Chapter 222: Escape

Now that their leader has decided to go to the Wu Lin base, then the other zombies have no objections. After that, the male zombie uses his detection ability to scout the area. A few minutes later, the group of more than thirty zombies left the abandoned building when nobody was around.

Unfortunately, before they could leave the area, one of their pursuers saw them and shouted: "There they are!"

Because of that loud shout, the others turned their heads to look in the direction of the zombies. Seeing the zombies running fast towards the outside of the city, the leader shouted: "Catch them alive! Don’t let them get away!"

As soon as these words came out, more than thirty people got on their snowmobiles. Although the road was destroyed, snowmobiles could still travel smoothly because of the thick snow covering the ground.

Seeing the pursuers getting closer and closer, the leader of the zombie said, "Roar!" Scatter!

As soon as he said this, all the zombies ran in different directions. Ren Jiaxiang found that most of the pursuers were chasing him, so he shouted: "Roar!" Let’s meet again at the Wu Lin base!

Hearing his words, the other zombies roared at the same time as an answer.

"Roar, roar!" Be safe, everyone!

"Roar!" All right!

"Roar!" Don’t die!

Listening to these roars, the leader gritted his teeth and said, "Damn it! They can really communicate with each other!"

While chasing Ren Jiaxiang, the leader of the pursuers pressed the communicator next to his ear and said, "Capture them alive!"

The next second, the other pursuers received the order and said, "Yes, Captain."

Five hours later, while the snowfall was getting heavier and heavier, Ren Jiaxiang finally got rid of his pursuers. He hid under a pile of snow, hiding under a big rock, and scanned the area for a while. When he was sure that no one was chasing him, he crawled out of the snow.

After taking a few steps, Ren Jiaxiang found that his movements were stiffer than usual. He looked at his body and found that his joints were frozen because of the snow. He had no expression on his face and ran towards the Wu Lin base as fast as he could without stopping.

He stared in one direction and didn’t stop running until he saw the famous thick fog hidden behind the veil of heavy snowfall. Seeing the strange phenomenon in front of him, Ren Jiaxiang looked around and decided to wait for his friends before entering the fog.

If he wants to find the Wu Lin base safely, he needs Wu Yichen’s detection ability and eyesight ability. After all, the rumors about this Wu Lin base are really weird and hard to believe. Out of all the rumors, the one about the thick fog is the only one that has been confirmed so far.

Three days ago, when Ren Jiaxiang and his friends had just escaped from the secret laboratory, they accidentally heard about the Wu Lin base from conversations between the mid-ranked zombies. At that time, Ren Jiaxiang and his friends did not believe it at all when they learned that there was a base that accepted and protected zombies.

But after hearing the same rumors from other zombies and overhearing casual conversations between a few groups of supernatural beings, they finally decide to head to the Wu Lin base.

Ren Jiaxiang bet everything on his intuition that they could find a place to live peacefully in Wu Lin base. They bravely overcome all dangers along the way and at the same time evade the pursuit of secret organization personnel.

Now, he just had to patiently wait for his friends to arrive and pray that at least one of the rumors was true. Otherwise, their only way out is to fight to the death with the secret organization.

Time passed slowly as Ren Jiaxiang waited for his friends. While he was waiting, the temperature became lower and lower. Two days later, when the moon was still hanging high in the gloomy winter sky, Ren Jiaxiang finally saw someone approaching at a fast speed. Judging from that person’s movements, he concluded that the person was a zombie.

He observed the zombie for a while before he saw the zombie’s face. Seeing that half of her face was destroyed, Ren Jiaxiang was furious. He quickly rushed out of his hiding place and stopped the anxious and scared zombies.

Ren Jiaxiang grabbed her wrist and asked, "Roar? Roar?" Xi Xi, what’s wrong with your face? How did you become like this?

Tan Yuxi was grabbed by the wrist and raised her claws to attack out of instinct, but stopped when she heard the roar. She looked at Ren Jiaxiang’s handsome face and frowned. As a zombie, she cannot cry and has no tears. Therefore, even though she wanted to cry at the moment, a scary frown appeared on that ruined face instead of tears.

Ren Jiaxiang looked at her expression and said, "Hoo." Follow me.

Ren Jiaxiang went to his hiding place with Tan Yuxi following him. After they took cover under the snow, he scanned the area. After making sure no one was around, he looked at Tan Yuxi and asked, "Roar?" What happened to you after we left the small town?

Tan Yuxi held his hands tightly and said, "Hoo... ho, ho. Roar." After I left the town, I ran towards the mountain but was surrounded by those people. Fortunately, I took advantage of the terrain and managed to escape.

Ren Jiaxiang wiped away the dark and sticky blood on her half-destroyed face with his fingers, and asked, "Roar?" Why did your face become like this?

Hearing his question, Tan Yuxi raised her hand and touched her left cheek. Because she can’t feel anything after becoming a zombie, she doesn’t know how bad she looks now. But judging from Ren Jiaxiang’s gloomy expression and cold eyes, she knew that her face must be destroyed along with her left eye.
