Chapter 1154: Chapter 405: Heavenly Emperor Enhances Combat Power, Dazhi Comes Enticed by Fragrance_3
Li Dazhi said: “I let him stay at Mount Lingjiu as a guardian. If Ping’an finishes attending his lecture, he can quickly make his way to wherever he needs to go.”
“Then let me see you off, Daoist friend.”
The Great Mage casually summoned the Measure of Heaven and Earth. One strike shook the cosmos; the other opened a path, leading directly to the void near the Primary Realm.
“Please! Many thanks to you, Daoist friend, for battling the Innate Gods and Demons here!”
“Thank you, Great Mage.”
Li Dazhi glanced at the masters meditating around him, cheerfully concluding this leg of his monster-slaying journey.
He stepped through the fissure in the cosmos, turned back toward the Great Mage from within the void, and made a formal Daoist salute. Then, cloaking his presence and concealing his tracks, he watched as the fissure in space quietly disappeared before setting out on the road back to the Primary Realm.
Halfway through, Li Dazhi picked his nose absentmindedly. Gazing at the twinkling speck of light representing the Primary Realm, he debated whether to make a detour to Mount Lingjiu first.
With his own child’s situation uncertain, how could he not feel worried…? Hmm?
Li Dazhi suddenly furrowed his brows, instinctively squatting low, only to recall he was stealthily moving within the void.
Adjusting his direction slightly, he began tailing faint traces left behind in the void, his nostrils flaring slightly.
‘Xihe’s scent?’
‘It can’t be mistaken—it’s a trace of the Inner Heavenly Dao!’
Li Dazhi hesitated for only a moment before several options surfaced in his mind. Option A: pursue immediately. Option B: stay wary of traps and call for reinforcements first. Option C: ignore and take no risks.
Without delay, Li Dazhi chose all three.
First, call for help. Then, pursue cautiously while maintaining distance. A gentleman does not tread recklessly into danger.
He retrieved several Messaging Jade Talismans, hastily scratched a few words onto them, then used a shape-shifting technique to transform into an old Daoist priest, quietly following the dissipating traces.
Inside Li Ping’an’s Spirit Platform, the Heavenly Dao Faceless One glanced outward at Li Ping’an, who was currently being pressed to the ground and beaten mercilessly. After some consideration, it withdrew part of its mind to guard Li Dazhi’s surroundings.
When Li Dazhi detected traces of the Inner Heavenly Dao, the Heavenly Dao instinctively responded.
Yet, because their opponent was the Inner Heavenly Dao, even the Faceless One couldn’t determine whether this was a trap or a display of Li Dazhi’s Great Fortune.
The resting point chosen by the Great Mage for Li Dazhi was something the Inner Heavenly Dao couldn’t have predicted. The likelihood of a trap ahead appeared slim.
Meanwhile…
In a place where the Coffin Spirit gave lessons, an elderly, frail-looking figure had shed its long robes to reveal only a pair of trousers. On its back, eight incredibly muscular arms emerged, pinning Li Ping’an to a high platform. The eight fists burst forth in an endless barrage of shadowy blows, fully enveloping Li Ping’an’s body.
Li Ping’an struggled even to breathe, letting out one guttural roar after another.
Not far away, Guilingling stood holding healing ointments and elixir pills, her face brimming with distress as she watched her senior apprentice nephew being relentlessly pummeled by the Transcender. She wanted to speak but couldn’t find the words to intervene.
This kind of battering had caused her senior apprentice nephew’s Power of the Dao Body to advance by leaps and bounds.
Although the process was grueling, it was clear the Transcender wasn’t deliberately tormenting him.
Suddenly, Li Ping’an let out a thunderous roar. It was as if a mystical blockage in his Dao Body had abruptly cleared. A surge of intense blood energy exploded around him, flinging the old figure conjured by the Coffin Spirit into midair.
The Coffin Spirit froze briefly, stunned.
The Dao Barrier had opened again?
He frowned deeply, lowering his gaze upon Li Ping’an.
The ‘five-year curriculum’ he had initially designed for Li Ping’an? Not even half a year had passed, and it was already completed.
If he now moved on to the second-level and third-level courses, would this guy’s strength increase so rapidly that, after just three or four more lectures, he’d have nothing left to teach?
But Li Ping’an gave him no time to ponder further.
From the pit in the center of the collapsed high platform, Li Ping’an slowly climbed up. The blood covering his body dried up quickly, the surrounding spiritual energy entirely absorbed into his Dao Body.
He inhaled sharply, his frame swelling with power as the five-element Spiritual Energy of this small world converged on him like rivers joining an ocean, flowing into him at astonishing speed.
With a mighty shout, Li Ping’an shot upward into the sky, detonating a series of sonic booms along the way.
The Coffin Spirit, still in its old Daoist form, adjusted its combat strength, only to be sent flying by Li Ping’an once again.
With fists flashing and trembling, fists and feet clashed; the heavens and earth quaked, the cosmos roared in protest.
Guilingling’s small lips parted slightly as she exclaimed in awe:
“Goodness gracious, senior apprentice nephew has broken through again.”
Meanwhile, within Li Ping’an’s Spirit Platform, the Heavenly Dao Faceless One furrowed its brows tightly, unsure whether to inform Li Ping’an about Li Dazhi’s impending actions.
This was far too risky.
