Chapter 182: Chapter 182: The Embarrassed Three_1

Inside the shop.

Qin Feiyang leisurely looked around the items on display.

The shop’s owner was a middle-aged portly man; though not as remarkably stout as Fatty, he eagerly followed Qin Feiyang, incessantly introducing the items.

Fatty called out, "Boss, it’s time to leave!"

"Mm," Qin Feiyang nodded.

The portly shop owner immediately looked disappointed. This was a big potential customer, but unfortunately, nothing had been sold.

"Hm?"

Qin Feiyang was about to turn when he suddenly spotted a fiery-red jade pendant.

The portly shop owner’s eyes lit up, and he immediately began to introduce it enthusiastically.

"Young Master Jian, this jade pendant is called the Flame Phoenix. Look at its color—so vibrant! And this phoenix motif, isn’t it exquisite? To tell you the truth, Young Master Jian, this Flame Phoenix was carved by the most renowned master craftsman in Yan City, using the finest fire jade. Leaving aside its intrinsic value, the craftsmanship alone makes it a collector’s item."

The portly shop owner spoke effusively, praising it to the skies.

Qin Feiyang asked, "Get to the point. How much?"

The portly shop owner extended his hand and said, "Five hundred thousand Gold Coins."

"Five hundred thousand Gold Coins?"

Fatty shrieked, walked over, glanced at the so-called Flame Phoenix, and sneered, "We’re not idiots. Give us a fair price, or we’re leaving."

The portly shop owner chuckled awkwardly. "Four hundred thousand Gold Coins. I can’t go any lower."

Fatty scoffed. "You’re making more profit than we do selling Elixirs! Fifty thousand Gold Coins is the most we’ll offer. Take it or leave it."

The portly shop owner’s face twitched as he forced a bitter smile. "Brother Fatty, you’re driving a very hard bargain!"

His eyes were filled with resentment, as if to say, Brother Fatty, we’re both portly fellows; why must you make things so difficult for another portly man?

"If you won’t sell, we’re off," Fatty declared, completely disregarding the shop owner’s plaintive look and starting to drag Qin Feiyang towards the exit.

The portly shop owner gritted his teeth. "Since Young Master Jian has graced my shop, I must sell it, even at a loss! Fifty thousand Gold Coins it is!"

"Now that’s more like it!" Fatty grinned triumphantly.

Qin Feiyang then asked, "Do you have any more? If there’s only one, I don’t want it."

Upon hearing this, the portly shop owner’s expression became complicated. The more he sold, the more he would lose. Yet, he was very keen to do business with Qin Feiyang.

He gritted his teeth again and nodded. "Yes, I have four more!"

Fatty exclaimed, "Damn it! Haven’t you ever heard that scarcity increases value? You have so many; calling it a rare collectible is bullshit! For fifty thousand Gold Coins, even Master Fatty thinks that’s too much now."

The portly shop owner said bitterly, "My dear Master Fatty, I assure you, I truly am selling these at a loss. I swear to heavens!"

Qin Feiyang chuckled. "Alright, alright. Wrap them up for me."

"Right away!" The portly shop owner scurried off to prepare the items.

Qin Feiyang took out his Qiankun Bag. Upon inspecting it closely, dark lines creased his forehead. Inside the spacious Qiankun Bag, there wasn’t a single Gold Coin.

He glared at Fatty and snapped, "Didn’t I tell you very clearly to leave me some spending money? Now there isn’t even a single silver coin! How am I supposed to pay?"

"Err..."

Both Qin Feiyang and Shi Zheng were stunned.

The portly shop owner was also petrified on the spot.

A renowned Top Grade Alchemist, actually broke?

Fatty shrank back slightly and chuckled sheepishly. "The financial power is now in Lu Hong’s hands. Master Fatty can’t make that decision. If you want to settle accounts, you’ll have to find her."

Qin Feiyang fumed.

This guy is such a troublemaker! This is so embarrassing!

"Jian Haotian, you seem to be rather short on cash for an Alchemist. How about I lend you some?"

Just then, Xue Yang walked in, accompanied by a young man and woman.

