Chapter 135: Unremovable Hat
Chapter 135: Unremovable Hat
When Felix woke up the next morning, he immediately noticed three things.
First, Remi was back, clinging to his side, with his head resting on Felix’s chest, as always. He must have sneaked in sometime after the Omega fell asleep, after having a private chat with his mother.
Second, his neck was incredibly itchy. So much so, that it was almost painful.
And third... That annoying spiky witch hat was still stuck on his head, as if it had become an extension of his body now!
"Remi," he nudged the fox, biting his lip to hold back the desire to scratch his neck. "Wake up."
But the fox only readjusted himself, ignoring Felix’s words.
"Wake up. Help me take off this hat!"
Still no response, even though Remi’s ears clearly twitched.
"Remi!" Felix sighed helplessly. "I want to take a shower!"
Nothing.
Felix pressed his lips together. If that’s how the fox was going to be...
He reached his hand, and tickled Remi’s paws.
"YEEEEEEP!"
Remi shot out of bed, scrambling on the floor, and giving Felix a wounded, accusatory look.
But Felix only shrugged his shoulders with a smile. "You’ve asked for it yourself. I’ve asked you three times."
Remi scoffed, clearly disagreeing with Felix’s methods. So what if he had ignored the Omega? That’s not a reason to chase him out of bed with tickling!
"Stop sulking. I’ll make you your favorite pancakes later," Felix said, trying to pacify the fox. "But first, help me with the hat. I want to take a shower!"
Failing to see the problem, Remi tilted his head in response. If Felix wanted to wash up, then he could just do it in a hat, no?
And so Felix did. Although he wasn’t happy about it, he was just a rogue Omega werewolf, not a witch. He couldn’t undo the enchantments on the hat to remove it from his head, he needed Remi’s help for that, and the fox clearly had no interest in doing that! He couldn’t even tear it up. He tried, but the magical witch hat could withstand his supernatural strength!
Thus, the hat stayed on his head as he washed up, as he got dressed, and applied the balm on his itchy neck. It was still on when Felix made breakfast, and when they ate... Luckily, it only reached down to his nose, and it didn’t cover his mouth, so he could still eat just fine. But he had to hold the brim up, otherwise it would be getting in the way!
Even when he did the dishes and wanted to go out for a morning walk with Vivi to get some fresh air, the hat was still stuck on him. And Remi acted as if there wasn’t anything unusual about it.
...It was ridiculous, really. Felix felt a bit embarrassed, going out like that, in the bright daylight... At least it was around Halloween, so he didn’t look completely out of place.
Remi didn’t go with him. He stayed back in the house, lounging on the couch... And when Felix returned, he was waiting for him.
In his human form.
"Can you remove the hat now?" was the first thing Felix asked after looking the fox... or, well, the man, up and down.
However, Remi only smiled, and acted as if he didn’t hear him. "What do you want to do about the Bloodmoon Pack?" he asked instead.
What did he want to do about it? Honestly, Felix hasn’t given it any thought. It just sounded so out of place, ludicrous even, to even suggest that someone like him had any say in what happened to the Bloodmoon Pack, one of the SUPREMES. It was already weird enough thinking about how much he had influenced the fate of the pack, acting as an intermediary between Kade and Remi the witch. He knew why Remi was asking him about it, but...
"What can I even do?" he asked, taking a seat in front of the fox. "I mean, what options are there to choose from?"
"I... don’t know," Remi admitted. "We will have to discuss it with Agnes."
"Agnes?"
"The witch you met yesterday."
"Your mother."
"...Yes," Remi confirmed with a slight nod.
It was a bit odd, having such a conversation with Remi. Sitting by the kitchen table in Felix’s house, with the bright daylight flooding the room through the windows, both in their human forms, and with Remi’s face fully visible. All their ’human’ meetings (ignoring the night when Felix had been in heat) until now were filled with mystique, shrouded in purple smoke, with Remi’s eyes covered by the hat... The hat that was now stuck on Felix’s head, covering his eyes instead, so perhaps it wasn’t entirely ’normal’... But, at least from his point of view, it was.
And the topic as well. Putting aside discussing the fate of the Bloodmoon Pack as they had any control over it (which they kind of did, actually, or at least Remi had...), Remi admitting that Agnes was his mother made him look oddly... human. No longer like a mysterious witch, but as a young man. He was still both of them, of course, it was just that Felix never quite got a chance to see him in this light before.
It was... nice. Somehow, Felix felt a bit more comfortable.
Remi, on the other hand, was surprisingly bashful, not used to presenting himself in such a ’human’ way. He averted his eyes, and cleared his throat, shifting the conversation back to the main topic, "We have to discuss it with her to come to an agreement, but I thought I should ask you in private first, since I’m not sure how much you want to reveal."
Felix pressed his lips, thinking for a moment. "The less the better..." he eventually said. To be honest, he’d rather not reveal anything at all, but that might be difficult, so... "At least I want to keep my bond with Kade a secret."
"Of course." Remi nodded his head. He seemed... surprisingly pleased. "How would you like to explain our connection with that annoying Alpha?"
...That annoying Alpha?
Felix lifted his brows. He didn’t comment on it, though, and instead asked, "How much do you trust her?"
"Agnes?" Remi tilted his head. "I trust her completely."
"...Is that so?" As he remembered how nervous Remi had been the day before, Felix was rather unconvinced. However, Remi firmly confirmed,
"No matter what, she is on my side."
If he said so...
"Let’s do it this way, then..."
