Chapter 285: Explosions

Seeing Duan Xinni behave like this, Xiu Wu just stood there and looked at her with disgust clear in his pair of cold eyes. When Duan Xinni looked at his cold eyes, she felt like she had fallen into an icy lake. A chill ran down her spine, and she subconsciously took a step back.

Not wanting to waste anymore time for her, Xiu Wu activated his ability and flicked his fingers. The next second, a black ball appeared out of thin air, trapping Duan Xinni, leaving only her head outside the black ball.

She was suspended in the air, so scared that she couldn’t even make a sound. Without saying anything, Xiu Wu turned around and walked back to look for Zhu Lin, while the black ball followed him.

After walking for a while, Xiu Wu left the power storage system area and saw Zhu Lin still waiting outside. He smiled and called her: "Lin’er."

Zhu Lin turned her head when she heard him calling her. She looked at Duan Xinni, who was trapped inside the black ball, for a few seconds and said, "We’d better send her to the security building now."

Xiu Wu nodded and said, "Mhm."

After speaking, he raised his eyes and looked into the distance with a frown. Zhu Lin noticed something was wrong with his gentle expression and asked, "What’s wrong?"

Hearing her question, Xiu Wu looked at her and said, "There is a large mass of devil energy approaching us at a fast speed from the direction of H City. My guess is that the mass of demonic energy is an army of advanced zombies."

After hearing his answer, Zhu Lin tilted her head slightly and asked, "Why do you think so?"

Xiu Wu’s expression changed slightly and he said, "Because the headquarters of the secret organization is in H City."

Hearing what he said, Zhu Lin frowned and said, "Then let’s hurry up. We must inform the others before those zombies arrive."

After she finished speaking, the two of them left Sector C and rushed to Sector E where the security building was located. Five minutes later, they arrived in front of the security building. The soldiers quickly approached them when they saw a floating black ball following them.

A soldier pointed at Duan Xinni, who was trapped in the black ball, and asked, "Captain Xiu, Miss Zhu, why are you two here? This is..."

"We brought the spy." He replied calmly.

The soldier nodded and said, "Thank you, Captain Xiu. We will take her to the underground prison."

Xiu Wu nodded, then flicked his fingers. Immediately, the black ball disappeared and Duan Xinni fell to the ground heavily. Because the black ball had absorbed all her energy, she could only lie on the ground helplessly. Before she could regain her strength, the soldiers grabbed her and pulled her up from the ground.

Seeing that she had no chance to escape, Duan Xinni used all her remaining strength to secretly take something out of the pocket of her thick winter coat. While the soldiers tied her up, she secretly threw away that thing.

After tying her up, the soldiers looked at Xiu Wu and said, "Captain Xiu, we will take her to the prison now. Thank you for your hard work."

Leaving these words behind, the soldiers dragged the unwilling Duan Xinni to the underground prison. After they left, Zhu Lin walked to the bushes and picked up something. Seeing her squatting there, Xiu Wu raised his eyebrows slightly and asked curiously: "Lin’er, what are you doing?"

Zhu Lin stood up, showed him the thing between her thumb and index fingers, and said, "That woman just threw this thing away."

When Xiu Wu saw what that thing was, his eyes flickered. He quickly approached her and took the little thing from her fingers. After realizing what it was, his face darkened and he said, "When that woman hid in the container, she did something to the batteries."

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Before he could explain clearly to Zhu Lin, there were loud explosion noises from the direction of Sector C. Looking at the huge fire in the distance, Xiu Wu’s jaw tightened. He turned to look at Zhu Lin and said, "Lin’er, can you help me evacuate the civilians near Sector C?"

Zhu Lin nodded, and Xiu Wu quickly ran into the security building and headed towards the monitoring room.

When he walked into the monitoring room, he saw Ji Yang busy giving orders to soldiers and guards to evacuate civilians and put out the fire. Walking to the main screen, Xiu Wu quickly typed a few strings of command on the keyboard, and the main screen changed into the surveillance cameras in Sector C. Unfortunately, there are only static lines on the main screen because all the surveillance cameras in Sector C were lost after the explosion.

Noticing that Xiu Wu knew something about the sudden explosion, Ji Yang put down the communication device, looked at him, and asked, "Lao Xiu, what happened just now? Why did a big explosion happen suddenly? Do you know something about this matter?"

Xiu Wu put the little thing that Zhu Lin picked up on the table and said, "I caught the spy in a container in the power storage system area. But before I caught her, that woman did something to one of the power storage batteries. This is an oversight on my part. I should have checked the battery before I left."

Ji Yang looked at his frowning face, patted his shoulder and said, "Don’t blame yourself. We still have a lot of materials to build another power storage system. We just need to live without electricity for a while."

Xiu Wu turned to look at Ji Yang and said with a heavy expression: "I’m afraid we don’t have that much time to build another power storage system."

When Ji Yang heard Xiu Wu’s words, his face became serious and asked: "Lao Xiu, what do you mean?"
