A series of thunderous booms echoed from high above, as a huge silver bolt of lightning tore through the sky, striking the man in the golden robe.

Before he could dodge, a piercing screech rang out by his ear, like being hit by a heavy hammer, leaving him dazed and disoriented.

Before he could recover, the silver lightning struck him, and the light of the lightning engulfed the man in the golden robe.

A golden great rod descended from the sky, plunging into the lightning. The ground shook violently, and the man in the golden robe lay with a bloodied head, dead.

"Not good, it’s a trap, retreat quickly."

The woman in the purple dress was hugely alarmed and cried out, turning into a purple escape light and flying away into the distance.

She cast a spell, and a giant black toad sprang towards Shen Long.

Shen Long released the Ice Flood Dragon, which roared heavenwards and spewed out a thick beam of white light, heading straight for the black toad.

The black toad’s legs kicked out, dodging the white light, which hit the ground and instantly encased it in ice.

A deafening thunder roared above, and a silver bolt of lightning, about a foot in diameter, sliced through the sky, striking the black toad and submerging it in the light of the lightning.

A barrage of yellow sand arrows flew through the air, penetrating the silver lightning.

At this moment, the woman in the purple dress was about to escape the marketplace. A ball of firelight lit up the void ahead, blocking her path.

The firelight receded, revealing a cyan-red firebird the size of a palm, radiating terrifying heat.

The cyan-red firebird collided with the woman’s protective spiritual light, turning into a large expanse of cyan-red flames that engulfed her figure and dimmed her protective spiritual light.

A long spear, flickering with yellow light, flew towards her, piercing through her protective spiritual light and through her head.

The other two Core Formation cultivators hadn’t escaped far before two thick bolts of silver lightning struck down, engulfing their figures.

Shen Long suggested, putting away the Ice Flood Dragon and the Gold-Winged Fire Ant.

He looted the enemy’s bodies for their possessions and took the bodies as well.

"The marketplace has a Direct Transmission Array that can teleport us to the Qin Family, Taoist Friend Shen, please follow us back."

Qin Yunyan said.

He led Shen Long to a secret chamber which housed an array spanning several dozens of feet across, and they stepped onto it.

Qin Yunyan injected a spell into the array, and a dazzling Spiritual Light lit up, engulfing their figures.

After a brief feeling of dizziness, Shen Long found himself inside a similarly sized secret chamber.

Qin Yunyan hastened towards the exit, with Shen Long following him.

They emerged from a grand hall and heard deafening explosions, interspersed with the faint sound of screams.

"This is bad, they really used a diversionary tactic. Impossible! Our Qin Family’s Clan Protection Formation is a fourth-tier Formation; Core Formation Cultivators can’t break through it that easily."

Qin Yunyan said, disbelief written all over his face.

He had no time for further thought and flew out.

A dozen Core Formation Cultivators were dueling with spells, and further away, Spirit Beasts and Spirit Birds were entangled in combat.
