Chapter 365: Chapter 360: Refusal
"Ha!"
Yan Rufeng smiled and cupped his hands, saying, "This young lady, although your music is quite enchanting, I still have important matters to attend to, so I won’t accompany you any longer."
Yan Rufeng turned to leave, and the music abruptly ceased.
"Young Master Yan, please stay!"
The purple-clothed woman smiled beautifully, so stunning that even the flowers around the pavilion seemed to lose their luster.
The purple-clothed woman slowly rose and gracefully walked toward Yan Rufeng.
Yan Rufeng turned back and asked in confusion, "I wonder, young lady, why do you insist on keeping me here?"
The purple-clothed woman smiled and said, "Young Master Yan, I paid your entrance fee into the city, don’t you want to ask why?"
"Ha!"
Yan Rufeng smiled.
"In my life, I’ve helped countless people, and of course, I’ve also been helped by others. As a fellow cultivator, I am truly grateful that you were willing to help me in my time of need."
"Grateful?"
The purple-clothed woman sneered, "I haven’t seen an ounce of gratitude in you."
Yan Rufeng paused for a moment and said, "Young lady, I don’t like owing people favors. If you need anything from me, as long as it does not go against heaven and earth’s principles, I am willing to do it."
"Hehe!"
The purple-clothed woman giggled, "Young Master Yan, since you said you’re willing to do something for me, then you can follow me now."
"Where to?" Yan Rufeng asked.
Yan Rufeng then quickly added, "Young lady, I think you misunderstand. I meant I could help you with one thing."
"I never intended for you to do two things for me."
Then, the purple-clothed woman clapped her hands, and from behind the pavilion, a dragon-shaped ship appeared on the river.
The purple-clothed woman smiled joyfully.
"Young Master Yan, please board the ship!"
"Ha!"
Without asking further questions, Yan Rufeng just smiled, shook his head, and walked towards the ship.
The dragon-shaped boat had three floors. Under Cai Xia’s guidance, Yan Rufeng reached the third floor.
Inside the cabin, a tea table was set with tea already prepared. Yan Rufeng unceremoniously took a seat at one of the empty spots.
Yan Rufeng had not had tea from the Immortal World for more than ten years. He picked up a cup and took a sip.
"Good tea!"
"Hehe!"
The purple-clothed woman walked over, smiling, "Young Master Yan, aren’t you afraid I might have poisoned the tea?"
Yan Rufeng lightly smiled.
"Since this is our first meeting and there is no enmity, why would the young lady harm me?"
"Hehe!"
The purple-clothed woman covered her face and laughed, "Not necessarily."
Yan Rufeng put down the teacup and slowly asked, "May I ask the young lady’s honorable name? And what matter brought me here?"
The purple-clothed woman smiled gently.
"Young Master Yan, I thought you had no manners. Only now do you ask my name. But since you’ve annoyed me, I won’t tell you."
"Ha!"
Yan Rufeng shook his head, poured himself another cup of tea, and smiled, "At least tell me what you want me to do."
Without replying, the purple-clothed woman walked to the seat opposite Yan Rufeng, sat down with a sweet smile, and supported her chin with both hands, looking at Yan Rufeng.
"Young Master Yan, do you think I’m beautiful?"
"Pfft!"
Yan Rufeng almost spat out the tea he just drank.
The purple-clothed woman’s brows furrowed, and she looked angry.
"What? Do you find me unattractive?"
"No, no, no!"
Yan Rufeng quickly said, "Young lady, your beauty could eclipse the moon and shame the flowers, make fish dive and geese fall—truly a rare beauty in the Immortal World."
The purple-clothed woman blushed and demanded, "Then why did you react that way?"
Yan Rufeng calmly replied, "Though you are as beautiful as a flower, what has that to do with me?"
"Hehe!"
The purple-clothed woman laughed, "It has everything to do with you."
Yan Rufeng was somewhat surprised.
"With me? I must be hearing things."
The purple-clothed woman smiled and said, "Young Master Yan, you did not mishear."
"Haha!"
Yan Rufeng laughed, "Tell me, what does it have to do with me?"
The purple-clothed woman’s face flushed, and she lowered her head, shyly asking, "I wonder if Young Master Yan is married?"
"Uh!"
Yan Rufeng was at a loss for words, feeling awkward and thinking, "Just ten years away from the Immortal World, and everything has changed so much. Are girls this direct now?"
"Young Master Yan, you aren’t answering, so I take it you’re not married," the purple-clothed woman softly said.
"Uh."
Yan Rufeng stammered, "Well... Young lady... How should I answer this?"
The purple-clothed woman pouted, "Just tell me the truth. I won’t force you."
"Okay."
Yan Rufeng gently replied, "Young lady, I’m sorry, I already have someone in mind."
The purple-clothed woman seemed disappointed.
"You already have someone in mind..."
Reading her expression, Yan Rufeng added to clarify her intentions.
"However, we haven’t had the wedding yet."
The purple-clothed woman’s frown eased.
"No wedding yet, that’s great."
"Ha!"
Yan Rufeng smiled, "I wonder why the young lady asks such a question?"
"Ha."
The purple-clothed woman replied, "I wonder if Young Master Yan is truly clueless or pretending to be?"
"What do you mean by that?" Yan Rufeng pursued.
"What else could it mean? I want you to marry me."
Then, with anger in her eyes, the purple-clothed woman continued.
"I’ve gone this far, and you still don’t get it. You’re a fool."
"Heh."
Yan Rufeng chuckled, "Young lady, if it were anything else, I would gladly help you. But this, I cannot oblige."
The purple-clothed woman suddenly stood up, pointing at Yan Rufeng and angrily saying, "You, how dare you refuse me? You’re courting death."
"Swish, swish~"
As soon as she spoke, Cai Yi and Cai Xia appeared behind Yan Rufeng, drawing their short swords at him.
"Sigh."
Yan Rufeng sighed, "I’ve heard of forced marriages, but never forced weddings."
The purple-clothed woman coldly said, "Cai Yi, Cai Xia, I don’t want to see him anymore."
Cai Xia hesitated.
"Miss, are you sure you want to kill him?"
The purple-clothed woman widened her eyes and commanded fiercely, "I don’t like repeating myself. Chop him up and throw him into the Feng River to feed the fish immediately."
"As you command."
Before Cai Yi and Cai Xia could act, a green radiance burst from behind Yan Rufeng. The floating longsword emitted a ringing sound.
"Zheng~"
Where the green light passed, all sharp weapons turned to dust, leaving Cai Yi and Cai Xia frozen in fear.
"The prettier the woman, the more vicious she is. Want to chop my master up and feed him to the fish? Not in this lifetime!"
The purple-clothed woman, realizing the commotion couldn’t be caused by Yan Rufeng alone, assumed he had help.
Panicked, the purple-clothed woman yelled.
"Who? Who are you? Show yourself immediately!"
