The sleeping rabbit on the bed was awakened by Zhu Lin’s panicked cry. Tu Tu jumped up quickly and asked, [Master! Where are you?! What happened?!]

Hearing Tu Tu’s answer, Zhu Lin hurriedly said, [I’m in the living room! Quick! Come and save me!]

As soon as Tu Tu heard her words, he rushed out of the bedroom. Before Tu Tu could say anything, the rabbit saw its master sitting on Xiu Wu’s lap with a red face, and their bodies pressing each other intimately.

"....." Tu Tu looked at the scene in front of it and was speechless.

The rabbit rolled its eyes, returned to the bedroom and said, [Master, just enjoy your spring time. Why do you need to wake me up from my sweet dream? I’m going back to sleep.]

Zhu Lin was dumbfounded when she heard what her rabbit said. Before she could stop Tu Tu, Xiu Wu found her looking into the bedroom.

The corner of his lips curved up slightly as he asked, "Xiao Lin, do you want to sleep together?"

Hearing his shocking question, Zhu Lin came back to her senses. She quickly broke away from his arm around her waist and stood up. Zhu Lin didn’t even dare to look at him and said hurriedly: "I’m going to bed."

After leaving these words, she rushed into the bedroom. She closed the door, made a simple hand seal, and set up a barrier around her bedroom. After doing all of this, she patted her chest and breathed a sigh of relief.

Tu Tu sat on the bed, looked at her curiously, and asked, "Master, what are you doing?"

Zhu Lin turned to look at her rabbit and said, "Set up a barrier."

Tu Tu tilted its head slightly and asked in confusion: "For what?"

Walking to the bed, Zhu Lin lay down, closed her eyes, and said, "To prevent anyone from sneaking in while I’m sleeping."

Hearing her answer, Tu Tu remembered what it had just seen in the living room. The rabbit stared at the closed door for a while, then turned to look at its master and thought: ’It seems that even if the Devil God becomes human, my master still cannot defeat him.’

When Zhu Lin gradually calmed down and fell asleep, Xiu Wu who was sitting in the living room couldn’t sleep at all and kept staring at the bedroom door. After a long time, he sighed, ruffled his hair, and thought: ’It’s not because of the mysterious voice, but because I really like her.’

He sighed again and leaned back on the old sofa, staring at the ceiling. When the first ray of sunlight broke through from the eastern horizon, Xiu Wu thought to himself: ’Xiu Wu, since you finally accept that you like her, then try your best to make her like you too.’

Thinking like that, he closed his eyes and fell asleep after a while. Two hours later, when Zhu Lin walked out of the bedroom, she saw Xiu Wu sleeping soundly on the old sofa. Seeing him sleeping like this, she felt sorry for him.

Zhu Lin sighed, returned to the bedroom, and got the quilt. After covering Xiu Wu with a quilt, she stared at him for a long time. Looking at that familiar face, she couldn’t help but sigh again and whispered softly: "Zhu Lin, you are asking for trouble."

When she walked to the kitchen, Xiu Wu opened his eyes. He looked at the quilt that was covering him with a smile on his lips. He looked toward the kitchen for a moment, then closed his eyes and went back to sleep contentedly.

An hour later, as soon as Zhu Lin finished roasting sweet potatoes, the apartment door opened and Tan Wei walked in. He glanced at the sleeping children, the three babies and Xiu Wu in the living room. Hearing a sound coming from the kitchen, he walked towards the kitchen as quietly as possible.

Before he could say hello to the busy Zhu Lin, she had already turned around and asked, "Did you not sleep well last night?"

Tan Wei sat down at the chair, rubbed his brows tiredly, and said, "Lao Yang and I went to check some information last night."

Looking at his tired and slightly pale face, Zhu Lin took out a tea set and a can of spiritual tea leaves from the ice flower pendant. She brewed a pot of spiritual tea and brought it to the dining table.

While pouring a cup of spiritual tea for Tan Wei, she asked, "What information did you two find out last night?"

Tan Wei thanked her for the tea and took a sip. He felt better as his headache was relieved a lot. He smiled and asked, "Didn’t Lao Xiu say that he wants to build our own base?"

Zhu Lin nodded, and then Tan Wei said, "You also know that to build our own base, we need a lot of materials and manpower. Last night, Lao Yang and I inquired around and found out that most of the people who are willing to work as coolies are ordinary people. They don’t want crystal nucleus, but only want food and water as payment."

After hearing what he said, Zhu Lin nodded and said, "That is a good thing. Why do you look so troubled?"

Tan Wei looked at her and said, "It would be better if what they want is the crystal nucleus, because we can just go out and kill zombies or mutants directly. But since they want food and water, we have to buy it from others."

He then let out a sigh and said, "It will take longer for us to collect enough food and water to hire these people. Also, we need to find the materials to build the wall and check the location before we can start the construction. I doubt we will be able to move into our own base before winter comes."
