Behold Dong’an City once more.
Inside Drunken Moon Tower, amid the pleasant scenery of the afternoon, music drifted gracefully from all corners.
Sun Yingying had reverted to her usual disguise, donned in her tube-top gown and wielding a palace fan, she gently waved the fan by the window, gazing out with a distant look in her eyes.
She sighed softly, uttering a verse of sorrowful poetry.
“Truly, the worldly love and luxury are endless, as are the grudges and grievances of the human race.”
A mocking voice came from beside her, “Sister Yingying, are you…
smitten with a romantic suitor?”
Sun Yingying turned to the beautiful speaker, smiling, “Just fancy these lines, if I were to fall for someone, which male cultivator could withstand it?”
Several beauties of Drunken Moon Tower chimed in agreement.
“Indeed, indeed!”
“Sister Yingying, we want to go out and stroll through the streets.”
“Go ahead,” Sun Yingying gestured with her hand, “just make sure to return before dusk.
The Loose Cultivators around here are not to be trusted.”
“Thank you, Sister Yingying!”
The group of beauties bowed, their laughter merging into a clamor as they went out together.
Sun Yingying continued to daydream by the window, watching the clouds in the sky that unwittingly took the shape of someone cloaked in black…
She sniffed slightly, suddenly asking, “Where is this demonic aura coming from?”
At that moment, Granny Yin Lin’s voice reached Sun Yingying’s ears.
“Yingying, a notable guest has arrived, come here for a moment.”
Sun Yingying looked down at her feet, and through the layers of enchantments, it seemed she saw the source of the demonic aura.
Without saying much, she stood up, went to the wall, and pushed open a hidden door, diving straight down to the underground levels.
Soon after, Sun Yingying took a tray from a young girl, carrying two cups of tea, and appeared at the fourth underground level near the chamber door, accompanied by the sound of rushing water, as she pulled open the wooden door and caught sight of the noble guest.
A Snake Demon queen?
Sun Yingying was taken aback for a moment.
Though Huan Valley did sell some information to demons, it was limited to the locations of spirit veins and spirit mines, as well as inconsequential Qi Cultivator intel.
Granny Yin Lin called out, “Yingying, why don’t you come in?”
“I’m coming, granny.”
Sun Yingying smiled sweetly as she entered with the tea, the numerous protective barriers of the chamber activated simultaneously.
This distinguished guest was a tall demoness of the Demon Race.
She sat with her head held high and chest outstretched, nearly a foot taller than Granny Yin Lin, dressed in an ancient-style cheongsam that bore the legacy of antiquity.
Her visage and features incomparable to ordinary demonesses, those willow-shaped eyebrows and melon-seed face not only lacked a hint of seductiveness but rather exuded a certain sanctity.
From beneath her skirt, a serpentine tail with colorful scales revealed her identity.
The queen of the Rainbow Scales Clan.
Sun Yingying bowed, then sat next to Granny Yin Lin, saying, “To think Cailin the Great herself has come, we are truly unprepared.”
Cailin the Great nodded slightly, her inherent pride evident but not overbearing.
“The Daoist friend is too kind, I’ve come here simply to trade for a piece of information.
The granny mentioned that the decision to sell depends on you, and it is fine if we cannot reach an agreement today.
After all, Huan Valley primarily serves the human race, I understand that,” she stated.
Sun Yingying inquired, “May I ask which information you seek?”
Cailin the Great’s phoenix eyes grew sharp:
“The whereabouts of Li Ping’an, the illegitimate child of the Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor.”
Sun Yingying paused, raising her head to regard the Snake Demon queen, and realizing that the other was not joking, found herself at a loss for words.
Has this queen lost her mind?
She believed such a ludicrous rumor!
“That…”
Suddenly!
A tremendous flux in Spiritual Energy erupted within the chamber, as the city’s defensive arrays were fully activated, plumes of smoke rising from above the East Sea!
A hundred and thirty or forty great demons burst from the sea’s surface, shouting “Slaughter Dong’an City,” as they surged madly towards Dong’an City.
Underground, Sun Yingying frowned at Cailin the Great, who returned her gaze with a frown of her own.
“My liege, did you bring this upon us?”
“I bear no resentment against ordinary humans,” Cailin the Great declared coldly, “This has nothing to do with me.”
Another loud shout came from outside the city: “All commanders heed my command!
Annihilate the demon horde!
Protect the common folk!”
Two Heavenly Immortal commanders ascended into the sky, with more than two thousand celestial soldiers rising in unison, swarming toward the East Sea.
Little did this underground Demon King know, the mastermind behind this grand spectacle was none other than the very Qi Cultivator she was seeking, Li Ping’an.
