Chapter 1783: Chapter 1783: Chaos Twelve Envoys, Wild Beast Envoy

The death of Xuanyuan Ming.

Undoubtedly served as a warning to Xu Yeming, who had previously neglected to stay alert to the Xuanyuan Clan.

Xu Yeming looked at Xuanyuan Zixi and smiled, "It seems the alliance between the Xu Family and the Xuanyuan Clan still requires further discussion."

Xuanyuan Zixi shrugged with a faint smile, "Brother Xu Luo, please forgive us. This was merely Xuanyuan Ming’s personal actions and has nothing to do with the Xuanyuan Clan. I ask that Brother Xu Luo consider the greater picture."

Xu Chen sneered from the side, "So it’s a ’personal action,’ is it? Since when did sword cultivators of the Xuanyuan Clan stoop to such disgraceful behavior?"

Xuanyuan Zixi, however, did not seem angered by Xu Chen’s bluntness. His expression remained composed as he said in a deep voice, "When faced with life-and-death crises, most would desperately clutch at any straw to save themselves at all costs. Xuanyuan Ming was no exception...though, for a sword cultivator, his actions were indeed disgraceful. It only shows that Xuanyuan Ming’s understanding of the sword cultivation path was far from sufficient."

"He sullied the name of the Xuanyuan Clan, so his death is well-deserved." Xuanyuan Zixi spoke these chilling words in the calmest tone, then turned to Xu Luo with a faint smile. "Don’t you agree, Brother Xu Luo?"

Xu Yeming stood at a height beyond the reach of the whirlpool’s pull, sneering as he replied, "You all better worry about avoiding being swallowed by the beast yourselves, instead of wasting time on all these explanations."

Did they take him for a fool?

However, with Xu Yeming taking the lead to attempt it,

everyone else quickly realized that reaching Xu Yeming’s altitude would allow them to escape the whirlpool’s grasp.

Whether it was the Xuanyuan Clan’s group, Huang Xin, Han Daoxuan, or Xu Chen, they all emulated Xu Yeming’s method—using explosive force with the help of medicinal pills to launch themselves beyond the whirlpool’s influence!

This method required extraordinarily precise timing,

but...who here could be considered ordinary?

That said.

The other cultivators in other directions were far less fortunate.

In the absence of any breakthroughs, eight were torn to shreds by the sea beast.

The Golden Scale Sect suffered especially heavy losses, with three members perishing outright.

As everyone escaped the pull of the whirlpool and left the area,

the sea beast ceased its pursuit.

"No more beast ambushes?" Xu Chen gazed out across the calm blue sea, seeing no dark shadows in the water. Bewildered, he asked, "Could it be that the crisis has passed?"

Xuanyuan Zixi frowned. "That seems unlikely."

"Drop the ’seems,’" Xu Yeming sneered coldly.

That old schemer—if he wasn’t cooking up some trouble, Xu Yeming wouldn’t believe it!

Even if there were no ensuing crises, the old man would still contrive ways to create some just to target Xu Yeming.

Sure enough.

Just as those words left his mouth,

the sea surface began to churn violently again.

This time, countless sea tornadoes erupted out of nowhere!

Dense and innumerable, the sea tornadoes shot skyward from beneath everyone’s feet, forcing Xu Yeming and the others to continually dodge.

But these tornadoes clung to their prey like shadows, rising in perfect synchronization with everyone’s movements.

The entire sea region was soon enveloped in a sprawling network of sea tornadoes.

Groups who had gathered were forced to scatter.

Yet.

These sea tornadoes caused no casualties.

It felt more like someone was intentionally trying to separate them...

But why the need to divide them?

Dodging one tornado after another, Xu Yeming pondered.

Surely, it’s to increase the difficulty...possibly because their alliance had come close to meeting the conditions for passing this trial.

Xu Yeming reflected on what they had said and done prior.

The things they discussed—could they already have been approaching the conditions to pass?

But just as Xu Yeming was deep in thought,

over in the Xuanyuan Clan’s direction, a particular aura caught Xu Yeming’s attention.

Xuanyuan Zixi, dodging a chain of sea tornadoes, unsheathed his sword. In that instant, a trace of chilling energy emanated from him, striking a chord of familiarity within Xu Yeming.

Xu Yeming frowned slightly.

It was an aura he didn’t recall encountering firsthand; had he done so, he wouldn’t have forgotten it.

So, when could it have been?

But just then...

Xu Yeming suddenly found himself enveloped in darkness.

Before he could react, all light vanished in an instant!

To onlookers.

Xu Chen, Xuanyuan Zixi, Huang Xin, Han Daoxuan, and Jin Wuheng all bore witness to the sea beast swallowing "Xu Luo" in a single bite.

Their faces displayed varied expressions.

Some wore looks of joy, while others appeared visibly furious.

Huang Xin and Han Daoxuan began pondering how they would explain this upon returning.

The Xuanyuan Clan members were evidently pleased.

It seemed they wouldn’t need to make a move after all.

Xu Chen, however, looked deeply unsettled.

Did he just die so suddenly? How could that be possible?

As everyone weighed their own thoughts,

Xu Yeming examined his surroundings, finding himself in utter darkness. Yet, he could hear the sound of water flowing.

It felt as though some kind of barrier had isolated him.

Before him stood a massive altar.

Upon the altar sat a skeleton in a meditative posture.

It seemed ancient.

Yet the skeleton remained perfectly intact, radiating a luminous white glow reminiscent of fine jade.

"What is this place?" Xu Yeming slowly approached, puzzled.

"Where do you think it is?"

A voice suddenly emanated from the center of the altar. Startled, Xu Yeming took two steps back and assumed a defensive stance, a brush appearing in his hand.

"What sort of ghostly thing is speaking?"

"Ghostly thing? Hah. I suppose you could indeed call me that now..." The skeleton sitting at the altar slowly began to rise.

As it stood,

emerald-green light flared from the altar, converging into streams of brilliance that encircled the skeleton. Veins, flesh, and blood began to take form anew!

Within moments,

under Xu Yeming’s wary gaze, the figure morphed into a refined man in white robes.

The man held a scroll in his hand, smiling as he looked at Xu Yeming. "The Imperial Preceptor foresaw that millions of years after his time, someone would stand before me—someone destined to reshape the world. It seems the Imperial Preceptor’s predictions were accurate, foretelling even the secrets of heaven!"

Xu Yeming froze upon hearing these words.

Imperial Preceptor?

Foreseeing events millions of years ahead?

Could such a feat even be possible?

To achieve that would require unimaginable power, wouldn’t it?

Xu Yeming cupped his hands and asked, "May I ask who Senior is?"

The man replied, "I am the Wild Beast Envoy, one of the Twelve Envoys of the Chaos Divine Dynasty. As for my name...heh, the Twelve Envoys have no personal names, only titles."

Seeing that Xu Yeming was about to ask more questions,

the Wild Beast Envoy raised his hand. "If you have questions, set them aside for now. Once you obtain the Sun and Moon Token, you will naturally learn about the Chaos Divine Dynasty. As for the Imperial Preceptor, I know little. The Imperial Preceptor remains the most enigmatic figure within the Chaos Divine Dynasty."

"What remains of me here is but a fragment of will. Even my soul has long since vanished. Now, prepare to receive my inheritance."

Xu Yeming hesitated. "Why did Senior choose me?"

The Wild Beast Envoy shook his head. "I didn’t know before. But now...I do."

"You possess the Classic of Mountains and Seas, don’t you?"
