1094: Chapter 382: This Is How Merit Is Used [Monthly Ticket Request] 1094: Chapter 382: This Is How Merit Is Used [Monthly Ticket Request] The so-called secret realm of the Sea of Blood turned out to be a clear spring.

The spring was only the size of a washbasin, quietly flowing in a trench at the bottom of the Sea of Blood, sustaining an area about a hundred zhang wide with wisps of clear energy.

With the lingering power of the immortals of the Three Teachings, Li Ping’an easily located the place and waited here with Yaochi, his master Qing Su, along with dozens of Yaochi Fairies and Heavenly Fury Guards, preparing for the arrival of Minghe to stir up trouble.

But unexpectedly…

Minghe chickened out.

Minghe directly hid himself and avoided appearing, while the Asura clan scattered and went into hiding in secret places across the Sea of Blood, leaving them to create as much havoc as they liked.

This left Li Ping’an at a loss for words.

There was no helping it—no one wanted to be beaten down when they were weaker.

For now, as long as they could resolve the issue and ensure Fenghou’s smooth reincarnation, this battle would be considered a success.

Li Ping’an waited for a while and chatted with Qing Su and Yaochi, recounting some of the encounters he had within the Heavenly Dao, carefully glossing over certain episodes.

Such as “Lady Ba wrapping her jade-like arm around the Heavenly Emperor’s neck” and “Dazhi’s temporary Emperor Jun experience card.”

Yaochi’s gaze grew somewhat complex, and she said softly, “Had His Majesty called me then, I would have accompanied him in the battle within Heaven and ensured he was not put in a difficult spot by Lady Ba.”

Curious, Qing Su asked, “Did Lady Ba trouble my disciple?”

Li Ping’an: “That’s actually…”

“She most certainly did,” Yaochi said with a laugh, “She put him in quite the dilemma.”

Qing Su didn’t fully understand.

She had grown familiar with Zi Yao, frequently drinking and chatting with her, but when Zi Yao used Yaochi’s identity, Qing Su couldn’t help but feel a bit uneasy.

Clearly, they were the same being, as one could tell from their gaze.

Yet when it came to their figures, Zi Yao was slender and graceful, while Yaochi was tall and voluptuous.

In terms of temperament, Zi Yao exuded elegance and intelligence, while Yaochi carried an air of dignity and maturity.

Even their expressions and speech differed greatly; Zi Yao gave people an impression as refreshing as a spring breeze, but Yaochi was surrounded by a subtle sense of authority.

‘Still, both are undeniably Zi Yao—perhaps they’re just different facets of her personality,’ Qing Su thought, and as she did, her resistance toward Yaochi diminished significantly.

She listened as Li Ping’an and Yaochi discussed plans for the aftermath.

An hour later.

Above the Sea of Blood, Zhao Gongming, outer disciple of the Jie Sect, and Chi Jingzi of the Twelve Golden Immortals of Chan Teaching joined forces to part the Sea of Blood, revealing the secret realm below.

The blood waves dispersed like walls, scattering in all directions.

Dozens of streaks of light swiftly descended as Li Dazhi arrived with several elders of the Human Race to guard Houtu, the Ancestral Witch.

Houtu laid eyes on the clear spring, her expression shifting slightly.

She pondered quietly, gazing at the water for a considerable time.

Li Dazhi called out, “Daoist friend, Houtu?”

“Hmm,” Houtu came to her senses and replied softly, “I now understand how to use this secret realm.

Who would’ve thought that the Sea of Blood, formed from the impurities of creation, could nurture such a place brimming with vitality and hope.”

Li Ping’an cupped his hands and said with a smile, “Perhaps this is fortune arising from misfortune—death giving rise to life.”

“Death giving rise to life…”

Houtu murmured softly, then a warm smile appeared in her eyes.

She said gently, “Indeed, if a place existed where souls could reincarnate and live another life, the world would undoubtedly grow more prosperous, and people wouldn’t have to fight so desperately for immortality.”

With that, Houtu began to hum an ancient ritual song, her figure drifting like a tuft of cotton to hover above the spring.

She unleashed her progressively mastered second path of the Great Dao, manifesting the nine-tier Treasure Wheel behind her.

Below, illusions flickered in the spring water—within it appeared what seemed to be a portal.

Houtu’s gentle voice resonated, audible to all experts present at the scene.

She said, “This secret realm is now under the protection of the Heavenly Dao, so there’s no need to fear it being destroyed by malice.”

After a moment, Houtu continued:

“This space allows souls to reincarnate—it grants remnants of souls a chance at life.

“The source of its spiritual power is the Sea of Blood.

“By releasing remnants of souls here, they transform into life-bearing spirits.

If newlywed couples seek to conceive offspring, the union of Yin and Yang forms the initial fetus.

Before the heart pulses within, one can merge the life-bearing spirits, enabling the remnants of souls to complete their reincarnation.”

“However, this is not the perfect method.

For true perfection, the life-bearing spirits would need to enter the mother’s body the moment the living beings come together.”

With that, Houtu gracefully raised her left hand, forming a delicate orchid finger gesture as she softly waved toward the spring.

Streams of light emerged from the Treasure Wheel behind her, descending toward the spring.

Dozens of Yaochi Fairies holding various divine artifacts opened their treasures, releasing remnants of souls that descended toward Houtu and, together with her sprinkling beams of light, merged into the spring.

In an instant, faint starlight soared out from the spring.

These sparks of light danced and played above the spring, passing beside Houtu, twirling around Li Ping’an and Yaochi, before transforming into a river that sank into the portal within the spring.

It spread across the Three Realms, seeking women longing for children.

Houtu reminded, “This contains the remnants of hundreds of thousands of fallen warriors.

It must be conveyed to all regions, urging the Human Race to engage in childbirth more actively.”

The nearby elders of the Human Race hastily nodded.

One elder quickly exclaimed, “I’ll send orders to the East Continent immediately: the people should strive to have more children, and quickly!”

Li Ping’an found himself momentarily at a loss for words, opting instead to clasp his hands behind him and gaze skyward.

A Yaochi Fairy approached with a jade box in hand.

Li Ping’an accepted the jade box and released the figure of a young man from it.

The young man no longer wore his flower crown.

But he looked unusually relaxed, smiling as he took in his surroundings, before bowing deeply to Li Ping’an.

“Your Majesty, please allow me to rebuild myself in this life.

Be it in a century or a millennium, I shall serve the Heavenly Court again.”

Li Ping’an chuckled and said, “Minister Feng—oh no, Eastern King, no need to worry.

The Heavenly Court will mainly be clearing away the Demon Clan remnants in the small celestial realms for the next hundred years.

There should be no major disputes.”
