Chapter 174: Chapter 177 Bad Review!_1

"Zi Han, what’s wrong?" Yang Fei hurriedly asked.

Xia Zihan looked at Yang Fei, opened her mouth slightly, eventually speaking, "I... I’m engaged to Huang Tianlin."

Yang Fei was taken aback.

For Yang Fei, this should have been a thunderbolt from the blue, but she wasn’t as upset as she’d imagined.

Her fondness for Huang Tianlin only went as far as having a slight crush.

Yang Fei gathered her thoughts and smiled, "Zi Han, you don’t need to worry about me. I don’t like Huang Tianlin as much as you think. Sure, I have feelings for him, but that’s all. Congratulations, after all, Huang Tianlin is the top heartthrob at our school."

With tears trickling down her face, Xia Zihan shook her head, "But, I don’t like him. The engagement was arranged by my father and grandfather with the Huang family, and I was the last one to know."

"Um... this isn’t a good place to discuss this." Yang Fei turned to Gu Xiaorou, "Xiaorou, can Zi Han stay with us tonight?"

Gu Xiaorou nodded.

Xia Zihan glanced at Yang Gang behind her, opened her mouth to say something, but in the end, remained silent.

After the three women left, Zhang Miao smiled faintly and said, "Gang, it seems the young lady from the Xia family likes you."

Yang Gang looked surprised, "Really? I don’t think so, she used to super hate me. Although, since she became more restrained recently, she’s been nicer to me. But, she wouldn’t like me, right?"

Young Master Yang added quite certain, "That’s too sudden, feelings aren’t that simple."

Zhang Miao smiled wryly, "Given your emotional intelligence, it’s not easy to grasp this."

She paused for a moment, checked the time, and said, "There’s still some time, Gang, accompany me for a walk?"

"Mmm." Yang Gang nodded.

The two of them walked along the quiet path, neither of them talking.

After a moment, Zhang Miao took a cigarette out of her pocket and was about to light it when Yang Gang grabbed it.

"Sister Miao, you should smoke less, I read somewhere that excessive smoking can lead to infertility in women," Yang Gang said lightly.

Zhang Miao extinguished the lighter and laughed, "Nonsense."

"Anyway, smoking isn’t good for women," Yang Gang insisted.

Zhang Miao was surprised, but laughed and said, "Fine, fine. I won’t smoke tonight."

She paused, looked at Yang Gang, and smiled faintly. "Unknowingly, Gang has grown up. I first met you when you were about seven or eight years old, always following Little Xi around. Ah, do you remember, Gang? Once somebody bullied Little Xi, you stood in front of her, earnestly saying, ’She’s my wife, you’re not allowed to bully her.’"

Zhang Miao chuckled, "You were only eight back then. I remember thinking, ’This mature kid is sure to be successful in the future.’

Yang Gang turned a shade of crimson, "Sister Miao, please, don’t bring up those things up anymore. I’m embarrassed just thinking about those things from Junior high."

Zhang Miao laughed lightly.

"Time flies so quickly; it’s been twelve years since we met. Without us realizing it, Gang, you’ve grown taller than me." Zhang Miao looked up into Yang Gang’s eyes and smiled lightly, "But you’re still the Gang I’m familiar with, that big fool who would tirelessly run around for others."

Yang Gang scratched his head, "I can’t tell if Sister Miao is complimenting me or teasing me."

Zhang Miao laughed, "It’s good that you can’t tell."

She paused for a moment and added softly, "Gang, I know you’ve developed feelings for the Yang family, and I won’t stop you. However, I hope you prepare yourself mentally. That way, if the things you’ve done are exposed and the Yang family abandons you in the future, you won’t be too hurt."

Yang Gang was silent for a moment, then nodded, "Okay, I understand."

He looked at Zhang Miao, expressionless, unable to tell what she was thinking. After a beat, he broke into a smile and said, "Sister Miao, you’re really hard to decipher."

Zhang Miao rolled her eyes, "If someone like you could see through my thoughts, how could I continue to exist?"

Yang Gang scratched his head and gave a little chuckle.

The two of them strolled along the river.

Yang Gang glanced at Zhang Miao, and after a few false starts, finally asked, "Sister Miao, do you...do you have anyone you like?"

Zhang Miao glanced at the moon above and said lightly, "Yes and no, I guess."

"I don’t understand." Young Master Yang confessed that his emotional quotient was so low, he couldn’t understand.

Zhang Miao looked at Yang Gang and laughed, "Gang, do you care if I like anyone?"

Yang Gang scratched his chin, "Sort of. Because I am determined to marry you."

This time, Zhang Miao didn’t roll her eyes; she looked at Yang Gang and smiled, "Do you really dare to marry me?"

He was about to declare ’I dare’, but the words caught in his throat, and Yang Gang suddenly lacked the courage.

He wrestled with his thoughts for a moment, then took a deep breath and said, "I dare."

"Hmm..." Zhang Miao looked at Yang Gang with a significant glance, then flashed him a charming smile, "Okay, here’s a chance for you to show your bravery. Kiss me."

"Kiss...kiss Sister Miao?" Yang Gang was so excited he stammered.

He looked at Zhang Miao’s thin, rose-colored lips, swallowed hard and asked, "Really...can I?"

Zhang Miao smiled and closed her eyes.

Yang Gang moved closer to Zhang Miao, smelling the scent of lavender wafting off her. His hormones ramped up. He looked at Zhang Miao’s red lips, swallowed again, and his lips slowly moved closer to hers.

But just when his lips were a centimeter away from her tempting lips, Yang Gang paused.

To his annoyance, he found that his mind was flooded with images of Su Xiaoxi.

Why? Why?

He was a little depressed, finally understanding why Sister Miao gave him the chance to kiss her. Because she had seen through him, she knew he didn’t dare to kiss her.

At that moment, Zhang Miao opened her eyes and smiled lightly. "Gang, there’s no need to fake it anymore, you can’t do it. Because, I’m Little Xi’s best friend."

Before she could finish her sentence, Zhang Miao’s lips were sealed by Yang Gang’s in a crude kiss. She stared, wide-eyed in disbelief that Yang Gang had actually kissed her.

A few seconds later, Yang Gang released her, looked at a stunned Zhang Miao and said, "Sister Miao, I’m not a coward."

Zhang Miao finally snapped out of her shock, she wiped her lips with her hand and laughed lightly, "You’re not a coward, I admit. But your kissing skill is really awful, bad review."

Yang Gang scratched his head, "I’m still in Novice Village, haven’t levelled up yet."

Zhang Miao rolled her eyes.

After that, Zhang Miao chatted with Yang Gang in a relaxed manner.

Yang Gang couldn’t find any hint of shyness or awkwardness on Zhang Miao’s face, which made him a little disappointed.

"Perhaps in Sister Miao’s eyes, my kiss was just like that of a younger brother."

After nine o’clock, Zhang Miao checked the time and said, "Okay, Gang, it’s time to take me to the airport."

Yang Gang felt a twinge of reluctance, but he knew about Zhang Miao’s habits. She would never stay in one place for too long.

Afterward, Yang Gang took Zhang Miao to the airport.

By the time he returned from the airport, it was already late at night.

He planned to spend the night in a hotel or foot-massage parlour.

Yang Gang wandered around Fenghua Street for awhile, eventually settling on a foot massage place.

Upon reaching the entrance, two rows of approximately twelve professional-looking lovely women dressed in skimpy outfits bowed simultaneously and exclaimed, "Welcome!"
