blushing Gu Ge. He asked weakly, "Are you Gu Ge?"

"Yes."
