I Refused To Be Reincarnated
Chapter 533: The Magus’s Triumph

Chapter 533: The Magus’s Triumph

Meanwhile, the emperor’s facial features tensed, and his teeth sank into their gums under his jaw’s pressure. His fist trembled as he watched his once-powerful slave’s last breath rattle in its throat.

The behemoth was a unique specimen in the world. It even signed a non-aggression pact with Zuberi Nyota and had overlooked a part of the continent for millennia.

He had gone to great lengths in his quest to reclaim its lands, subdue, and enslave it a century ago... All for what? To see it die against that foreigner? That cultivator?

The worst part that made his heart bleed and eyes burn in fury? He lost his arms’ transformation and the ability to use the behemoth’s roar now that it died. After all, he didn’t carry the creature’s beating heart everywhere because of some mental illness. No. He needed it as a medium to channel its powers into his body. But now it was gone!

"Lin Yaaaaao," he spat through gritted teeth, his forehead veins bulging as he turned to the raven hiding its face under its feathers in grief. "stand up and fight before I sacrifice your soul to summon a demon!"

"Do it! Marina and Vivian are already watching this shameful battle! I’m sure they’ll remain arms crossed as a demon descends upon the eastern continent, not to mention the magus."

The raven shrieked in response, its eyes spewing fires like two burning torches at the man as its voice thundered.

"The day you enslaved us, I told you you were a fool, and I’ll repeat it today! Did you really believe all along that we were mere beasts? That we established our territories on different continents randomly? Or that we didn’t actively target human cities because of our good hearts when we could drown the world in flames any time we wanted in the past fifteen thousand years? Finally, did you think we guarded your temple as statues and endured this shame instead of committing suicide by pleasure?!"

Lin Yao halted any movement from his position as he heard the creature’s soul-chilling revelations. Adam heard it, too, from his observation spot while the beast emperor’s face sank at the implications.

Powers he had no idea about had been at play before the magus took control over the world, and he had unknowingly meddled with them.

"Foolish, little emperor. The behemoth happily died, and I’ll fight, not for you, but to join him in the grave. I felt the Frostborn Majesty offing itself a few years ago, leaving only the magma incarnation and the kraken to remain. And guess what? The magus had been digging for fifteen years to reach the first! Hahaha! You’ve been dancing in the palm of his hand like a puppet, and soon, he will excavate its slumbering chamber. Soon, only the kraken will remain, and the seal will shatter. Soon, you will regret playing with your land’s guardian beasts and return the world to how it was in the antique era!"

The raven unfurled its wing, its mocking laughter echoing through the chaotic battlefield as its heart steeled.

Mighty gales rose under its flaps as it rocketed to Lin Yao in an obsidian blur, its voice resounding an ominous verdict.

"I hereby deliver my judgement after fifteen thousand years. Humanity betrayed its sacred engagements and is thinking about summoning demons once more. According to Kumari Kandam’s treaty, I request the other guardians to shatter their keys this instant and show the magus how foolish he is to wish to break free from his haven."

Its voice hung heavy in the air, the revelation sending tremors jolting through the three archmages’ frames as the magus roared in laughter under Rose.

"Bring it on! These bastards or the demons stole my world core. No matter who it is, I’ll obliterate them and recover what’s mine! A prophesied war and summoned warriors? Fools! I’m the master of this place. Your decisions, desires, and ambitions are irrelevant. My words are law."

His soul-chilling voice reached every corner of the world, forcing a cruel realisation into every ruler’s mind. Yet, it struck the archmages and arcanists with twice the power, knocking the air out of their lungs and making breathing difficult.

’He’s the one who’ll start the horrible war Elisabeth prophesied! That’s why she failed to glimpse at the culprit. No... Something’s off.’

Line Yao’s eyes narrowed into slits as his mind raced, and his sword split the air into halves to meet the raven’s open beak.

"I recognise your value, Lin Yao. You’re an upright ruler, and the prospect of dying by your hand is the last consolation I can hope for, so don’t hesitate!"

Peering into the raven’s determined eyes, his face contorted into a conflicted grimace.

He had nothing against the beasts and killed the behemoth to defeat the emperor faster. But now? He regretted it.

’Did my battle to survive set a forbidden door’s locks open? Are billions of people going to die because of me?’

His heart sank at the thought. Yet the raven didn’t give him a choice. He had to kill it or suffer in a three-against-one battle with little to no Qi after Ossian’s return.

Teeth gritted, he channelled his Qi and pierced the fiercely pecking raven even if he knew it didn’t pay any attention to defense.

Its hulking figure collapsed before him, a strange sense of joy flashing in its eyes as he grumbled.

"May you rest in peace."

"I will find peace. But you? Hahaha. No matter who wins this battle, beasts and humanoid creatures from the past will soon upturn your kingdoms. You’re not ready for what’s to come. Still, I sincerely hope you’ll kill that bastard Beast Emperor who dared to summon a Demon Prince two years ago. He even almost retrieved that horrible cleaver that split our world into halves!"

"The cleaver! What will happen if someone retrieves it?!"

He gasped, the air becoming sticky and sticking in his throat as he remembered Adam had it!

"Then resetting the world to its original form may have been a blessing in disguise. Its wielder has to die. Nyxara can’t return!"

With this last ominous omen, the raven, the overlord of the eastern continent, who had overlooked the lands for fifteen thousand years, breathed its last.

Fortunately, the raven’s dying whispers didn’t reach Adam or he would have fainted in horror...
