Chapter 140: Are You Planning to Kill Me?

With Agnes gone from Silverfall, the spiky witch hat also finally detached itself from Felix’s head. Two days later, when he woke up in the morning, it was no longer there.

He didn’t even realize it straight away. After spending days with it stubbornly stuck deep on his head, he got so accustomed to it that he hardly noticed it, unless he was washing up. Or eating, since he had to be careful not to dip the brim in the food. But the hat was otherwise comfortable, and see-through from the inside, so it was easy to forget it was there. It was only after Felix got up, removing the clingy fox from his chest, and went to the bathroom to wash his face, that he noticed that he could see his golden eyes and golden brown hair once again!

It was more than clear what that all meant - Remi didn’t want his mother to see Felix’s face! Although why, he had no clue. Agnes already figured out he was a wolf on their first meeting, so it couldn’t be because of his race. And as for his looks... Felix has always been considered beautiful, even among Omegas, who were naturally pretty. So it was unlikely that Remi was ashamed of him...

The only thing he could think of was that Remi didn’t want his mother to figure out Felix’s past with the Moonhill Pack. However, that didn’t make much sense - they had already told her that Felix had run away from his pack because he didn’t like his fated mate. Even if she figured out which pack he was from later on... So what? They were already involved with the Bloodmoon Pack (and the Misty Claw Pack as well, in a way, because of Remi undoing Einar Blackstone’s curse), so what was a little Moonhill Pack on top of that? Compared to the supremes, Felix’s former pack was hardly significant!

There was no way for Felix to find out what it was all about, though, at least for the time being. Remi had been insistent on ignoring the hat issue all this time, and Felix doubted he would suddenly become talkative now... So, all that he could do was to sigh, be glad that it was finally gone now, and move on with his life!

He had more pressing things to worry about. Such as Kade, for example... The potions for Einar Blackstone were now all ready, just waiting to be picked up. All Felix had to do was to make an appointment with Kade...

And since the Alpha would be coming to Silverfall, it was also the perfect time to discuss the Misty Claw Pack thing with him... Although honestly, Felix was a little nervous about the conversation.

Maybe even a little more than ’a little’.

Still, postponing it wouldn’t solve anything. So, he messaged Kade, [Call me when you have a moment.]

And less than ten minutes later, his phone started ringing.

...The man really had a lot of free time, huh?

Felix picked up the phone, asking before Kade could even say anything, "Are you alone now?"

"Yes, I’m very lonely..." Kade whined in response.

It wasn’t quite what Felix was asking about, but he took it as a ’yes’, and continued, getting straight to the point, "The potions are ready."

"Are they? Great! When can I come?"

"Whenever it suits you. Just..." Felix hesitated for a moment. He couldn’t reveal too much, or anything actually, over the phone, but he could at least tell Kade one thing. "Make sure no one knows where you are going."

"Why? Are you planning to kill me or something?" Kade asked, pretending to be worried.

But Felix wasn’t in the mood to play along... Not that he ever was.

"Stop joking around," he just said.

"I am not! I am truly scared..."

"Then don’t come. Problem solved," Felix snapped. "Actually, that’s better. Just send one of your guards... Or Fen."

"I’ll come, I’ll come! I want to see you again, even if that will result in me dying by your hand..." Kade let out a heavy sigh, as if he was resigning himself to some cruel fate. "However, I need to at least inform my father... Although I’m the heir, I still need to get the leader’s approval before leaving the pack."

"Your father is fine," Felix agreed. Einar Blackstone was the leader of the Bloodmoon Pack and the one affected the most by the situation, after all. If anyone could be trusted to keep it all confidential, then he was surely the one.

But Kade wasn’t done yet. "My mother will worry if she doesn’t know where I am..."

"...Your mother is also alright," Felix held back a sigh.

Kade’s mother was the Luna of the pack, so she should be trustworthy as well...

Kade, however, was STILL not done. "And my bunny Felix..."

"Young Master Kade," Felix interrupted the Alpha. Couldn’t this man be serious ever for a minute? How was he going to ever lead the pack at this rate? Of course, he was probably like that only in private, but... "Please stop joking. This is important."

Kade must have sensed that something was wrong from Felix’s tone, because he really did stop. "How about Thursday, then? In the early afternoon."

"Sounds good to me. Please let me know when you will be arriving, and I will meet you in the witch’s house."

"You will meet me?"

"Yes," Felix confirmed. "I will be waiting for you there. Just... Please ensure that no one aside from people who are already involved with the issue knows where you are going. It would be best if you headed in the opposite direction first, and took a roundabout way to reach the town."

"...Is that really necessary?"

"Yes. I understand that it might be an inconvenience to you, but it is important that your visit is kept a secret. I will explain everything when you arrive."

Kade remained silent for a while. It really was an inconvenience... After all, the road to Silverfall from the Bloodmoon Pack was already long enough. To extend it even more by wandering around...

However, Felix had to have a reason to request something like that, so he just suggested, "In this case, how about I come next week on Friday? We have some business with one of the packs in the area, just about a two-hour drive. It could serve as a cover-up for my trip."
