In the heart of the Casting Cloud Sect, atop Unnamed Peak.

Li Ping’an, not wanting to disturb his master, simply arranged a few chairs in front of the cave dwelling and invited the four senior brothers to take a seat.

A civil war had erupted within the Wanyun Sect ten thousand years ago, affecting these four elders and old ladies;

Those Heavenly Immortals who had connections with Demon Cultivators and attempted to seize control of the Wanyun Sect were tearfully executed by Daoist Kongming.

These four were implicated, but without any direct connection to the Demon Cultivators, they were thus exiled by Daoist Kongming to the lands beyond the heavens.

Their exile spanned ten thousand years.

All four had been as close as brothers with the Golden Immortal Yun Ting, who had always been pleading on their behalf.

Initially, Li Ping’an was concerned that the return of these four to the Wanyun Sect might affect his own father.

But now, having confirmed they were innocent of wicked deeds, there was no longer any need for concern.

The atmosphere within the Casting Cloud Sect was harmonious, with disciples from the original two sects closely united around Li Dazhi, each contributing their own strength to the establishment of the New Heavenly Court as soon as possible.

“Heavenly Emperor,” the old lady known as Qiyun said warmly, “we’ve heard of your intent to expand the influence of the Heavenly Court within the minor worlds beyond the heavens.

After discussing amongst ourselves, we decided to come forth and report a matter to you.”

“Oh?”

Li Ping’an smiled casually, “I appreciate it, senior brothers.

May I know what guidance you have to offer?”

Daoist Leiyun was a burly man with a formidable appearance.

He was the first to become a disciple of Daoist Kongming and also the eldest among them.

Unfortunately, he was stuck at the peak of the Heavenly Immortal Realm and had always been unable to transcend life and death.

—When Daoist Kongming once told Li Dazhi to “call back your eldest senior brother to accept Ping’an as his disciple,” he was referring to this Daoist Leiyun.

Daoist Leiyun said with folded hands:

“Heavenly Emperor, we are all aware that the Western Sect is behind the Myriad Demon Heaven.

“Originally, we dared not offend the Western Sect or speak of this matter.

“But, our enmity with the Myriad Demon Heaven is as deep as the Sea of Blood, and we must seek vengeance for the murder of our master.

Even if it means we perish and our Tao vanishes, we will settle the score with them!

“Therefore, we must report this to you, to allow you to prepare in advance.”

Li Ping’an’s expression became much more serious, “Please continue.”

Each of the four spoke up:

“This is what we incidentally witnessed during our travels in the outer worlds…”

“You may not be aware, but beyond the realm of the heavens, there are thousands of minor worlds, large and small, suitable for habitation.

Though they are called minor worlds, some have all five elements and are very vast, capable of housing billions of mortals with ease!”

“However, there are few masters in the outer regions because, when it comes to cultivation and enlightenment, the main world is somewhat easier.”

“In ancient times, many beings fled to the outer worlds seeking refuge, and these minor worlds are now mainly dominated by experts of the Hundred Clans.

Qi Cultivators of the Human Race are rare, and each world has developed its own name.

“There is a realm called [Misty Realm], situated slightly to the northwest of the main world.

At the escape velocity of an ordinary Heavenly Immortal, it takes more than two months to traverse there.

“About two thousand years ago, the four of us happened to visit this realm and participated in a ‘Demon Subjugation and Dao Conference.’

Li Ping’an expressed his curiosity, “A Demon Subjugation and Dao Conference?

Who organized it?”

Daoist Qiyun hastily replied, “The Misty Realm is populated by tens of millions of mortals and countless Qi Cultivators.

Three powers have emerged there, each with a Golden Immortal presiding.

The conference was organized by a major power known as the ‘Sky Amber Monastery.’

“Then,” Daoist Leiyun sighed, “the four of us were half a day late because we were hurrying on the road.

Just half a day.

When we reached the boundary of the conference’s array, we smelled blood.”

The gazes of the four Yunxians displayed hints of horror.

Daoist Leiyun continued in a low voice:

“We mustered our courage to investigate and saw that the conference arena was littered with corpses, with the bodies of at least a thousand Qi Cultivators lying everywhere, and hundreds of hideous beasts were feasting on their remains.

“Sitting in the center of the venue were several hundred experts, seemingly indifferent to the carnage around them.

“There was a woman with a kind and gentle appearance, bathed in serene and auspicious light, of a middle-aged look, dressed in a light yellow robe, sitting in front of these experts, continually chanting scriptures.”

The Daoist who had been silent up until now said softly, “It’s the Western Sect’s ‘Thousand Demon Transmutation Mantra.'”

Li Ping’an leaned back, frowning, “Are you saying that the Sky Amber Monastery is part of the Western Sect’s influence, that they’ve nurtured a large number of fierce demons, and under the guise of holding a conference, lured independent masters there to use the Transmutation Mantra on them?”

“Exactly.”

“We didn’t dare to investigate further into the array, so we quietly slipped away using the Hidden Cloud Technique.”

“It’s shameful to admit,” Daoist Leiyun sighed, “that although we discovered this, we also did not dare to expose what the Sky Amber Monastery had done, for fear of being implicated and hunted down.

Afterwards, we went into hiding.”

“About a thousand years later, we heard that the Sky Amber Monastery was convening another Dao Conference, and many Loose Cultivators went there upon hearing about it.”

“This matter has always been a knot in our hearts, but counting the days, if the Sky Amber Monastery organizes a Dao Conference every thousand years, I’m afraid…

it’s about time.”

Li Ping’an mused for a few moments, then nodded slowly.

The Misty Realm, the Sky Amber Monastery?

“Thank you, senior brothers.

I’ll have someone look into this discreetly.”

The four stood up to take their leave with a bow.

Daoist Leiyun asked, “Your Majesty, will this help in dealing with the Myriad Demon Heaven?”

“Of course,” Li Ping’an replied, “the whereabouts of Myriad Demon Heaven have always been elusive.

In fact, the Myriad Demon Heaven is merely an external force of the Western Sect.

By striking at the Western Sect’s power, we will naturally be hitting the Myriad Demon Heaven as well.”

“Should there be a need to confront Myriad Demon Heaven, do not hesitate to call on us.”

“Alas, we have disgraced our master as mere disciples,” they lamented.

Li Ping’an reassured the four with a few words, then saw them off.
