Throwing the report on the table, Lei Tiliang rubbed his brows to suppress his anger. After a long silence, he finally calmed down and asked, "Why didn’t anyone report to me when Zhicheng left with so many supplies?"

The personal assistant pushed up his glasses slightly and said, "The soldiers working in the weapons warehouse thought you had permitted the young master to get the supplies. Therefore, they gave him the supplies he requested."

Listening to his answer, Lei Tiliang felt that his blood pressure immediately rose. He clasped his hands tightly while trying to suppress his anger. After a while, he took a deep breath and said, "Punish those soldiers who don’t follow the rules. As for Zhicheng, just send a team of supernatural beings to find him. I want him alive."

The assistant noted down his orders, nodded, and replied calmly: "Yes, Chairman."

After saying that, he left the office. When the door closed, Lei Tiliang suddenly coughed violently. He coughed for a long time before he managed to stop. Lei Tiliang propped his weak body on the table while panting heavily, and looking at his blood-stained palm.

He clenched his blood-stained palm and said angrily with a hoarse voice: "Why did they all choose to go against me?! Even Zhicheng dared to betray me! I must catch Haozhan as soon as possible before my time runs out."

After speaking, he picked up the communication device and dialed a string of code. He waited for a while before the other person answered the phone.

"Mhm..." A lazy voice replied languidly after three seconds of silence.

Hearing Lei Chengyun’s lazy voice, Lei Tiliang took a deep breath to calm down and said calmly: "Chengyun, have you finished the program that Grandpa asked for?"

Opening his eyes, Lei Chengyun rubbed his stiff neck and said in a sleepy voice: "It’s ready."

After finishing speaking, he typed on the keyboard and said, "I have already sent it to the headquarters’ server."

Lei Chengyun hung up the phone before Lei Tiliang could say anything. Taking the communication device off from his ear, Lei Chengyun lay on the table and continued to sleep. In the office, Lei Tiliang felt like his heart was being pressed by a big stone because of anger. He felt very uncomfortable, threw away the communication device, and cursed.

"A bunch of white-eyed wolves!"

When Lei Tiliang was frantically looking for Lei Zhicheng and Lei Haozhan, time passed quickly. Because the Wu Lin base was locked down since the third cold wave, people in the Wu Lin base had nothing much to do and spent their days peacefully. Without them realizing it, more than three months have passed since the third cold wave hit the world.

One day, while Zhu Lin was cultivating, she was interrupted by cheers and commotions from the outside. She opened her eyes and then looked out of the floor-to-ceiling windows. Watching the sunlight piercing the dark snow clouds, she stood up from the bed and left her bedroom.

When she came to the living room, she found no one at home. Thinking about what she had just seen from the window, Zhu Lin left the villa. The moment she opened the door, she could hear the cheerful conversations outside.

"The weather is so nice today. After months of looking at the gloomy winter sky, today we can finally feel the sunshine." A woman said to her companions as they walked past the villa.

After hearing what she said, Zhu Lin decided to go to Sector E to take a look at the outside. She walked for more than thirty minutes before arriving at the gate between the resort area and Sector E.

Seeing the crowds at the door, Zhu Lin asked a guard: "Why are there so many people going out today?"

The security guard smiled at her and said, "The temperature has been rising since last night. The temperature outside the base is currently only minus thirty degrees Celsius. This morning, Brother Ji announced the end of the base lockdown. So, they all went out to hunt for zombies, mutant beasts, and mutant plants since most of them used up their crystal nucleus."

After listening to his answer, Zhu Lin thought for a while and said, "I see. Thank you for answering my question."

The guard scratched his cheek shyly and said, "Miss Zhu, you are too polite. This is my duty."

After bidding farewell to the guard, Zhu Lin left the resort area and entered Sector E. Unlike the resort area behind the wall, Sector E is not only inhabited by supernatural beings. With the participation of ordinary people and traveling merchants, Sector E evolved from a residential area to a market area in just three months.

While looking around the stalls, Zhu Lin walked leisurely towards the entrance of Sector E. Soon, she arrived at the entrance area of Sector E. Seeing a long queue in front of the mission center and at the main entrance, she thought about it for a moment, and went to the mission center.

The staff sitting behind the counter saw her coming and asked with a smile: "Miss Zhu, good morning. What can I do for you?"

Zhu Lin nodded to her and said, "Good morning. Can I see the mission list?"

Upon hearing her request, the staff raised her eyebrows slightly and then brought out a list of available missions for her.

Placing the book in front of her, the staff said, "The missions listed here are all available. Miss Zhu, you can take a look at the missions first, then tell me whether you want to accept the mission or not."

Zhu Lin nodded to the staff, took the book, and stood aside. Just as she was checking the mission list, the staff looked at the middle-aged man standing in front of the counter and asked, "Sir, is there anything I can help you with?"

The middle-aged man nodded, showed her a badge, and said, "I want to get my salary."
