Chapter 118: We Will Meet Again

After saying that, Xiu Wu looked at Zhu Lin silently. He waited for a few minutes, but Zhu Lin remained silent.

Seeing her like this, he smiled sadly and said, "Lin’er, can’t you forgive me? I know I failed to keep our promise before. But wasn’t everything that I did right now is for our future? I can’t watch you die for me and do nothing. Even if you hate me and never forgive me, I still love you, my wife. I hope one day you can understand and forgive me."

Ji Yang and Tan Wei who were standing on the side were shocked and speechless. Both of them knew that it was not their best friend who was speaking now, but the consciousness living inside Xiu Wu’s mind.

Just as the two of them looked at each other, Xiu Wu felt the painful headache come again. He gritted his teeth and endured the pain, while muttering: "I’m still too weak."

After saying that, he looked at Zhu Lin and said, "Lin’er, wait for me. I will fulfill our promise."

Without waiting for Zhu Lin to answer, Xiu Wu leaned forward and kissed her deeply. Ji Yang, Tan Wei and Tu Tu were all stunned when they saw Xiu Wu kissing Zhu Lin while ignoring the three of them who were still standing there.

Two minutes later, Xiu Wu parted his lips from hers, and looked into Zhu Lin’s confused eyes. Seeing her panting and hearing her rapid heartbeat, Xiu Wu kissed her forehead, nose, eyes, cheeks, and finally placed a long and gentle kiss on her lips.

When the headache got worse, Xiu Wu reluctantly let her go and whispered: "Lin’er, we will meet again soon. When the time comes, I hope you will also remember our past."

As soon as these words came out, Xiu Wu lost consciousness. Ji Yang and Tan Wei came to their senses and quickly supported Xiu Wu’s body, which fell into Zhu Lin’s arms.

"Lao Xiu, Lao Xiu! Can you hear me?!" Tan Wei asked anxiously, while patting Xiu Wu’s cheek.

Seeing that he had no reaction at all, Ji Yang said, "This won’t work. Let’s find a place to stay first."

"Alright."

After saying that, Tan Wei picked up Xiu Wu on his back and ran back to the village entrance in a hurry. Before leaving, Ji Yang turned to look at Zhu Lin and saw that she was still squatting on the ground in a daze. Ji Yang knew that she was the most shocked person among them, so he quickly ran back, grabbed her wrist, and dragged her with him.

When they ran back to the entrance of the village, the little zombie suddenly jumped down from the high electric pole. The little zombie stared at the direction they were going for a while, then ran in that direction.

Thirty minutes later, Tan Wei kicked open the door of one of the houses. He went inside and saw a bed in one of the rooms. He put Xiu Wu on the bed and said, "Lao Yang, hurry up!"

Ji Yang quickly came over and took Xiu Wu’s pulse. When he couldn’t find a pulse, he put his ear to Xiu Wu’s chest, but heard nothing. Preparing for the worst, he put his index finger under Xiu Wu’s nose and cursed loudly.

"Fuck! Xiao Wei, CPR! Hurry up!"

Tan Wei quickly climbed up the bed and started performing CPR, while Ji Yang took out the first aid kit from his space. He took out the bag valve mask, put it on Xiu Wu, and started pumping oxygen into his lungs. When Zhu Lin finally recovered from the shock, this was what she saw.

Seeing the sweat on Tan Wei and Ji Yang’s anxious faces, Zhu Lin finally reacted. She quickly walked to the bed and saw Xiu Wu lying there motionless.

Ignoring her, Ji Yang checked Xiu Wu’s breath again and said, "Keep going!"

Tan Wei gritted his teeth and shouted: "Lao Xiu, come back!"

Zhu Lin didn’t know what happened and asked, "He... What happened to him?"

Hearing her question, Tan Wei gasped and said, "Lao Xiu suddenly fell to the ground and now, he has stopped breathing."

Zhu Lin was taken aback by his words and didn’t know what to do for a moment. Ji Yang saw her confused look and said nothing. Five minutes later, Xiu Wu suddenly took a breath and coughed heavily.

"Cough! Cough!"

Tan Wei and Ji Yang were so happy that they cried when they saw him waking up. Tan Wei couldn’t hold back his feelings, hugged Xiu Wu and said, "Lao Xiu, you finally opened your eyes! Do you know how worried we are?!"

Unlike the emotional Tan Wei, Ji Yang wiped his sweat with his shirt and then smiled at Xiu Wu. He put away the CPR equipment and said calmly, "Lao Xiu, how do you feel?"

Xiu Wu felt that his head hurt so much, as if it would explode in the next second, but he just frowned slightly. He looked at his two best friends and asked, "What happened?"

Hearing his question, Tan Wei and Ji Yang looked at each other for a moment. Tan Wei got off the bed and asked, "You don’t remember anything?"

Listening to his question, Xiu Wu tried to recall what happened, but his headache made him frown more. Seeing him like this, Ji Yang said, "When Xiao Lin took off the bracelet and spoke, you suddenly fell to the ground. Then..."

Xiu Wu looked at him and saw him glance at Zhu Lin. Seeing his two friends looking at Zhu Lin, Xiu Wu asked, "Then what?"

Ji Yang coughed and said hesitantly: "Then... You forcefully kissed Xiao Lin and spoke in a language we couldn’t understand."

As soon as these words came out, Xiu Wu looked up and saw Zhu Lin staring at him with complicated emotions in her eyes. This was the first time he had seen her show such emotion. He even saw joy, hope and love in her eyes that she didn’t notice.
