Chapter 640: [Bonus Chapter]Graveyard
"Boss!"
Bear yelled the second he jumped into the rooftop after kicking the door. He stopped in an instant as the surrounding was even brighter than the staircase. He slowly set his wide eyes on the chopper that was currently burning, allowing everyone to see the gruesome sight on the rooftop.
"Boss," he breathed out, taking large steps ahead while looking around.
For sure, Heaven was on the rooftop. After all, their plan was for Dominic to deal with Silas since they were family. And Heaven would deal with Primo. As someone who had been around her since she was a child, Bear already knew she would choose this place. Moreover, they’ve been searching for a place for Grandma Zhu. Surely, Heaven wasn’t there and there was only one place he hadn’t checked.
The rooftop now turned into a graveyard.
But where was she now?
Bear could feel his heart thudding as he picked up his pace, ignoring the burning chopper to see the people on the ground. He flipped and turned the people to see if she was one of them. Every time he checked on a person, his heart would stop for a second and then short relief would replace it when it wasn’t her.
"Please..." he whispered in panic, turning to another dead person to see the person’s face. "... where the hell are you now?"
Deep in his heart, he wished Heaven had just not been here at all. She might be capable, but she was like a daughter to him. His growing worry was valid.
Meanwhile, as Bear searched the place and checked the dead, Silas followed after just a moment.
"Ugh!" He winced in pain, kicking the door shut and locking it with great difficulty. When he finished, he released Grandma Zhu and looked around. Only then did Silas realize there was no hope for him anymore. Countless dead bodies were around, the chopper was on fire, and there was no out.
"Hah..." he breathed out as he dropped his weapon to his side, staggering forward. "Did he escape?"
His throat shook as he gulped a mouthful, taking deep breaths. For him, Primo burned the chopper so he wouldn’t escape. Knowing Primo, he would surely do something like that. As if a bucket of ice was splashed down on him, Silas dropped to his knees.
"Ugh." He winced as his wounded leg squirted out blood. "Damn. After all that struggle."
A glint flickered across his bitter eyes, thinking life was playing tricks on him. First, he thought he wouldn’t make it to the rooftop because of his injuries, only to see Grandma Zhu, the perfect hostage, to reach his destination unscathed. But now that he was on the rooftop, he realized that even if he had a hostage, it was futile.
His destination was a dead end.
BAM!
Silas heard the door he locked fly open with a loud kick. But he didn’t look back. Although he didn’t have that much confidence in Dominic in terms of strength, that rude bastard named Tiger was strong. Silas had to admit that even with his skills in close combat, and even if he was sober, Tiger would beat him to a pulp.
"I didn’t realize how tiring it was..." he whispered, relaxing his worn-out muscle on the floor. He just sat there, glancing his eyes over the dead bodies loitering the place. Soon, the number of dead people in here would add another one.
As he realized this place would be his grave, Silas raised his brows curiously.
"What is he doing?" he muttered, watching Bear and the people on the ground. "Is someone he knows should be here?"
He blinked wearily and then realized Heaven was probably in here. The corner of his mouth curled up into a smile, yet a glint of bitterness flickered across his eyes.
"Too bad," he whispered. "Another beautiful human died because of this family’s curse."
Silas chuckled despite the bitter taste that was left in his mouth. This reminded him of Olivia. Heaven and his mother were more or less alike. However, the slight remorse in his heart wasn’t enough to overcome the hatred he had in this family.
Silas slowly looked back, expecting to see Dominic and Tiger. He did. Those two were still standing by the door motionlessly. His eyes then fell to the side, seeing that Grandma Zhu had already passed out.
"Madam!" Ignoring Dominic’s orders, Butler Fu still followed. The moment he saw Grandma Zhu on the side of the entrance, he rushed to her and checked her pulse.
"Tch." Silas clicked his tongue, a bit annoyed at Butler Fu and his grandmother. "She’s still alive. I should’ve killed her when I got the chance."
Silas slowly shifted his eyes to Dominic and then to Tiger. He could see that Dominic’s mind seemed to blank at the sight of the rooftop. But Tiger’s expression was different. Tiger just seemed curious.
Was he wondering who did this?
Silas shook his head as he already got an answer to that. It was Primo. Who else? That man would sacrifice his own men to save himself. And also, Primo would surely want to end Silas by burning this chopper.
"Boss!!" After a minute, Silas’s attention was snatched by Bear once again as the man suddenly roared. "Are you alive?! Where are you!?"
"Boss?" Silas furrowed his brows, glancing at Dominic. "He’s there."
"Heaven!" Dominic’s voice echoed the next second, taking a step to help Bear look for his wife. "Heaven! Can you hear me?!"
He didn’t even stop for Silas despite seeing him, just wanting to make sure his wife was okay. Although they didn’t know where the explosion came from, their priority was to know if she was still alive. But as they looked for her, the roaring sound of the rotor rang in everyone’s ears.
Tiger’s face instantly darkened upon catching the approaching helicopter. Bear and Dominic halted their search as they shifted their attention to the sound’s source. Silas and Butler Fu also turned their heads, brows furrowed.
The closer the helicopter approached, they saw a man fearlessly standing by the open door. Tiger and Bear’s pupils slowly dilated as their complexion paled at the sight of those pair of cold and dark, looking down at them.
