Chapter 1105: Chapter 386: Shaking Spirit Mountain!

“Kill!”

A hundred thousand immortal soldiers roared in unison.

The force of their vitality shook the land for ten thousand miles!

Within Ling Mountain, chaos erupted as the grand formation was splintered apart. Hundreds of disciples from the great sects and tens of thousands of spiritual practitioners were all struck with terror.

Li Ping’an gripped the sword sheath and handed the Treasure Sword to Cailin, the commanding officer of the Heavenly Fury Guards who followed closely behind him.

He now had elite trusted aides to hold and accompany him with the sword.

He descended on clouds towards the base below.

In the distance, two clouds drifted forward. One carried Yun Zhongzi, Immortal Yuding, and Immortal Taiyi. The other carried Zhao Gongming, Qiongxiao Celestial Maiden, and several of the Ten Heavenly Lords, hovering directly above Ling Mountain.

That Yun Zhongzi came instead of Guang Chengzi from the Chan Teaching was already indicative of some sort of stance.

As for Zhao Gongming and his group, they clearly weren’t here just to spectate.

The Heavenly Emperor only needed to utter a single command, and they could ensure Ling Mountain showcased its true potential today.

The inner sect disciple of the Jie Sect, Guilingling, naturally followed behind Li Ping’an at this moment, wearing a short skirt and holding her hands behind her back, her round, youthful face shining with exuberance.

Li Ping’an carefully gauged the presence; there were still quite a few formidable figures on Ling Mountain.

By his prior estimations, there were seven or eight of Jie Yin’s disciples, two or three of Zhunti’s disciples, and a host of second- and third-generation members and disciples from the Western Sect.

Among them, there were several Daluo Golden Immortals, several Great One Golden Immortals, and only a dozen Golden Immortals. It was apparent that quite a few Golden Immortal Realm disciples had temporarily fled Ling Mountain.

Li Ping’an calculated inwardly:

‘If there were an opportunity to wipe them all out, it would at least avenge thirty percent of the debt owed to Fenghou and the fallen warriors of the Human Race.’

‘Unfortunately, killing all of these Western Sect disciples might instead give Jie Yin and Zhunti a pretext to lose control. In all things, holding the moral high ground is essential for Granduncle Taiqing’s protection of the Heavenly Court.’

‘Let’s see who steps into the line of fire first, then send the Faceless One to uncover their crimes.’

The Yuan Tu Sword behind him trembled lightly.

It seemed to be reminding him that directly using it to kill would avoid karmic entanglement.

A glow of immortal light blossomed in his palm.

Black shadows darted out from behind him, streaking forward and backward across the expanse of Ling Mountain, surrounding the temples and hall clusters in mere moments.

Li Ping’an’s lips curled into a faint smile.

Yet this smile, landing in the eyes of the Western Sect disciples… was utterly chilling and fearsome.

The disciples of the Western Sect rose on their clouds, leaving the grand formation and resolutely guarding the mountain gate, looking as though they would face death if necessary.

Before Li Ping’an could act, two high-ranking disciples of Jie Yin ascended into the sky. One glared with righteous fury, while the other looked mournful.

The former shouted loudly: “What is the meaning of this, prospective Heavenly Emperor? The two Masters are not present, yet you dare to bully us so insolently!”

The latter let out a long sigh: “Endless conflicts among all beings have soaked the land in blood, and witnessing such suffering has pained our Daoist hearts. The Human Race encircling us, and the Heavenly Emperor oppressing us—do you wish to drive Ling Mountain from its ancestral place in the Desolate Era?”

Guilingling, standing behind Li Ping’an, couldn’t help but roll her eyes.

These people truly were shameless beyond belief.

Li Ping’an wasted no time on unnecessary words, proclaiming loudly:

“The Heavenly Dao is vast, the Way of Humanity unfathomable. Lately, the inner Heavenly Dao has caused chaos, seeking to subvert the order of living beings and slaughter them to ensure its survival.”

“Now, with Human Race warriors fighting valiantly and esteemed members of the Three Teachings supporting the cause, the turmoil of the inner Heavenly Dao has temporarily been stemmed…”

How should he choose his reference here?

Should he say “I”? “This seat”? Or perhaps “We”? Definitely not “We”—that term is closely tied to the title of Son of Heaven, which doesn’t suit his elevated status as the Heavenly Emperor, essentially the father figure to all mortal monarchs.

“When battling the inner Heavenly Dao, I noticed that certain Western Sect traitors—from a handful to dozens—assisted the inner Heavenly Dao in wreaking havoc during the Desolate Era.”

“At this very moment, some of those renegades are here among us.”

“Additionally, since the divine entities of the inner Heavenly Dao retreated, they’ve been hiding within the gaps of living beings’ Daoist hearts. Western Sect disciples often fail to cultivate their Daoist hearts or enhance their virtues, creating a risk that these divine entities are lurking here.”

“I request the full cooperation of the Western Sect in the investigation by the Heavenly Court.”

These words were laden with subtleties.

Li Ping’an refrained from delivering a moral critique of the Western Sect from the Human Race’s perspective, denying them the chance to twist the narrative. Instead, he directly brought the dispute between the inner and outer Heavenly Dao to their doorstep.

With the Six Great Masters absent, he held the sole authority to interpret the Heavenly Dao, leaving the Western Sect disciples utterly unable to refute him.

Li Ping’an descended directly from his cloud.

“Li Ping’an!”

An elder hollered angrily: “The Human Race has already won this battle; you’ve suffered no losses, so why do you press on so relentlessly?”

“I’ve suffered no losses?”

Li Ping’an replied coolly:

“It is said Western Sect disciples excel at debating doctrines—how uninspired for you to lose composure like this.”

“I survived the ordeal of the inner Heavenly Dao through my own strength. Yet you released the inner Heavenly Dao, aiding its atrocities—that is your guilt.”

“And to use my abilities to absolve your crimes? That is repulsive beyond words.”

Two elders immediately prepared to retaliate.

Dozens of the strongest Heavenly Fury Guards glared fiercely at the two Daluo Golden Immortals!

The Yuan Tu Sword seemed about to unsheath itself!

High above, Yun Zhongzi, Immortal Yuding, and Immortal Taiyi released immense pressure, while Zhao Gongming stroked his beard and gazed below with eyes flashing two streaks of lightning.

The two elders turned their heads, looking around… Why wasn’t anyone stepping forward to intervene?

With grunts of indignation, they each stepped back two paces with a flick of their sleeves.

Li Ping’an frowned subtly.

Was this vast Western Sect truly so bereft of leaders or figures capable of stepping up?

In that case, don’t blame him for his lack of mercy.

Riding his white cloud, he descended directly in front of the Western Sect’s main temple.

A large crowd of Western Sect disciples ran alongside but dared not move forward, merely watching as Li Ping’an landed before the temple.

Li Ping’an gently smoothed his Daoist robe before sitting down.

Niu Benben and King Yin Kui brought over a stone chair, expertly supporting the Heavenly Emperor’s landing with flawless coordination.