Fatty frowned and said in a low voice, "Boss, that’s Xue Yang. The other two are also Core Disciples of the Elixir King Palace. The man is Xie Fang, and the woman is Wang Xia."

Qin Feiyang said, "I know he’s Xue Yang. We met once before at the Treasure Pavilion."

Xue Yang glanced at Qin Feiyang’s group, then looked at Qin Feiyang with a playful sneer. "Well? Need a loan? I won’t even charge you interest."

Shi Zheng stepped forward and stated calmly, "It’s only two hundred and fifty thousand Gold Coins, what’s the big deal? I’ll pay."

A cold glint flashed in the depths of Xue Yang’s eyes. He turned to the portly shop owner and declared, "Whatever Jian Haotian is buying, I’ll take it all. And I’ll pay double!"

"This..." The portly shop owner looked conflicted. He dared not offend Qin Feiyang, nor Xue Yang, who was a Direct Disciple of Jia Hei.

He pleaded, "Young Master Xue, could you and Young Master Jian perhaps resolve your differences elsewhere? I’m just a small merchant. Please don’t make things difficult for me."

"What? You have an issue with that?" Xue Yang glared, his expression turning hostile.

"No, no, no! How would I dare have an issue?" The portly shop owner quickly waved his hands, then looked at Qin Feiyang with pleading eyes, hoping he would yield.

Qin Feiyang’s eyes flashed. "It seems the lesson I taught you last time wasn’t profound enough."

At the mention of that incident, Xue Yang’s face contorted with rage.

Qin Feiyang, however, paid him no mind and said lightly, "Everything I want, you also want? Are you certain?"

"Absolutely!" Xue Yang bit out each word, his heart consumed by hatred.

"Alright, you’re a man of your word, then." Qin Feiyang gave Xue Yang a thumbs-up, then turned to the portly shop owner. "I’ll take everything in this shop. Do you understand? Everything."

"AH!" The portly shop owner’s jaw dropped.

"A brilliant move!" Shi Zheng praised inwardly. This way, not only could he help the shopkeeper out of this predicament, but he could also thoroughly screw Xue Yang over. It was truly killing two birds with one stone!

Xue Yang clenched his fists, his gaze turning frighteningly dark.

"Oh?" Fatty jeered, "Young Master Xue, why so quiet? Let Master Fatty remind you: you’re Jia Hei’s disciple. If you go back on your word, it’s not just your face you’ll lose, but your master’s too."

Xue Yang roared, "You damned Fatty! Say that again, and I’ll cripple you!"

"Go on, do it! If you don’t cripple me today, you’re Master Fatty’s great-grandson!" Fatty stepped forward, taunting him provocatively.

"You’re courting death!" A vicious glint flashed in Xue Yang’s eyes.

Just as he raised his hand, Xie Fang, who was beside him, grabbed it. "Brother Xue, don’t let him provoke you," Xie Fang urged, shaking his head.

Wang Xia nodded in agreement. "The Royal Palace is right nearby. If you start a fight here, not even Elder Jia can save you. Showing a little forbearance won’t cost you anything."

Fatty gave Xie Fang and Wang Xia a thumbs-up and chuckled. "Props to both of you."

Xie Fang and Wang Xia both raised their eyebrows, cold glints in their eyes.

"Pathetic," Fatty waved his hand dismissively. Looking at Xue Yang, he said, "They’re right. You should just suck it up. After all, being a spineless coward is all you’re good for."

Xie Fang frowned. "Fatty, don’t push it!"

Fatty retorted, "Well, well! I thought you were smart, but it turns out you’re an idiot too. Trying to stick up for him?"

Xie Fang countered, "If you have the guts, let’s settle this in the competition arena. Don’t just stand here running your mouth."

Fatty looked Xie Fang up and down. "Sorry, but Master Fatty’s guiding principle is to use words whenever possible and avoid physical confrontation." After a moment’s thought, he added, "Besides, you can’t even win a verbal spar against me. What makes you think you’re qualified to fight Master Fatty? Go take a long look in the mirror after you take a piss!"

