Chapter 370: 281 Trapped in the Absolute Spirit Sea Domain_1

The ground erupted with massive amounts of Absolute Spirit Qi, submerging most of the island, and for the time being, Shen Long and Chu Buyu were reduced to mortals, unable to utilize even a trace of Mana. Fortunately, their lifespans were not affected.

Shen Long clenched his fists; he indeed could not use Mana, but his physical body was strong, and his mighty strength was still impressive.

"It seems we’ll have to stay on this deserted island for a while!"

Chu Buyu said, his face full of caution.

In the short term, there was no need for them to turn on each other. Over time, as the number of Fasting Pills dwindled, fighting over them might become a possibility.

"For a while? Fairy Chu, do you plan on sitting around waiting for death? If the Absolute Spirit Qi continues for hundreds of years, no amount of Fasting Pills will be sufficient!"

Shen Long frowned as he spoke.

"Taoist Friend Shen wants to leave this place? Right now, we are but mortals in flesh, not to mention the fierce beasts of the sea, even the seawater could drown us."

Chu Buyu analyzed.

Monster Beasts, upon coming into contact with the Absolute Spirit Qi, also couldn’t use their monster powers and became nothing more than larger fierce beasts, still a threat to mortals.

"That’s true, but I’m not planning to just sit around waiting for death. Of course, I don’t mean to leave immediately. First, we’ll observe for a while, make some preparations. I hope it won’t be necessary, but if more than a decade passes and the Absolute Spirit Qi hasn’t dispersed, then we will have to make a move to leave."

Shen Long said.

He wouldn’t act hastily. He planned to wait ten years or so. If the Absolute Spirit Qi hadn’t dispersed by then, they would have to leave. Before that, he wanted to be prepared.

"What preparations do you have in mind?"

Chu Buyu asked.

"First, I’ll observe the conditions around this island, watch the wind direction, the tides and the fierce beasts in the sea; chop down trees to make a raft, and collect fresh water."

Shen Long said.

Chu Buyu nodded, "No problem, let’s prepare separately! Hopefully, it won’t come to that."

Shen Long nodded and walked towards the dense forest in the distance,

while Chu Buyu stepped towards a patch of green bamboo and disappeared among it.

······

Sun Moon Island, the main temple of Sun Moon Palace.

A splendid golden palace, where Song Lianyue sat on the main seat with a gloomy look in her eyes.

A medium-build youth in a green robe respectfully reported to her.

"What! The Absolute Spirit Qi has erupted in the Absolute Spirit Sea Domain? Buyu hasn’t returned yet?"

Song Lianyue furrowed her brows as she spoke.

"Not yet, she might be on her way back."

The youth in the green robe replied cautiously.

Wang Feng, a Core Formation Middle Stage, was the head of the Sun Moon Palace’s Information Hall.

"Send more people to look for Buyu. I hope she hasn’t been trapped in the Absolute Spirit Sea Domain."

Song Lianyue instructed, then something seemed to occur to her, "By the way, what was she doing in the Absolute Spirit Sea Domain?"

"It’s said there’s a fourth-grade Spirit Flame in the Absolute Spirit Sea Domain. Reverend Tianfeng, who is a Core Formation Cultivator, provided the information. He has also given some intelligence to Master Aunt Chu in the past without issue."

Wang Feng explained.

"Where is Reverend Tianfeng right now? Can we get in touch with him?"

Song Lianyue pressed for more information.

"We can’t reach him for the time being. Are you worried that there might be a problem?"

Wang Feng asked.

"Look into this person’s background, it’s best to find him and bring him back to the main temple. I will question him personally."

Song Lianyue ordered.

"Yes, Palace Master,"

Wang Feng agreed wholeheartedly and took his leave.

······

On a deserted island, within a hidden underground cavern.

A woman in a purple dress with a graceful figure was talking to a tall and thin elder in green robes, whose brows were deeply furrowed.

"Madam Chen, I have already told the false news to Senior Chu as you instructed. When will you release my granddaughter?"

The elder in green robes looked hopeful.

The lady in the purple dress flicked her sleeve, and a command flag with a flashing yellow light shot out, embedding itself into a wall. The wall lit up with a dazzling yellow light, revealing a cavern over a hundred yards in size. A slender girl in a yellow dress rushed out from inside the cavern.

