Chapter 433: Chapter 433- Festival 164- The Sun Comet 13

‘Not yet.’

The words rang in Nicho’s skull as his chest tightened.

A slight frown on his face as he shifted to the next unconscious student.

Three had awoken…finally.

Sluggish in their actions, but nonetheless, they are alive and well.

Marshall Lorientt. Alicia Berry. Timothy Pheran.

These three were still seated on the ground.

Their expressions hung on the threadbare edge of waking.

But still, that fog would lift in time.

Ciara and Louis, who had stood behind, had watched the scene unfold.

Though, they had different views on the whole thing.

One wondered why three had awoken while his beloved remained under his spell, and the other wondered at the magickery behind the miasma removal.

‘He’s simply touching their faces…though, his hands seem perfectly aligned the whole time.’

She thought to herself.

Her inspection of his work was undergoing constant re-evaluation.

She stood still, but her mind ran wild.

She focused her eyes. Peering into the man’s actions as much as she could.

Mana removal may be performed through the same actions as Miasma removal, but she wasn’t taking chances.

In situations where people like this occur, she must find a solution.

And not search for the caster to lift it up.

‘The caster won’t even show up. I must find a loophole.’

And so, she continued.

At this point, Nicho was done curing the fourth. Koko Dreau.

Koko was a descendant of the Dreau household, yes, and had a close relationship with the Headmaster, but their connection was that of an uncle and a nephew.

The young lad, unlike the others, was a quiet one.

Hardly made a peep in class and didn’t show himself much, but this Mage could not be easily taken down.

Or at least, most would assume.

Koko Dreau slowly snapped from his long, forced dream.

His body, heavy. Eyes, woozy and speech refusing to leave his mouth.

Just like the others…the same conditions.

Ciara had noticed this, but let it slide.

She wasn’t well-versed in the knowledge of energy removal, but she couldn’t tell if this was a normal process or an induced process.

‘Either way.’

Just then, she heard a sudden huff behind her.

Then Louis took a large step forward and crossed her peripheral vision.

His footsteps echoed as they sparked Nicho’s attention, who turned slowly, only to suddenly get picked up by the collar and slammed against the wall.

Nicho heaved slightly.

A tense silence hung in the balance as the two males glared at each other.

Ciara watched, but she was far from amused.

“Louis. What are you doing?”

The young boy clicked his tongue. Held Nicho higher, then pointed his right hand at Mariam who sat unconscious.

“She was the first!” He stated. His words choked in his mouth. “She was the first person you should have cured! Not just because I wanted it, but because her body lay right in front of you!”

Ciara’s brows twitched. Then her eyes narrowed.

She had noticed it as well.

Mariam was the one who was set in front of him, but he skipped her and went straight for the next person. Marshall Lorientt.

‘But that was a little detail. Louis must be feeling agitated.’

She thought to herself.

“Louis, I understand but you should know we have limited time.”

“Limited time?”

“What’s happening?”

“Huh, where are we?”

As if to add to her worries, three of the four awakened students had begun to speak.

‘Five minutes.’

It took that long for them to be awkward after the miasma was lifted.

‘What a hassle.’ She thought as she shifted her gaze from them to Louis.

“Louis. We do not have time. Let the man work.”

‘Nicho is up to something.’

Louis clicked his tongue.

His fists gripping tightly against the man’s neck while the latter glared erratically at the assault.

Nicho’s lips twitched. Delightment comes into play as a smile.

“Yeah. I did it purposely. So what? Are you going to kill me?”

Louis froze. His body convulsed with visible rage, and then he dropped him.

A sigh escaped his lips as he walked away, just as Nicho sat up.

His hands were slowly tracing his neck.

‘Treated like garbage by kids…’ the thought pressed against his very being. ‘DISGUSTING!’

But…

The pain assaulted him once more.

A sudden shrill that shook him in a second, alerting him to the threat of one who was more than just a kid.

His glare shifted to Ciara.

Her expression, devoid of emotions.

“Continue.” She stated, and so…he did.

“Ci– Ciara Merlin?”

Alicia’s voice pierced the air. Grabbing Ciara and Louis’s attention.

“Even Louis La Teuer from Class Two.”

This time, Timothy spoke. His voice broke from the realization.

The three students stood against the wall of the Pipelines.

Their bodies fully adjusted now, but their minds were in a haze. Trying to fill in what was left unfinished.

Ciara decided to help.

“Timothy, Marshall and Alicia…” She called.

They responded with a flinch and an evident surprise on their face.

‘Ciara Merlin knows our names?!’

“What’s the last thing you remember?” She asked.

Alicia scratched the back of her head while the two males glanced at each other.

A subtle silence took over with the sound of Nicho working on the fifth student.

A second passed. Then ten, and soon…a minute.

Before it all clicked, together.

“The Masked Figures!!” They screamed in unison. Before glancing at each other in surprise.

