If You Could Hear My Heart -
Chapter 1244: That Was My First Kiss
Chapter 1244: Chapter 1244: That Was My First Kiss
"I didn’t mess with anything," Shen Chi said, feeling aggrieved. "If you want to do a paternity test, wait for Wen Zhiyuan to come back, and I’ll take you."
"Okay, I only trust Dr. Wen anyway," Xu Chaomu nodded.
That paternity test, no wonder she and Wen Zhiyuan watched it closely all night yet still made a mistake, it turned out it was not a problem with the report, but with the blood!
"By the way, where is Dr. Wen? Where did he go?" Xu Chaomu asked.
"He’s having a blast, went on a vacation to New Zealand," Shen Chi said.
"Didn’t he go find big sister?"
"No."
"Oh..." Xu Chaomu was somewhat disappointed.
Although in her heart, she couldn’t find a single fault with Qin Chen, she still liked Wen Zhiyuan a little more.
Wen Zhiyuan had a good personality, gentle and refined. It would have been great if he could be with Shen Di.
"I’ll take you to see Dabai tomorrow," Shen Chi wrapped his arms around her, whispering.
"Dabai? Now that you mention it, I remember, I haven’t seen Dabai since I came back," Xu Chaomu moved closer in his embrace.
"If it hears you say that, wouldn’t it be heartbroken you actually forgot about it? I need to go tell on you."
"Shen Chi, are you a tattletale? Telling on me, always telling on me!"
"Xu Chaomu, what are you made of?! Able to bite, pinch, what else can you do, huh?!"
Saying this, Shen Chi tickled her under her arm.
Xu Chaomu laughed ticklishly, "Hey, stop tickling me; it’s so itchy."
Shen Chi refused to let her go, one arm holding her tight, the other chasing her with tickles.
Xu Chaomu dodged left and right but couldn’t escape. In the end, she dived straight into Shen Chi’s arms.
"Let me go, let me go, if you keep tickling me, I’m going to bite you," Xu Chaomu kept laughing.
As a result, as she wriggled in his embrace, someone instinctively reacted again.
"Little Fairy, do you know you’re playing with fire?" Shen Chi laughed as he caught her and pinned her in his embrace.
"You started this, okay? You’re not allowed to bother me anymore tonight, my back is still sore."
"Back sore? Let me rub it." Then he began to make his moves.
At first, his hands kneaded at her back, but gradually they started misbehaving!
"Shen Chi, I’m being serious, stop moving!" Xu Chaomu pushed his hands away. "If I didn’t have a biological father, how would you deal with the Bai Family?"
"As the Bai Family treated you, I will treat them," he said.
"Just said it was all for me, yet you won’t admit it," Xu Chaomu snorted.
"I admit it, I admit it, because I love you," Shen Chi kissed her again.
Xu Chaomu actually knew very well that he loved her, but sometimes this man was just too infuriating.
"Is that enough?" Shen Chi murmured in her ear.
"Then explain clearly, how will you deal with the Bai Family?" Xu Chaomu pressed on.
"Although Jiang Zhilan was sentenced to over a decade of fixed-term imprisonment, do you think I would let her walk out of prison? Fourteen years ago, I almost lost you," he said.
"Fourteen years ago, who was all moral and proper all day long? Saying you didn’t care about me, but you were actually afraid of not seeing me," Xu Chaomu teased as if she had caught him in something.
"Because I was so afraid of losing you, I kissed you that time. You should know, that was my first kiss."
"Why didn’t you ever sink any lower?"
"Breaking through now... isn’t too late," Shen Chi pinched her clothes.
"And what else? Go on," Xu Chaomu brushed his hand away.
"There’s more... I won’t let Jiang Zhilan get away, and Bai Man, I definitely won’t let her go either. Once I force her out, I’ll send her to join Jiang Zhilan. Jiang Zhilan is getting old, but Bai Man is different; she’s still young. Spending her whole life in prison won’t be pleasant."
"Do you feel sorry for her?"
"Do you have a brain?" Shen Chi poked her forehead with his finger.
Xu Chaomu pouted; she was just saying things.
"As for Bai Xuan, he’s not at fault, but his blind protection of Bai Man really bothers me," Shen Chi said. "I intend to use him to find Bai Man."
Xu Chaomu kept silent, saying nothing.
"If the paternity test results come out and he’s really your father, then I’ll leave the decision up to you," Shen Chi declared emphatically.
"Why should I be the one to decide? I don’t want to," Xu Chaomu grumbled.
"Just now who was claiming to be more rational and aspiring to be the CEO? If you can’t even make one decision, I wouldn’t even want you to pour me tea," Shen Chi said contemptuously.
"Can’t you stop bullying me? I’m younger than you; can’t you just indulge me a bit?" Xu Chaomu muttered.
She recalled the time in his office when he had scolded her fiercely over a design draft.
Well, getting scolded once was also good; she remembered that lesson and kept it in mind for subsequent design drafts.
"There are things I can indulge in and things I can’t. This decision must be made by you," Shen Chi said earnestly.
"You’re afraid I’ll hate you if you make the wrong decision," Xu Chaomu scoffed.
"If that’s what you think, then have it your way," Shen Chi replied. "By the way, about the incident fourteen years ago, has any witness come to find you?"
When he mentioned this, Shen Chi tried to keep his demeanor calm and collected.
He knew he must not be the first to panic.
Xu Chaomu was startled, her fingertips trembling visibly.
"Have you been having people follow me again?" Xu Chaomu was dissatisfied.
"You told me so much on New Year’s Eve, how could I not know? Do you think I’m stupid?" Shen Chi said disdainfully.
Xu Chaomu thought about it; she had mentioned something on New Year’s Eve, but she couldn’t remember exactly what.
Alcohol really isn’t a good thing.
"Yes, they’ve found me. Actually, there are audio and video files in that USB drive...," Xu Chaomu hinted.
"I’ve seen them all," Shen Chi said. "What’s the background of this witness?"
"I didn’t ask."
"Pretending to be powerful!" Shen Chi suddenly laughed, glancing at her, "The harsh words on New Year’s Eve weren’t said like this."
Xu Chaomu touched her forehead, trying hard to recall what nonsense she had spouted on New Year’s Eve.
She seemed to remember she had said she would take Zhou Ran to court.
"Stop thinking; with your brain, what if you exhaust yourself to stupidity?" Shen Chi said. "Forget these useless words. Just remember that you told me ’I like you.’"
"Really? I never said those three words."
Shen Chi gave her a look.
"Tomorrow I’ll have someone look into this witness. Until then, don’t believe anything anyone tells you," Shen Chi said. "This witness has appeared twice, and each time, nothing good has happened. I suspect they’re being manipulated."
"Really?" Xu Chaomu asked, tilting her head.
"If you were a witness, after so many years, just out of a guilty conscience, would you go to all lengths to find the person involved from back then?" Shen Chi hypothesized.
