Chapter 1262: Chapter 1262: This Man is So Reserved and Flirtatious
Hurriedly taking the elevator down, Shen Chi instantly caught sight of Xu Chaomu waiting off to the side.
Quickening his pace, he strode over, took the lunchbox from her hands, and wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug, "Why did you come here?"
"Why can’t I come? Is it because you and your ’little secretary’ are up to something indecent?" Chaomu playfully scolded.
"Secretary Xiao... What indecent things could I possibly do with him? Your husband’s sexual orientation is completely normal," he retorted.
"Quibbling! I was clearly referring to your ’little secretary’!"
Shen Chi laughed and, embracing her, stepped onto the elevator.
"Did you make this yourself?" Shen Chi raised the lunchbox in his hand, arching his brows as he questioned.
"Yeah, you don’t like it?"
"No, no, the food you make is the most delicious," Shen Chi replied with a smile.
In the CEO’s private elevator, nobody else would appear; it was a space just for them.
Xu Chaomu also smiled; her hands instinctively encircled Shen Chi’s waist.
Shen Chi truly hadn’t expected Xu Chaomu to come; at this moment, he was incredibly surprised, sweetness flowing through his heart, and he couldn’t help but hold her even tighter.
"It’s raining outside, aren’t you cold? Your face is all red from the cold," Shen Chi said, his concern evident.
"Not cold, just a bit chilly standing in the underground parking lot for a while, luckily you came down shortly after," Chaomu said. "Are you still busy with overtime work?"
"Yeah, there’s been a lot going on lately."
"Oh, just take care of yourself. Don’t wear yourself out at such a young age, or I’ll have no choice but to not want you anymore," Chaomu said.
"Your husband is very healthy. Want to give it a try, in the elevator?"
"What are you thinking? No, let go of me!" Chaomu pushed him away.
Shen Chi wrapped his arms around her, laughing.
Just then, the elevator quickly arrived, and the doors opened; Shen Chi led Chaomu straight to the executive office.
The rain kept pouring outside, but heating was available everywhere within the corporation, making it very warm, especially in the executive office, which was as warm as spring and lush with greenery.
Seeing the pile of documents on his desk, Chaomu couldn’t help but feel a pang of distress.
"You’re so busy with work. Do you want me to help you out with anything?" Chaomu asked.
"Sure, you can feed me," Shen Chi suggested, his brows raised.
"I’m not feeding you; you have hands and feet," Chaomu pouted. "I can help you clean or fetch tea and water."
"My office is cleaner than your room!" Shen Chi said with disdain. "Just sit there quietly, you don’t need to do anything."
"But seeing you so busy makes me uncomfortable," Chaomu insisted, unwilling to sit idle. "Is there any work I can help you with?"
"Are you sure you can help me? Then try reviewing this document for me. If you understand ten words, you can help; if not, just sit there quietly," Shen Chi casually tossed her a file.
All the documents here were highly confidential, but in front of Chaomu, there were no secrets, he could even use them to amuse her.
Chaomu didn’t believe she couldn’t handle it and took the document.
Upon glancing at it, however, she was stunned.
"This is bullying, you know I don’t understand German and you give me a document in German," Chaomu muttered.
"Then sit quietly and eat. If you don’t eat now, the food will get cold."
Only then did Chaomu put down the document and serve two bowls of rice.
"If I hadn’t brought you food, where would you have eaten?" Chaomu asked.
"There’s a restaurant upstairs, have you forgotten?"
"Oh... right, I forgot," Chaomu said, feeling somewhat disappointed. "Then my coming here was unnecessary, it feels like a redundant move, and I even disturbed your work."
"How can the food from the restaurant compare with yours? No matter how bad your cooking may be, it’s still a delicacy to me. Right?" Shen Chi took the opportunity to wrap his arms around her waist and pulled her onto his lap.
"You really know how to sweet-talk, who taught you?" Chaomu chided, "Put me down already, how can I eat like this?"
"Compared to eating, I’d rather eat you up," Shen Chi said ambiguously into her ear.
"This is the office, be mindful, you’re the president, after all." Chaomu moved her body, "Hurry up and eat, or it will get cold and waste all my efforts."
"Okay," Shen Chi agreed, the corners of his mouth slightly upturned.
As a result, the meal became quite embarrassing for Chaomu.
She had never sat on Shen Chi’s lap to eat before; she hadn’t realized how secretly sly this man could be.
A man who looks serious on the outside can be unimaginably cheeky.
After the meal, Chaomu tidied up briefly and then sat on the sofa waiting for him to finish work.
Shen Chi working was probably the most pleasing sight; Chaomu stared at him without moving, not feeling bored at all.
Especially when he frowned upon encountering a problem, she secretly took out her phone and snapped a few photos—so handsome.
After taking the photos clandestinely, she stared at them for a long time.
No matter their relationship, good or bad, in her heart, Shen Chi was indeed the most handsome, incomparable to anyone.
As she looked on, she found herself grinning foolishly to one side.
She thought Shen Chi was focused on his work, but he had been paying attention to her for quite a while. Even as he approached her, she was still grinning foolishly.
"Taking candid shots of me?" Shen Chi snatched her phone from her hand.
"Give it back, give it back. Who’s taking candid shots of you? It was an accident," Chaomu jumped up trying to snatch back the phone.
Shen Chi swiped through the gallery, "You took more than one photo."
"..." Chaomu was speechless.
"The photos aren’t good; you’ve made your husband look ugly," Shen Chi frowned.
"When did I take bad photos?" Chaomu leaned in.
Just as she got close, Shen Chi pressed the camera button.
With a smile playing on his lips, Shen Chi thought it was good.
Chaomu was stunned; this was their first time taking selfies together.
"Not good-looking, delete it, delete it," Chaomu pointed at the photo, "I wasn’t ready."
"I won’t delete it; it’s quite good," Shen Chi casually pressed a few buttons, transferring the photo to his phone, "Having it as a screensaver should ward off evil spirits."
"Get lost, get lost! Don’t you dare use it as a screensaver! It’s too ugly, let’s take a new one," Chaomu said excitedly.
"Alright, let’s take a new one," Shen Chi pulled her close.
With a few clicks, they took several more selfies.
Shen Chi not only transferred them all to his phone but also assertively set one as her screensaver.
Chaomu looked at him and laughed, feeling a warmth in her heart.
"Remember, you’re a married woman now; you’re not allowed to talk too much with other men," Shen Chi returned the phone to her, "More importantly, always remember that you have a husband, and consult with him on everything; there’s no hurdle we can’t get over."
"Will you consult with me if you have issues?" Chaomu countered.
"You wouldn’t understand work-related things if I consulted you."
"You better remember to drink less, smoke less, and socialize less. You’re not as young as you were; if your health fails, I won’t want you anymore," Chaomu repeated.
"Well then, let your husband first check if his body has really failed."
With that, Shen Chi pressed Chaomu down onto the sofa.
Just as Chaomu was about to speak up in protest, his kiss sealed all the words she wanted to say.
And then, there was no ’and then’, as she was devoured once again.