"Sun Moon Palace might have sent people after you, you better change your appearances and run as far as you can!"

The woman in the purple dress said.

The man in the green robe thanked her and left with the girl in the yellow dress.

"The eruption of the Absolute Spirit Qi in the Absolute Spirit Sea Domain is almost upon us; I hope it will trap her to death there."

The woman in the purple dress muttered to herself.

She was none other than Mu Shanshan, who had changed her face.

She had always interacted with Reverend Tianfeng in disguise, so even if her scheme was uncovered, it wouldn’t be traced back to Mu Shanshan.

In her early years, Mu Shanshan had come across an ancient text which contained a Nascent Soul Cultivator’s deductions on the patterns of the emergence of the Absolute Spirit Qi. Based on this ancient text, Mu Shanshan deduced that an eruption was imminent, and deliberately set a trap to lure Chu Buyu to the Absolute Spirit Sea Domain.

Once she left the cave, Mu Shanshan turned into a streak of Escape Light, breaking through the sky, and left the place.

······

Time passed, and fifteen years had gone by.

Deep within the Absolute Spirit Sea Domain, on a desolate island.

Shen Long and Chu Buyu stood on the sandy beach, not far from a rudimentary bamboo raft.

The Absolute Spirit Qi had yet to dissipate, and they had been on this desolate island for fifteen years, with their supply of Fasting Pills dwindling.

To continue staying here could spell starvation.

Shen Long, with a face full of bristling whiskers and unkempt hair, had a bunch of bananas tied around him and five gourds at his waist – four filled with water and one with Fasting Pills.

Chu Buyu carried a large bundle on her back and had four gourds tied to her waist – three filled with water and one with Fasting Pills.

Over the years, they had been observing the conditions of the sea domain, mastering the approximate times of the tides, amassing an amount of food and water.

"Fairy Chu, let’s set out! I hope we can leave this cursed place."

Shen Long said somberly.

Chu Buyu nodded, and together they pushed the bamboo raft into the sea, each wielding a makeshift paddle, propelling the raft across the ocean.

The sea breeze blew in gusts and the waters churned. Shen Long and Chu Buyu had grown accustomed to this; they had practiced many times before and were used to the conditions.

Shen Long rowed, the raft slowly advanced, and Chu Buyu rested by his side.

They would take turns maneuvering the raft, maximizing their efficiency.

Barely having advanced ten yards, a huge wave struck, tossing them back a distance.

Shen Long had no choice but to keep striving, steering the raft through the open sea.

After half a day, Chu Buyu spoke up, "Taoist Friend Shen, rest a bit, it’s my turn."

Shen Long nodded, sat down, drank some water, and swallowed a Fasting Pill.

Chu Buyu swung the paddle, maneuvering the raft forward; the sea continued to roll and surge, and their progress was slow.

Half a day passed and Chu Buyu was panting heavily, her mortal body struggling with the physical demands of moving the raft, resulting in significant exhaustion.

It was at this time that Shen Long’s robust physical advantages came to light.

"Fairy Chu, let me take over!"

Shen Long said.

"No, we’ve agreed to take turns steering the raft, we haven’t gotten far, and it’s not my time to rest yet. Continue resting; I can manage."

Chu Buyu declined, continued to row, and the raft moved slowly forward.

Shen Long didn’t say anything more and kept watch over their surroundings.

The sky grew dark, and a bright moon hung high above, bathing everything with its silvery glow.

Chu Buyu didn’t stop rowing, and the raft kept moving forward.

More than a month later, they landed on an island hundreds of miles in size, also shrouded in Absolute Spirit Qi.

"At last we’ve reached an island, but who knows in which year of the monkey or month of the horse we’ll leave the Absolute Spirit Sea Domain."

Chu Buyu sighed, her face clouded with worry.

If their mana were still present, they could have crossed this area in less than half an hour.

"Who knows, let’s do our best. Let’s rest up for now, gather water and food, and set out again after a while."

Shen Long suggested.

Chu Buyu nodded, and together with Shen Long, they dragged the raft onto the shore.

They found a secluded cave and began to rest.
