Chapter 1108: Chapter 387: The Tenderness of That Strike_2
“Once the inner Heavenly Dao is annihilated and the Heavenly Court occupies the myriad small worlds beyond, the greatest conflict of this realm will transform into the Dao Immortal Tribulation.”
Li Dazhi responded with a hum, seemingly hesitant to speak.
He was pondering whether to tell Li Ping’an that his opportunistic teacher had once given him two treasures—one being the Human Book, the other the Heavenly Book.
These two items had been resting heavily with him, leaving him with an immense sense of… unease.
Li Ping’an suddenly smiled and said, “Enough of these thoughts; we’re almost at the Celestial Void.”
Li Dazhi immediately stood up and said, “Well, I’ll head to Dong’an City first to arrange for the Casting Cloud Sect to engage in disaster relief.”
“Dad, don’t leave,” Li Ping’an said. “This matter can be sorted with a Jade Talisman. The Roc Bird has already sent a thousand Heavenly Fury Guards back to the Misty Realm. Later, he will return with your two aunts. For now, stay in the main realm; something significant is coming.”
“Oh,” Li Dazhi laughed mockingly, “You’re starting to boss your dad around now?”
Li Ping’an raised an eyebrow and said, “Comrade Dazhi, let’s not resist; obey the organization’s arrangements and comply with its directives.”
“Fine, what do you need me to do?” Li Dazhi plopped back into his seat.
“The Western Continent.”
Li Ping’an said gravely:
“The Western Continent needs to be divided strategically into north and south. It’s enough for the Human Race to control the region south of Ling Mountain; the area north of Ling Mountain should fall directly under Heavenly Court jurisdiction.
“This trip to meet Lady Ba is to formally discuss these arrangements.
“The Western Continent is still home to numerous Hundred Clans’ creatures, and the hatred between both parties runs too deep. While no issues have cropped up immediately following the war, if we do not take preventative measures, a new form of calamity involving living beings will arise later.”
Li Dazhi sucked in a sharp breath. “Now that you mention it, I’ve heard people joking about this before.”
“Joking about what?”
“Capturing slaves from the Hundred Clans… But the Human Race has already set rules before, stating they’ll only kill ancient demon criminals and won’t harm innocent Hundred Clans.”
Li Dazhi pondered briefly:
“This matter truly needs careful negotiation with Lady Ba, but as for what I could contribute… what can I even do?
“There’s labor available on the Western Continent that I could use, but stopping the Human Race from infringing on the kind-hearted Hundred Clans? I don’t have that kind of authority; I’m just a Golden Immortal.”
Li Ping’an laughed and said, “Here’s the idea: The Heavenly Court and the Human Race together can summon the Hundred Clans from the Western Continent who are free of karma to form a Western Continent Development Bureau. Dad, you’ll be the director!”
“Now that’s something I like!”
Li Dazhi perked up with excitement, sitting with newfound vigor and authority.
“Let’s not even talk about corruption or exploitation—I’d wholeheartedly serve all living beings and build a new, beautiful homeland.”
Li Ping’an chuckled, his gaze carrying a touch of serenity.
This battle had seen him fighting in small worlds, rushing to aid the Western Continent, deceiving Lu Ya, and encountering the havoc of the inner Heavenly Dao… After such relentless turmoil, even an iron man couldn’t endure.
Once the follow-up matters of the Western Continent were settled, he’d finally be able to retreat to the Misty Realm for secluded cultivation and recovery.
Of course, the Jade Pool must also be visited—she was currently his closest ally. Ever since their pact, she had never hindered him in any way and had always been diligent in every matter.
Having promised to go, it was now time to fulfill the promise.
Li Ping’an gathered his spirits and invited several Female Immortals to accompany him in action.
Unexpectedly, Qing Su, his master, said, “Now that the magical combat has subsided, it’s time to return to the Misty Realm. Let’s stop by Dong’an City and stock up on snacks.”
“Alright,” Li Ping’an didn’t think much of it. “Master, if you wish to stay in Dong’an City for a while, feel free; your disciple will return to the Misty Realm merely to enter secluded cultivation.”
Qing Su said, “That place is more comfortable.”
“Then I’ll handle the follow-up matters first.”
“Good,” Qing Su replied softly, winking at Li Ping’an as she did so.
Li Ping’an was puzzled, touching his face, but couldn’t find anything abnormal.
Was Master trying to hint at something?
At that moment, the group split into two parties: the Li father and son boarded the Cloud Boat, heading to the Eastern Alliance headquarters; Guilingling, Qing Su, and Luo Xuejing made their way to Dong’an City, agreeing to rendezvous there later.
Luo Xuejing let out a sigh of relief.
She glanced at the Jade Talisman hidden in her sleeve, containing detailed plans and preparations, and exhaled lightly.
Though her efforts felt wasted, her goals were nonetheless achieved.
“Who would’ve guessed that Immortal Qing Su is so magnanimous? I had thought she wouldn’t allow His Majesty and His Highness to grow close.”
Qing Su said, “After a battle, one must feast heartily.”
Western Kunlun Secret Realm.
The Queen Mother of the Jade Pool placed the Kunlun Mirror on one side, letting out a faint hum through her nose.
She naturally wouldn’t peek at the romantic affairs of Li Ping’an with other women.
Nonetheless… she’d certainly pay attention to the arrangements for the Western Continent—a matter of utmost importance.
The Queen Mother picked up the Kunlun Mirror.
…
Predictably, Li Ping’an had come to discuss this matter. Over thirty prominent generals and ministers of the Human Race had already gathered at the Eastern Alliance headquarters.
—In reality, they had convened because of Lady Ba’s new rapport with the Human Race; these officials needed to report back to duty.
This coincidence worked out well: as long as today’s negotiations went smoothly, there would be no lingering concerns.
The two sides exchanged pleasantries as usual.
Li Ping’an specifically praised the indomitable fighting spirit of the Human Race, their bravery in defying the inner Heavenly Dao in relentless and extreme conditions, and their staunch defense against the repeated assaults of the inner Heavenly Dao and demon army.
The Human Race’s senior ministers, in turn, extolled the new Heavenly Emperor for his exceptional wisdom and courage, his triumph over the inner Heavenly Dao, and his rescue of the realm from collapse, and so forth.
After sharing compliments, they sat down for tea, discussing the casualties and subsequent relief efforts of the Human Race before Li Ping’an steered the conversation toward the Western Continent’s follow-up arrangements.
Lady Ba, adorned in a long skirt and cloth boots, her cheeks tender as dew-covered petals, was visibly distracted today;
She occasionally nodded or shook her head, signaling she was paying attention.
Li Ping’an proposed setting Ling Mountain as the dividing line, where the Human Race and the Hundred Clans would jointly share the Western Continent, providing a sanctuary for the creatures of the Hundred Clans who hadn’t participated in the great war to recuperate.