Xie Fang’s eyes blazed with anger. This damned Fatty’s mouth really needs a beating!

Seeing Xie Fang also becoming infuriated, Wang Xia’s pupils constricted. She hurriedly tried to pull both men away.

Fatty sneered, "People with such low intelligence shouldn’t wander around in public; they just end up embarrassing themselves."

"Bastard!"

"I’ll destroy you!"

Xue Yang and Xie Fang roared in unison and charged at Fatty. Wang Xia couldn’t hold them back this time.

"STOP!"

Just then, a cold voice commanded. The First Prince and Lin Hao walked in, one after the other.

"The main actors have arrived," Fatty muttered, tactfully retreating to Qin Feiyang’s side.

The First Prince shot a cold glance at Xue Yang’s group and demanded angrily, "What is going on here? How dare you cause a disturbance in this place? Are you looking to die?"

"Hmph, keep up the act," Fatty sneered under his breath.

It was obvious to any discerning eye that Xue Yang and his companions were acting under someone’s orders. And that someone was undoubtedly the First Prince.

Xue Yang glared at Qin Feiyang’s party and said, "Your Highness, they were the ones who provoked us first! Especially that damned Fatty! He’s incredibly arrogant and even insulted Your Highness!"

The First Prince turned to Fatty, his gaze chilling slightly.

Shi Zheng frowned, his expression impassive. "Xue Yang, think before you speak."

Xue Yang retorted angrily, "Elder Shi, you’re siding with them, so of course you’d speak up for them!"

"Impudent!" Shi Zheng thundered, his anger flaring. He stepped forward, grabbed Xue Yang by the arm, and declared, "I’m taking you to the Elixir King Palace this instant! I want to ask Elder Jia just how he educates his disciples!"

Xue Yang’s face immediately turned deathly pale.

Qin Feiyang smiled faintly. "Your Highness, how do you intend to deal with these troublemakers? If this isn’t handled properly, I’m afraid the First Prince’s reputation might be tarnished today."

The First Prince was inwardly seething. He had intended to use this situation to dampen Qin Feiyang’s spirit, but he hadn’t expected to dig a pit only to fall into it himself. If this matter escalated, they would be the ones to suffer. After all, the owner of this shop had witnessed the entire incident. Although he could threaten the portly shop owner, Qin Feiyang’s group had the backing of the Martial King Palace. Therefore, the shop owner would inevitably tell the truth in the end.

SLAP!

Without hesitation, the First Prince struck Xue Yang across the face. A bright red palm print instantly appeared.

Xue Yang was stunned.

The First Prince, however, ignored him and turned to Qin Feiyang with a smile. "Is Brother Jian satisfied now?"

"What do you think?" Qin Feiyang retorted.

SLAP! SLAP!

The First Prince then slapped both Xie Fang and Wang Xia. Smiling, he asked, "And now?"

Qin Feiyang smiled. "Your Highness is truly impartial. I, Jian, am impressed."

The First Prince said, "It is merely my duty. I wonder what brings Brother Jian to the East City? If there’s anything I can assist with, please don’t hesitate to ask."

"If I truly require Your Highness’s assistance, I certainly won’t stand on ceremony," Qin Feiyang said with a smile. He then turned to the portly shop owner and asked, "Shopkeeper, are the items wrapped?"

"All wrapped up." The portly shop owner pushed an exquisite wooden box towards Qin Feiyang, a hint of gratitude in his eyes.

Shi Zheng released Xue Yang, settled the bill for the pendants, and then remarked to Xue Yang, "Young man, you should focus on self-improvement and not just go around stirring up trouble. It won’t benefit your future."

"Elder Shi is correct." The First Prince smiled, then barked at the trio—Xue Yang, Xie Fang, and Wang Xia, "What are you waiting for? Apologize to Elder Shi at once!"

The three of them bowed and said, "Elder Shi, we apologize. We were impolite earlier. We hope Elder Shi can forgive us."

Shi Zheng said, "It’s fine. Let the matter be."

"Thank you for your magnanimity, Elder Shi," the three said, bowing once more.
