Chapter 1110: Chapter 388: How Lucky Indeed
‘Hiss, it hurts…’
Li Ping’an’s Primordial Spirit was the first to awaken. Groggily opening his eyes, he instinctively looked up at the Golden Cloud above the Spirit Platform.
The Golden Cloud remained intact, and the Heavenly Dao showed no anomalies.
What on earth happened?
His Dao Body opened its eyes, and a rather clichéd scenario suddenly unfolded.
An unfamiliar ceiling;
An unfamiliar wide-rimmed soft couch;
An unfamiliar… cough, actually familiar big sister resting on his arm.
Through the pale-white canopy, he could see the dovetail joints of the ceiling crafted into a delicate structure, as well as the intricate barriers enveloping the hall inside and out.
A thin blanket covered the bare bodies of the two, and Li Ping’an’s Immortal Consciousness surveyed the “battlefield.”
He could clearly see the intertwined figures beneath the blanket;
Her slender and towering figure, even with the barrier of the blanket, still painted a breathtaking mountain-and-water scenery full of undulating peaks.
Li Ping’an’s fingers instinctively curled. The sleeping beauty let out a soft and coquettish murmur, and amidst her half-awake state, clung to him even tighter, much like a koala wrapping herself around him.
She was actually pretending to be asleep, secretly using her Immortal Consciousness to observe Li Ping’an’s expression.
Ah, this…
This matter didn’t even require his active participation, did it?
Without him exerting much initiative, she’d managed to handle the entire ritual herself?
Luckily, Li Ping’an had made some preparations beforehand, using a strand of Immortal Consciousness to probe into the hairband tied around his hair.
Though it appeared to be an ordinary hairband, it was actually a disguised Memory Artifact embedded with dozens of tiny Memory Spheres—a “useless masterpiece” he’d created during idle moments.
Initially, it was meant for recording the negotiations between the Heavenly Court and the Human Race;
Who would’ve thought it would end up documenting the “negotiations” between the Heavenly Emperor and the Human Race’s God General.
Li Ping’an quickly located footage of the last three to four hours from the memory hairband and couldn’t help but feel his old face flush with heat.
Fortunately, his Dao Body was sturdy, having already ascended to the Golden Immortal stage; otherwise, he might have…
Not had enough stamina…
Though unconscious… cough, overall, his performance—though less stellar than when awake—was still quite passable.
At first, Lady Ba had been completely at a loss.
She had done her homework thoroughly, having read the Human Race’s “Procreation Manual” dozens of times;
Yet when it came time for the actual combat, she became bashful again—hesitating for half a day just to remove his outer robe, her face flushed, avoiding his gaze.
Because he was unconscious, the entire process had been conservative, straightforward, and monotonous.
Li Ping’an noticed the two crimson plum blossoms on the bedsheets, his feelings mixed as he quietly closed his eyes, beginning to ponder how to handle this relationship.
He had speculated about such a development before coming, so accepting it now wasn’t too difficult.
A soft, husky greeting came from beside him: “Are you angry? Was I too harsh?”
Li Ping’an:…
What kind of shameless words are these?!
“Hmm?”
Li Ping’an chuckled, exerting a bit of force with his arm to encircle Lady Ba’s swan-like neck and said with his eyes closed:
“I had mostly guessed it before coming here, but I didn’t expect you to ambush me so directly without even a warning.”
Lady Ba muttered softly: “This is an ancient ceremony… from now on, you’re mine.”
Li Ping’an retorted: “You’re a God General; I’m the Heavenly Emperor—naturally, I outrank you.”
Lady Ba propped herself up with her arms, leaning over to stare at Li Ping’an with her phoenix-like eyes and scoffed: “No way! I took you, not the other way around!”
“What? You ambushed the Heavenly Emperor and think you’re justified?”
Li Ping’an opened a sliver of his eye, only to be captivated by the enchanting view before him.
Li Ping’an sighed inwardly, temporarily pushing aside countless thoughts to return to the purest desires of his Dao Heart. Fury rose within him, daring courage surged, and suddenly he flipped the blanket and turned her over.
“Ah!”
Lady Ba was caught off guard, and fearing she’d hurt this young Emperor, she dared not resist: “They’re all waiting…”
“Now you feel shy? Let them wait.”
“Don’t… I’m not very practiced in this path yet. Do you want me to do something… hmm?”
“This isn’t the time for conversation.”
“Oh, then I’ll seal my cultivation…”
The warm canopy was reinforced with additional layers of barriers, blocking external surveillance and sound.
As the poem says:
Amidst the warm canopy, a spring night is spent, Emperor and General cast aside their robes of war.
When the two finally appeared before the Human Race’s ministers again, sixteen or seventeen hours had passed.
Lady Ba wore a warm-colored long dress, her face glowing, her bearing radiant, brimming with vitality. Her Calamity Dao had never been so steady and harmonious, even her tone now carried a gentler note, less of its former authority.
As for the Heavenly Emperor…
The Heavenly Emperor walked with a hand on his waist, his Dao Realm having advanced to Eighth-grade Golden Immortal, his eyes slightly shadowed, though his spirit also radiated.
“Cough, how did the talks go?”
Li Ping’an asked leisurely.
Li Dazhi smiled without saying a word, and the Human Race’s ministers each shook their heads and sighed softly.
With the leaders of both sides like this, what more could they do?
The negotiation results were as follows:
The Human Race pledged not to target the Hundred Clans’ innocent beings without karmic debt, and the Heavenly Court promised to promptly initiate ideological reforms for the Hundred Clans;
The Human Race would station one million Immortal soldiers north of Spirit Mountain, with patrol and demon-cleansing authority, under the supervision of the Heavenly Court’s Wrath Guards;
The Heavenly Court and Eastern Alliance jointly established the “Western Continent Northern Inspection Bureau,” with Li Dazhi as Chief Inspector, wielding full control over military and political affairs north of Spirit Mountain. Eastern Alliance Immortal officials of the second grade and below were subject to Li Dazhi’s command.
Thus, governance of the Western Continent began to take root.
Beyond Western Continent affairs, Li Dazhi discussed several other concerns with the Human ministers.
For instance, the Human Race planned to launch a propaganda campaign in the name of the Eastern Alliance, calling on Loose Cultivators and sect Qi Cultivators to develop the Misty Realm under the banner of “Support Misty Realm, Build the Heavenly Court.”
