I Refused To Be Reincarnated
Chapter 602: A Child’s Wrath

Chapter 602: A Child’s Wrath

Clouds swirled in an intricate corona around a sphere of void. Inside, star-like lights shimmered to contrast the azure sky.

He gasped at the island floating in the centre and the waterfalls drawing rainbows by its sides. But it was the gardens that made his fists tremble. Vermillion, lilac and emerald flowers glinted with life in neat gardens. Besides them, ancient trees covered in fruits that made his stomach grumble pierced the lush soil.

He had no doubts. Their qualities were extraordinary—some even on the Silvermoon tree tier. Yet, his blood boiled, and his legs tensed when he saw what lay behind.

The soil turned into slabs, moats running under immaculate wooden bridges. A palace reminding him of an imperial forbidden city towered behind. Golden roofs supported by red pillars carved with dragons, phoenixes, qilins, and white tigers pierced the void.

He couldn’t see what was hidden behind the walls, but the formations engraved on them made him step forward uncontrollably.

If he could see the sect’s mountain Qi swirl because of its density, the one inside this city seemed almost tangible, an aggregation of life force particles swaying to nurture the blessed land’s vegetation and beasts.

Without realising it, he was already charging toward this treasure trove with a bright smile.

Yet, a frown creased his brows as he saw more core disciples split the wind on their swords. Worse, a few left their groups to hunt down any competing cultivators... and two wearing the blue robes of the Broken Sword Cliff locked on him.

"My, my. What’s such a brat doing in this dangerous competition?" A young man said as he landed and pointed his intricate blade at him.

His colleague leapt behind Adam, shaking his head. "I’m not really into killing kids." He sighed. "You can only blame the competition and your sect leader for his repeated offences against Duan Jian."

Adam cracked his neck as he felt their life force before a grin split his face.

"Two nascent soul realm experts just to kill me? I’m almost flattered, seniors." His tone grew icy as gray Qi swirled from his eyes. "Let me give you some advice: go all out, or you won’t have time to regret targeting me."

The two men exchanged a confused glance. Was this kid out of his mind? Then, the first shrugged as a typhoon enveloped his blade and sent his hair flying.

"The Jin Long sect teaches its disciples well. So young, yet almost as arrogant as Tianlong. Humph. Let a real senior disciple teach you manners."

Adam watched the wind whip the disciple’s robes as he launched into a graceful charge. Those refined movements—the soft noise of his feet against the soil as if his weight had vanished—he realised it was a movement technique.

’Tsk. Show off. But I have my technique, too,’ he sneered as he raised his fists.

His skin split, a few molten scales appearing amidst erupting flames.

Simultaneously, the man accelerated when he reached one meter. His arm turned into a blur, the blade glinting in a horizontal arc, sending pressurised wind to rip his throat.

Well, a blur to people weaker than him, much less for someone with mythical eyes.

Adam’s lips curled into a mocking smirk as he hurled an uppercut at seemingly nothing.

BAM

A thud echoed, a blade flashed upward, and the disciple’s eyes widened. He groaned, his forearm trembling as the muscles caved in to take the form of the brat’s fist.

Before the shock could settle in his mind, Adam’s voice echoed.

"Told you to go all out... or was that your maximum?"

Without giving the man a second to recover, his hips pivoted, and his back muscles tensed. Each fiber roared with Qi as he hurled his fiery fist at his adversary’s head.

"Boom." He muttered before sickening, crunching noises thundered.

The disciple’s nose broke in a spray of blood. Cracks formed on the dense skull before the face caved in a disgusting spectacle. Yet, the fist continued without losing momentum, shattering the bones and crushing the brain.

"Tsk. It didn’t explode since he’s in the fifth tier."

Despite the violence of his blow, he rolled his eyes and retrieved his bloodied hand.

Then, he turned toward the trembling disciple behind him and beckoned with a curled finger.

"M-Monster!" the man roared, his eyes wide and his breath stuck in his throat.

No... this couldn’t be happening. Even without considering Adam’s age, an inner disciple couldn’t be this powerful.

Cultivation resources, top-grade techniques, guidance from the very best: they had enjoyed them all for years. The gap was just as wide as the distance between heaven and earth. And when it came to the man Adam had killed... He was the strongest under Duan Jian’s disciple and could fight most inner elders to a standstill. Yet, he didn’t even have a chance to display his swordsmanship.

He gripped his hair, the lace tying it coming undone as terror overwhelmed him. It was much worse. To crush a nascent soul realm expert, Adam had to be a tier higher, at the very least.

Flee! The thought reverberated as he leapt on his sword and took to the sky.

"I-I’ll regroup with the others. They have to know!"

With trembling hands, he retrieved a jade slip from his spatial ring and infused it with Qi, determined to warn his fellow disciples: Adam was a disguised expert who probably infiltrated the Jin Long sect. Or did Tianlong plan this?

However, a voice echoed behind, chilling his soul and sending his mind into an abyss of despair.

"Where are you going? I thought you’d kill me to save face for your leader."

He turned his head, sweat pouring down his twitching brows before he saw him stand behind him, an innocent smile curving his lips.

"No!" His grip tightened on the slip as he shoved it in front of his mouth. "The Jin Long sect cheated! Be wary of a blue-haired kid about eight years old!"

As he sighed in relief, he couldn’t help but shudder when he saw Adam’s smile broaden and his hand raise. And in it... was the communication slip.

"H-How?" He blurrted, his jaw dropping in diesbelief.

"Snatched it." Adam shrugged and raised his palm. "There is a saying I quite enjoyed since I came into this world. In Rome, do as the Romans do."

His palm blurred, the wind roaring in its wake.

"In the cultivation realm, kill anyone who tries to kill you."

BAM

With a sharp noise, the disciple’s cervical collapsed and his head spun three hundred and sixty degrees. Unable to endure the speed and pressure, the muscles tore open as it spun mid-air.

Adam snatched the spatial ring as the corpse tumbled from the sword, leaving a crimson trail in the air.

"Blame your brain for attacking a kid." His face darkened.

He hated nothing more than people who did that. After all, those two clowns could have ignored him and continued on their ways. But no. They had to attack out of nowhere with random excuses. They got what they deserved: a shameful death that crushed all their lifelong efforts.

With an exhale, he calmed down and scrutinised the island in the void.

’I can’t waste more time in pointless battles, or they’ll steal my treasures.’
