Chapter 502: Chapter 505: Music Never Lies_1

"Oh, Yang Gang, I was just about to look for you," Liu Lan smiled.

"Um, anything wrong?"

Liu Lan’s face became serious, "Chen Quan has escaped from prison."

Damn! That can’t be? He was just caught a few days ago and he’s already on the run?

"I didn’t expect that the police also had his inside man, really unexpected!" Liu Lan said.

"What about Bai Mei?" Yang Gang asked.

"She’s being protected by our special police." Liu Lan paused for a moment, looking at Yang Gang, "Yang Gang, you also be careful of the Chen Quan’s retaliation."

Yang Gang nodded.

After saying goodbye to Liu Lan, Yang Gang left with a heavy heart.

"Gang, has Chen Quan run away?" Yang Fei asked.

Yang Gang nodded, he turned to look at Yang Fei, thinking, "The problem is, that Chen Quan might target Yang Fei. The only one of my staff who can offer round-the-clock, powerful protection to Yang Fei is the female, Zuo Lan. But Zuo Lan also needs to protect Yang’s villa, she’s only one person..."

After a moment of pondering, Yang Gang seemed to have an idea, asked with a bright face, "Feifei, how about we travel somewhere?"

"Huh?"

"Travel, to the islands in the southern hemisphere. It’s early summer there now - perfect weather for a trip," Yang Gang said.

"But we have school."

Yang Gang’s face turned serious, "Feifei, is school important, or is life important? With Chen Quan on the run, what if he comes after you for revenge, then what?"

"Oh." Yang Fei thought for a moment, then said, "What about dad? His 50th birthday is just five days away."

"Five days, the police should be able to capture Chen Quan again by then," Yang Gang said.

"Oh, okay." Yang Fei nodded.

---

After separating from Yang Fei, Yang Gang called Gu Xiaorou first, then Zhang Miao, briefly explaining the situation with Chen Quan.

Zhang Miao made a quick decision, "Then we’ll leave today. Lucas the doctor happens to be free, now is the perfect time."

"Good." Then, Yang Gang seemed to remember something, quickly anxious, "Xiaorou went to Shencheng yesterday, she is still on the way back to Hangcheng. Sister Miao, you and Su Xiaoxi go first, the most important thing is the baby’s treatment."

"Uh.." After a brief moment of contemplation, Zhang Miao nodded, "Okay."

Hanging up the phone, Yang Gang looked in the direction of Shencheng, thinking, "Gu Xiaorou should be back in Hangcheng by noon today, right?"

Right now, at the Hangcheng long-distance bus station, a bus from Shencheng to Hangcheng was about to set off.

Gu Xiaorou sat in a window seat, gazing out the window at the sky. It was raining outside, and her expression was very lost.

"Even if we go to the South Pacific, Gang will take Feifei with him. Perhaps the idiot hasn’t even noticed that, unknowingly, Yang Fei has become a part of his life. That being the case, what am I to him? A temporary girlfriend?"

She paused for a moment, a smirk pulling at the corners of her mouth, "I’m naturally a temporary girlfriend."

Just then, a young man approached Gu Xiaorou. He pointed to the empty seat beside Gu Xiaorou and asked gently, "Excuse me, may I sit here?"

Gu Xiaorou took a glance at the youth, then nodded.

Because Chen Quan escaped from prison, Gu Ran left early in the morning. Now Gu Xiaorou was traveling back to Hangcheng alone.

The young man gave a faint smile, then sat down.

He appeared to be in his early twenties, with average looks and ordinary clothes, not particularly noticeable.

The only unusual thing about him was the small guitar he carried on his back.

However, for some unknown reason, this ordinary young man radiated a peculiar charm.

He was very polite and looked quiet. After sitting down, unlike other loiterers who would hit on Gu Xiaorou, he listened to the rhythm of the raindrops hitting the window, his expression seemingly completely blended with nature. Then, his eyes lit up, he quickly took out a piece of sheet music, his fingers danced and he quickly composed a piece.

Seeing this, Gu Xiaorou couldn’t help but ask curiously, "Are you a musician?"

The young man chuckled, "I wouldn’t dare call myself a musician, but music is an important medium for me to realise my dreams."

He pointed at the musical score in his hand, "This is a fresh piece of original music, would you like to listen?"

Gu Xiaorou smiled and nodded.

The young man took out his guitar, his fingers lightly strumming the strings, and a beautiful chord melody promptly filled the air.

Just one note was enough to instantly quiet the previously noisy environment inside the car.

The young man’s fingers danced on the guitar, as if musical sprites were flying from his fingertips.

All the people in the car were immersed in his music, envisioning a scene of a girl walking in the rain, like an exceptional and solitary orchid standing amidst the downpour.

A genius musician.

The song ended, and applause resounded.

Gu Xiaorou was a little excited, her eyes sparkling as she looked at the young man adoringly.

The young man smiled, saying, "Even though I have thick skin, I’d still feel shy being admired by such a beautiful woman."

Gu Xiaorou grinned, saying, "I honestly think your music is great."

"Do you like music?" asked the young man.

"I do like it, but unfortunately, I don’t have a musical gene."

The young man chuckled, watching Gu Xiaorou, then suddenly asked, "You looked worried earlier, is something bothering you?"

Gu Xiaorou sighed inwardly, saying, "It’s nothing."

The young man gently smiled, without further inquiry. His manner was elegant and appropriate, suggesting refinement and depth.

"When will Yang Gang become such a gentleman?"

Gu Xiaorou then let out a sigh.

"If Yang Gang were such a gentleman, then he wouldn’t be Yang Gang."

Gu Xiaorou’s gaze fell back onto the young man’s guitar, a faint glint flashing in her eyes.

Though it was subtle, the young man still noticed it.

"Give it a try." The young man handed the guitar to Gu Xiaorou.

Gu Xiaorou blushed slightly, "I can’t, I can’t."

The young man didn’t say anything, just quietly watched Gu Xiaorou.

Feeling somewhat awkward, Gu Xiaorou stopped resisting and picked up the guitar.

As she strummed the strings, a rendition of Youhongming’s "Mengpo Soup" danced from her fingertips,

"If there’s really some kind of drink, that can keep me from getting drunk;

Then maybe there’s a kind of tear that can keep me from getting sad

Always seeing love as too perfect, that kind of bet-all feeling

Lost a promise from a past life only to find that water has quietly turned into tears.."

A flavor of sadness and loneliness.

The young man watched Gu Xiaorou in disbelief. Though she had claimed not to have musical genes, her rendition of "Mengpo Soup" was obviously at a professional level.

He looked at Gu Xiaorou for a moment and suddenly said, "You seem lost right now."

Gu Xiaorou jumped in surprise, hurriedly shaking her head in denial.

The young man smiled, "Music doesn’t lie. Did you argue with your boyfriend?"

Gu Xiaorou was startled, wondering why she had unconsciously played that song. If music doesn’t lie, then what was she evading?

The young man chuckled, taking the guitar back. A wonderful rendition of "Legend" flowed from his fingertips:

"It’s just because I glanced at you one more time in the crowd, now I can’t forget your face..."

While playing "Legend", the young man kept his eyes on Gu Xiaorou.

Gu Xiaorou gave an awkward smile, unable to decipher the young man’s intention.

As if realizing something, the young man abruptly stopped playing, apologizing, "I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to bother you. This song is actually meant for a girl in Hangcheng."
