Chapter 363: Chapter 366: The Thief Shouts to Catch the Thief_1

After mulling it over for a moment, Yang Gang shook his head, deciding not to think further.

He had lent his Lamborghini to Yang Feng, so Yang Gang had to take a taxi to the foot of the mountain and then switch to the bus.

Because, halfway through his journey, he realized that he didn’t bring much money. He hadn’t eaten yet, so he needed to save some for his meal.

As for the restaurant, Yang Gang had already decided. It was the East City Restaurant near Dream Fairy.

It was said to serve the most authentic cuisine in Hangcheng, making it quite popular.

Just then, a bus arrived.

Yang Gang quickly glanced at the bus route, only to discover that this sole bus would conveniently pass by the East City Restaurant.

Without hesitation, he got on the bus.

At this moment, there weren’t many people on the bus, and Yang Gang found himself a comfortable seat.

After they left the upscale neighbourhood, more people started to get on. After a few stops, the bus was packed.

At that moment, Yang Gang suddenly squinted his eyes.

Following his gaze, in the crowded group of passengers, a young man in his twenties skillfully slit a woman’s purse with a sharp blade and stuffed a wad of red bills into his own pocket. The smooth and swift actions clearly indicated he was an experienced thief.

The whole bus was oblivious, including the woman whose purse had been cut.

Only two people noticed, one was Yang Gang, the other was a young man with glasses near the thief. He was holding a black suitcase and seemed to have noticed the thief’s actions, but he merely glanced and turned away, displaying his indifference.

"Hmm...interesting." Yang Gang chuckled softly.

It was a familiar scenario. The last time Yang Gang took the bus, it was the same situation: the same thief, the same suitcase, but the guy carrying the suitcase was different. The last guy he met had died in the backyard of Dream Fairy, and whatever happened to his suitcase was unknown.

Yang Gang’s gaze fell on the suitcase the young man was carrying. It was an average suitcase that showed no sign of anything unusual.

Yang Gang contemplated, lost in his thoughts.

Just then, the bus arrived at another stop. The thief, having just committed his crime, followed the flow of people leaving the bus.

Yang Gang was considering exposing the thief, but then thought better of it knowing he would be dragged in to give a statement to the police, which would be a bother.

After a moment’s hesitation, he silently moved next to the thief and, without him noticing, transferred the money from the thief’s pocket back into the woman’s purse.

When it came to thieving skills, Yang Gang was masterful. After all, he had started stealing when he was around four or five, taunted into doing so by a cunning old man.

Everything was done silently, unnoticed by anyone in the bustling crowd.

At the next stop, the seemingly successful thief swaggered off the bus.

After how many stops, Yang Gang didn’t know exactly, until the bus announcement stated they had arrived at East City Restaurant, did Yang Gang finally get off the bus.

Not many people got off at this stop, making a total of three passengers, including Yang Gang, whose destination seemed to be the East City Restaurant.

The other two passengers, one was a pot-bellied middle-aged man in his forties, and the other was the young man with glasses who had seemingly ignored the thief on the bus.

"Brother, did you take the bus here just to eat as well?" the pot-bellied middle-aged man asked Yang Gang with a naive smile.

"Yeah, I’m a regular. Is this your first time here, brother?" Yang Gang responded with a smile.

The middle-aged man scratched his sparse beard, appeared melancholy, "It’s been over twenty years; you could say it feels like my first time. I used to be a habitual visitor back when I was younger."

The young man with glasses glanced at Yang Gang and the middle-aged man and pushed up his glasses. He picked up his suitcase and went into the East City Restaurant alone.

The East City Restaurant located in the suburbs of Hangcheng was a standalone five-story building. Its architectural style hinted at its age. At that moment, during the lunch rush, the restaurant was buzzing with patrons.

After the young man with glasses entered the East City Restaurant, Yang Gang and the middle-aged man followed suit.

At first glance, the restaurant was truly booming. The massive dining hall on the first floor was nearly packed.

Interestingly, Yang Gang spotted the thief from the bus among the dining crowd. The kid was indulging in his meal, eating his fish and meat heartily. It seemed like he had taken a cab directly to eat here after getting off the bus. He had actually arrived twenty minutes before Yang Gang and seemed to be getting ready to pay the bill.

But there was something strange. The kid’s cheery expression indicated he was still unaware that the money he had stolen had miraculously ended up back with its rightful owner. Did he even have the money to pay the bill later?

Besides this ’acquaintance’, the glasses-wearing young man who had entered the restaurant just before them seemed to have not found a seat yet, so he was just standing in the aisle.

How fortunate, just as more customers got up from their seats, Yang Gang and the middle-aged man managed to snag them.

The seats were for four people. Noticing the vacant seats, the glasses-wearing young man came over and sat down, suitcase in tow.

He placed his suitcase on the seat, looked at Yang Gang and asked, "Can you guys watch my suitcase while I step out for a call?"

"Don’t worry, we got it." Before Yang Gang could even answer, the jovial middle-aged man had already willingly agreed.

Yang Gang could only nod in agreement.

"Thank you." The glasses-wearing young man thanked them politely and then exited the dining hall.

Just then, the dining hall suddenly started buzzing.

Yang Gang turned around to see what was happening. Damn it! The commotion was precisely where the pickpocket was sitting.

The thief was seen in a fit of panic, sweat trickling down his face, and his hands frantically searching his body, but he couldn’t find a single penny.

Seeing this, the waiter who was trying to settle the bill looked suspicious, "Are you trying to dine and dash, sir?"

"Bah!" The thief’s face turned red as he cursed bitterly, "Damn it! You think I can’t afford a measly hundred bucks? Damn! Someone must’ve stolen my money on the bus."

Yang Gang almost couldn’t hold his laughter in.

Damn! This guy is too much! Did he just pull a classic case of ’thief shouting thief’?

The waiter, sprayed with his saliva, was livid.

"Sir, if you refuse to pay, we’ll have to take this to the police station," the waiter said as he took out his phone to dial 110.

The thief, realizing the situation was getting out of hand, tried to make a run for it, but the waiter grabbed him, the two of them getting into a scuffle.

The other staff in the restaurant rushed over to help.

Seeing this, the thief, panicking even more, rummaged in his pocket and pulled out a three-inch long blade. In the heat of the moment, he got ready to stab the waiter in the stomach.

All of this happened in the blink of an eye, and most of the people in the restaurant didn’t have time to react.

Yang Gang was baffled.

"Come to think of it, I directed this whole scenario. If I hadn’t stealthily switched the stolen money that the thief had, he would be able to pay his bill, wouldn’t be embarrassed by the waiter, and wouldn’t end up pulling a knife on someone in panic."

Holy shit! So, am I the mastermind and primary culprit behind this bloody scene?!

This couldn’t have anything to do with Xiaorou’s prophecy, could it?

Yang Gang pondered for a second, silently slipping a silver needle from his pocket, ready to make his move.