“You too, Berry? You were attacked by those hideous people?” Timothy asked.

She nodded. “Yes. I was able to take down two of them, but their synchronised fighting defeated me before I could make an impact.”

Marshall arched his brow.

“You witnessed five masked figures invade your room and the first thing you did was to fight them?”

His tone dripped with a rather, hard-to-miss syrupy sarcasm.

They all glanced at him. Ciara and Louis are included.

Their silence gave him the answer he needed, and Marshall scoffed.

“What grand confidence. To think you would defeat five foes of the Master rank when you’re not even a Master yourself.”

The other two opened their mouths to speak but instinctively closed them.

Ciara smirked slightly and whipped her head away.

Louis simply arched his brow. Intrigued by his statement.

And Nicho? He laughed.

The man was done with the fifth, Tiara Gold and had finally turned to the last– Mariam Aquarius.

By then, Ciara visualised the images of him absorbing the Miasma, and this was what she concluded.

‘There was no visible pattern…but there was a part he continued to touch.’

It must have been his effort in ensuring no one knew the process, but Ciara didn’t care.

All she needed was a bit of data, and she would experiment with the rest.

‘The frontal lobe…temporalis…’

She tilted her head, contemplating.

Ciara wasn’t a healer or a biologist — just a mage with curiosity.

‘The Mind Sea…the part closest to the brain.’

There was a word that the Kang Lin household called it.

Ki, their form of energy was stored in this mind sea.

Then something clicked.

‘Is he perhaps using a method used mostly in the North? Or better still…Beyond the North.’

Each of the cardinals had a beyond.

A place not considered in the history books of the Kingdom of Lumbrica.

An existing world the Kingdom refused to explore.

Beyond the North was just one of those, and the Kang Lin household, as much as the Jun Household were both linked to it.

‘Well…it doesn’t matter. I’ll formulate the rest myself once I get to the Earth Tower.’

“Are you saying we should have run away! Instead of fighting?!”

Alicia’s voice broke through her thoughts.

It seemed like the now-awakened students had gotten into a heated argument.

It startled Ciara.

‘What are they? Kids?’ She wondered in bafflement when the realisation struck. ‘Oh…’

A sigh escaped her lips.

“All I’m saying is, what is the point of fighting a group when you’re incapable of defeating them?”

“Marshall?!” Alicia muttered.

Timothy clicked his tongue while he shook his head.

“Those are not words I expected to hear from a Lorientt. You battle maniacs aren’t one to take a run even if a Dragon came for your head.”

Marshall whipped his head.

“Well, that too…is nonsensical.”

The others blinked at his statement. Sighed and turned away, while laughter broke through the air.

Once again, from Nicho.

They had ignored it once. But twice? No.

“Who is this young one–armed man, if I may ask, Lady Ciara?”

Pheran asked as he glanced from him to her.

She flinched slightly at her name and tilted her head at him.

“Just Ciara is fine.” She said, then with a slight nudge from the depths of her heart, she replied to his question.

“One of the Executives of the Red Peacemakers.”

The world rang in silence.

A terribly loud one.

Then for the first time, Koko moved.

He jumped from the ground and backed off.

‘Oh, He was awake? Five minutes had passed, and I wondered why he still sat down.’ Ciara glanced at him with childish curiosity.

A sort of spark of laughter in her once condescending stare.

The boy panted visibly.

“Wha– Wha– What is an executive doing here?”

He asked.

“Saving your lives,” Nicho replied. “What does it look like I’m doing?”

He clicked his tongue as he stood to his feet.

Now, finally, he was done.

And the subtle movements from Mariam, which began soon, had made it evident.

The blue-haired Mermaid princess flinched ever so slightly.

A slow nudge in her eyes.

Her lips parted, and a puff escaped.

Louis immediately charged over and pushed Nicho like a racking ball, falling to his knees as he cupped her cheeks. Slowly. Tenderly.

There was warmth in his eyes now.

In the way he moved. Felt.

Like a part of him had been sewn back. One that held much humanity and emotions that were missing the whole time.

Louis felt at peace.

The others watched slowly, but Ciara was already making her way to Nicho.

Grabbing him by his left arm and pushing it behind his back.

“What are you doing, Merlin?” He asked. “This wasn’t part of the deal.”

She suddenly slammed him face-first against the wall.

A sudden click echoed in his ear as something iron and cold licked the back of his neck.

A gun.

“La– Lady Ciara?”

The attention quickly turned to Ciara in a heartbeat.

“What are you doing?” Nicho repeated.

“What does it look like? Taking care of a threat before it comes back to bite me.”

“You think killing me would be a good idea?”

The man scoffed.

“I wouldn’t bet on it. The whole Cult will come to your head. That Whole So Powerful Household of yours will fall by our hands.”

A deep silence lasted.

Then as soon as it did, it ended.

Ciara’s decision was final.

“I’ll take my chances.”

BANG!
