Chapter 99: Chapter 99 Leaving, Ambush!

Liang Hui was met with the silver-haired woman’s seemingly amused but nonchalant expression.

"Do you think my sect would leave such a huge flaw? You can no longer leave Tuzhou."

"Go to the Beast Taming Sect, that is the only force in Tuzhou that can put up some resistance and even protect itself."

She waved her hand, and a book along with a silver Jade Pendant floated before her, drifting towards Liang Hui.

"The Jade Pendant is the token of the Beast Taming Sect, allowing you entrance to the sect. The book is a secret technique that should interest you."

Liang Hui examined the two items before him, and after ensuring there was nothing amiss with the help of the Flowing Light Bell, he reached out and took them.

He immediately stored the silver Jade Pendant in his storage space, then flipped through a few pages of the book before closing it.

He gave Feng Li a deep look.

The book detailed a secret technique that could change one’s aura and transform one’s appearance. Its subtlety was no less than the transformative arts Liang Hui had summarized himself and could even be said to be better.

He put the book into his storage space.

"I hope we have the chance to meet again."

He turned around,

and walked briskly towards the outside.

He never answered whether he would go to the Beast Taming Sect.

"Taoist Child, what do you think of my future achievements? Will they be great?" A delicate voice came from behind him.

The young man’s steps hesitated briefly, then continued as usual.

Only a deep voice echoed in the courtyard.

"Very high! Very high!"

Before the voice had faded, Liang Hui’s figure had already vanished from the woman’s view.

In the vast mansion garden, only the silver-haired woman leaned against the doorframe, chuckling softly.

After leaving Silver Moon Peak, Liang Hui quickly made his way to Lan Yue Pavilion’s mountain gate to process his departure from the sect.

...

Atop Crimson Moon Peak,

a middle-aged beauty clad in a crimson robe sat cross-legged on a boulder, meditating with her eyes closed.

Suddenly, the middle-aged woman opened her eyes and retrieved a Jade Slip from her bosom to examine.

Afterward, her gaze turned towards the direction of the mountain gate.

Her eyes flickered, pondering something unknown.

Lan Yue Pavilion, a hundred miles away, in Lumyue City.

Within the City Lord’s Mansion, several figures in red robes majestically sat in the grand hall.

A red-robed person sitting at a lower seat took out a Jade Slip to look at.

Moments later, he respectfully addressed the figure sitting in the higher position, "Protector, Qin Dao, who has been accompanying the Saintess all this time, is about to leave Lan Yue Pavilion."

Upon hearing this, the burly figure seated higher up seemed to take an interest, straightening his body.

"The reason?"

"The intelligence describes that he is taking on a mission to exterminate Mo."

"Ha! Ha! It seems that Qin Dao, the one who slaughtered the entire Lu Family, still harbors the righteousness of a true Daoist disciple," the rough voice was filled with skepticism.

After several breaths,

the laughter filling the grand hall suddenly stopped.

"Flying Fox, Xue Li, take three Marrow Refining Level cultists and capture Qin Dao," instructed the figure.

"I want to know, what has he been discussing with the Saintess during the half month they were together?"

"Besides, during this time, it would be better for Lan Yue Pavilion disciples to stay in the sect."

After a pause, the Protector spoke again:

"Hong Fei, you should also go."

"After all, Qin Dao is the one who killed Lu Xue and the Lu Family Head. With the six of you joining forces and employing the sect’s combined attack technique, we can ensure a foolproof capture."

"Understood!" x6

In a chorus of respectful responses, six figures stood up and swiftly made their way into the distance.

From start to finish, no one cared about offending the Saintess by this act.

Or rather, no one cared.

After all, there were as many as nine Saintesses in the Red Lotus Sect, and a still weak and ungrown Saintess was nothing.

.....

Thousands of miles away from Lan Yue Pavilion,

trees and rocks continuously whisked by Liang Hui’s sides.

He was not flying, and even his running speed on the ground was intentionally controlled.

Ever since he learned of the events that would transpire in Tuzhou, Liang Hui surmised that his departure wouldn’t be easy.

On one hand: He had spent too much time with Feng Li, and the nature of their interactions was also quite abnormal, considering he lived at the top of Silver Moon Peak upon joining Lan Yue Pavilion.

On the other hand, leaving the Lan Yue Pavilion at this time, even with a legitimate reason, would inevitably invite trouble.

He was curious to see the strength of those who might come to ambush him.

If they were weak, he would kill them; if strong, he would run.

Five minutes!

Ten minutes!

Fifteen minutes!

Liang Hui stopped in his tracks, his palm gripping the Flame Thunder Spear on his back, and a smile appeared on his face.

The enemy was here.

Ahead, the leaves rustled as five figures, two in front and three behind, stepped forward not far from the young man.

They were cloaked in red hoods and wore masks of varying designs, each figure radiating a powerful aura.

The leader spoke directly,

"Qin Dao, come with us. A certain dignitary..."

Crackle! Boom!

A pale blue lightning filled the spear, which he then lashed out with in the next instant.

The air within a hundred meters radius exploded, and the rolling shockwaves made the ground tremble.

Boom!

Another thunderous noise followed.

Within the blinding lightning, a shade of crimson was flowing.

Liang Hui watched with interest the gigantic Crimson Lotus before him.

"Not bad for a combined attack technique, but that’s all it is—not bad."

He stepped forward, his aura climbing higher as the space filled with a fierce killing intent.

The long spear carrying the thunder, thrust out abruptly.

"Kill him!"

The leader of the Red Lotus Sect cultists yelled with all his might.

Just from that single strike, he no longer harbored any wishes to capture him alive.

Too strong! Stronger than he could have imagined!

To kill!

The Crimson Lotus spun, its petals fluttering down, beautiful yet deadly.

With each forward thrust of the spear, the crimson petals shattered into ash.

Bang!

The tip of the spear pressed against the Crimson Lotus, and the lightning flared instantaneously, coiling around the whole bloom like a dazzling thunder snake.

Suddenly, Liang Hui withdrew his spear and retreated.

In the next instant, a multitude of pitch-black flames descended from the sky, landing in front of the Crimson Lotus.

Liang Hui extended his hand, pale as jade.

He watched the pitch-black flames that fell onto the back of his hand, burning continuously, along with his rapidly depleting Inner Strength.

His interest piqued even more, he flicked away the Inner Strength along with the flames.

He cast an indifferent glance at the rapidly approaching Crimson Lotus.

Lifting his head, he looked toward the figure holding the Flowing Light Bell in the sky.

The corner of his mouth stretched into a grin.

His body leaned back, his feet pushing off powerfully.

His waist, chest, and arms aligned in a sloping line.

All his power concentrated in the palm holding the spear.

Meanwhile, the blinding lightning mixed with fiery red flames gathered upon the spear.

With a the force, he hurled it.

The spear almost instantly crossed the space, nearing the Taoist Child.

Be it the pitch-black flames or the Mana Field, even the Jade Bell protecting in front of the Taoist Child.

All were penetrated, shattered.

Ah!

Amidst a wail of agony, the figure in the sky was pinned to the mountains.

Only then did he lower his head to look at the approaching Crimson Blood Lotus.

His palm, as smooth as jade, stretched out and pressed against the Crimson Lotus.

Thud!

The young man took three steps back and then stopped.

His eyes, cold and indifferent, observed the five figures within the Crimson Lotus, as if he could see the panic-stricken faces beneath their masks.
