Chapter 260: The Strongest Talent of the Era
The battlefield was silent for a brief moment. Dust still lingered in the air from Arthur’s previous attack, the remains of his defeated foes scattered around him.
Only 17 opponents remained, their faces filled with tension and determination. Among them were Prince Cedric and Prince Xavier, the twin prodigies of the Hartfield Royal Family.
Arthur stood calmly, his golden eyes scanning his opponents. He could feel their hesitation. Though they tried to mask it with battle-ready stances, the fear in their hearts was clear.
"You’re not attacking?" Arthur said, his voice echoing across the stage. "Then I’ll come to you."
With a single step, he vanished. A gust of wind followed his movement, and in the blink of an eye, he was already in front of Prince Cedric and Prince Xavier.
The twins reacted instantly. Their bodies shimmered with golden energy as their Martial Spirits materialized behind them. Prince Cedric’s Martial Spirit was the Golden Wyvern, a massive draconic beast with golden scales, its eyes burning with divine might. Prince Xavier’s Martial Spirit was the Imperial Griffin, its white feathers radiating a noble aura.
"Imperial Twin Formation!" Cedric roared.
Their energy surged and intertwined, forming a golden barrier around them. Arthur’s fist was already moving, aiming straight for Cedric’s chest. As his attack connected with the barrier, a powerful shockwave spread across the battlefield. The ground beneath them cracked, but the twins remained standing.
Arthur smirked. "Not bad."
Xavier’s figure blurred as he appeared behind Arthur, claws of golden energy forming around his hands. "Imperial Claw Strike!"
Arthur tilted his head slightly, dodging the attack with ease. But before he could counter, Cedric launched forward, his wyvern’s aura surging as he unleashed a golden beam from his palm. "Draconic Divine Shot!"
The attack roared toward Arthur, but he didn’t move. Instead, his aura surged, and his right hand clenched into a fist. A faint golden glow covered his arm. Then, he struck forward with pure speed and power.
BOOM!
The beam shattered upon impact with Arthur’s fist. The shockwave sent Cedric flying backward. Xavier widened his eyes in shock but quickly charged in, swinging his Imperial Claw Strike again.
Arthur sighed. "Too slow."
He vanished once more. In that moment, he reappeared behind Xavier and drove his elbow into his back. Xavier coughed out blood as he was sent crashing into Cedric.
The twins groaned, trying to get up, but Arthur had already decided to end it. His aura shifted as he raised his fist. This time, it was different. The air around his hand twisted, his energy taking on an incomprehensible form.
"Fist Concept: Thousand Strikes."
In an instant, countless fists rained down on the twins. Their barrier cracked. Their bodies shook under the overwhelming force. A final blow struck Cedric in the chest, sending both him and Xavier flying off the stage.
The crowd was silent.
Arthur exhaled. "Next."
Before he could relax, a faint hissing sound reached his ears. His gaze shifted as a figure stepped forward.
Gakner.
The disciple of the Heavenly Sword Sect, a current member of Arthur’s Invincible Sword Disciple Faction, now faces this legendary genius.
A thick mist spread around him, and behind him, his Martial Spirit revealed itself—a massive blue grass snake, its scales shimmering as it released an invisible, odorless poison into the air.
Gakner smiles slightly. "Prince Arthur, I always admired your strength, but today, I want to show you what I am capable of too."
He was very respectful towards Arthur.
Arthur raised an eyebrow. He could feel the effects of the poison starting to spread. It wasn’t just any poison—it was a spiritual toxin that affected the soul itself.
He has seen it in action before where few of the weaker contestants who had been near the mist collapsed to their knees, their eyes turning lifeless.
Arthur sighed. "You think poison can stop me?"
He narrowed his eyes, and a crimson-gold aura burst from his body. A dragon’s roar echoed in the air, shaking the entire battlefield.
Gakner’s smirk vanished. "What—"
Before he could finish his sentence, Arthur had already moved. With a single punch, infused with his Chaos Dragon bloodline’s power, he struck Gakner straight in the chest.
BOOM!
Gakner’s body shot backward like a cannonball. He crashed into the farthest edge of the arena, unconscious before he even hit the ground.
The crowd erupted into a mixture of cheers and shocked silence.
Arthur shook his head. "Disappointing."
But before he could turn away, another presence emerged from the remaining contestants. This time, it was someone familiar—Mark Grayson.
Unlike the others, Mark’s expression wasn’t filled with fear or anger. Instead, he smiled.
"I guess it’s my turn," he said as his Martial Spirit materialized.
A massive White Tiger appeared behind him, its golden eyes locking onto Arthur.
Mark clasped his hands together. "Rare Earth Rank Technique—Heavenly Tiger Descent!"
A brilliant light surged around him. His body became enveloped in white energy, and his speed increased in an instant. He charged toward Arthur, his claws coated in razor-sharp energy.
Arthur narrowed his eyes. "You’re serious."
Instead of dodging, Arthur lifted his right hand. His energy condensed, forming a unique pattern around his palm. As Mark’s attack neared, Arthur unleashed his technique.
"Palm Dao Concept: Tidal Surge."
A wave-like force exploded from his palm, colliding with Mark’s attack. The energy rippled through the battlefield like a raging tide, swallowing everything in its path.
Mark’s figure froze mid-air before he was thrown back, slamming into the ground.
Silence once again filled the arena.
Arthur stood tall, his golden eyes sweeping across the remaining contestants. "Anyone else?"
No one moved just yet.
"Wow! He is so powerful!"
"Well, I somewhat expected such strength the instant I saw him conquer the stairway challenge."
"You’re right. He is the first in history."
"But now that you think about it. Doesn’t that mean he is the strongest talent of this era?" A wise old elder spoke suddenly.
The others went silent as they contemplated the implication of that statement.
