Chapter 632: Chapter 628 Mantis Trapped
The expected screams did not occur.
No one emerged from the storage lockers either.
Four pulled out a short sword and slashed at Two.
Two tilted his head to look at the storage lockers, his red eyes flaring as he scanned the row of lockers.
Three seconds later!
Two withdrew his gaze, concealing the red glow in his eyes.
He looked at Four and said, "Not here."
"Chase!"
Four immediately dashed toward the shattered window.
Standing at the window, he peered outside.
Four happened to see a woman clinging to the window ledge, climbing down toward the lower-level hospital room.
"There she is!"
"She’s heading for the lower hospital room!"
Four shouted loudly and jumped out of the hospital room, plunging his short sword into the wall as he slid toward the seventh floor.
Two stayed inside the hospital room without moving.
He had a lingering feeling that something was off.
His eyes glowed red again, scanning the room thoroughly, even inspecting the ceiling of the bathroom.
Yet after an exhaustive sweep, he still found nothing—except when he glanced at the floor, he noticed Four already engaged in combat in the room below.
It was a woman, and Two’s built-in program contained her information.
This woman was named Mantis, a top-tier fighter.
But she could exert combat power equivalent to Half-step Super.
Two still felt something was not right.
However, Four didn’t seem to be Mantis’s match, at least not for the moment.
Mantis leveraged her solid martial arts knowledge and ever-changing movement techniques. Despite being only top-tier, she managed to toy with the Half-step Super Four like a helpless dog.
If Mantis’s abilities weren’t as regulation-breaking as Hei Ta’s.
Four would have already been defeated in seconds, with the fight concluded.
Seeing this, Two, while still doubtful, decided to head downstairs and join the battle.
After all, as long as they captured Mantis, the target wouldn’t get away.
Mantis deftly dodged Four’s short sword, her move "Immortal Points the Way" striking straight toward Four’s brow.
Four scrambled to dodge, simultaneously swinging his sword in retaliation.
But he was still grazed by Mantis’s blade, leaving a wound on his cheek.
Exposing the metal skin beneath the human veneer.
"So it is indeed a Bionic Robot."
Seeing this, Mantis silently confirmed her suspicion.
In fact, from the moment she saw the alloy longsword, she had her suspicions.
Mantis switched her sword techniques again, launching another assault toward Four.
She frequently changed sword techniques and shifted her attack patterns, aiming to prevent Four from copying and mimicking her moves.
Bionic Robots need time to copy martial arts.
One martial art has countless variations—even for Bionic Robots, it’s impossible to master all of them in mere moments.
Mantis exploited this "bug," ensuring that as long as the Bionic Robot couldn’t fully learn her techniques, it wouldn’t be able to truly master them.
Let alone predict her attack trajectory.
Mantis even deliberately laid traps for Four.
If Four used incomplete martial arts to counter her, Mantis could seize the opportunity to execute a counterattack for a kill.
However, Four was clearly not an ordinary Bionic Robot.
He was a Half-step Super Bionic Robot.
A new generation of Bionic Robots.
In terms of intelligence, he far surpassed the batch Mantis had encountered at the pawnshop headquarters.
After dozens of exchanges, Mantis could tell that Four was different.
Mantis was secretly astonished by the rapid evolution of Bionic Robots.
At this rate, it wouldn’t take long for Bionic Robots to completely replace most Human Martial Artists, becoming the backbone of the Jianghu factions.
When that time comes, if someone could control these Bionic Robots.
Achieving the centuries-long dream of unifying the Jianghu wouldn’t be difficult.
Even if unification couldn’t be achieved, it would bring catastrophic consequences to the entire Jianghu.
The aftermath would be unimaginable.
Mantis felt it necessary to warn Fang Xiaocao.
She had to take the existence of Bionic Robots seriously.
It would be best if Tom could figure out a way to create some Bionic Robots of their own.
Or find a means to control these Bionic Robots.
Bang—
Just as Mantis regarded the presence of Bionic Robots as urgent and menacing.
The hospital room door was suddenly smashed by an immense force, sending fragments shooting toward Mantis like Hidden Weapons.
Mantis was startled, sensing danger in her heart.
Quickly dodging, she simultaneously whirled her alloy longsword to deflect the incoming shards from the room.
Yet despite her efforts, Mantis was still injured by the fragments.
Three bloody wounds marked her body.
Mantis gritted her teeth, retreating while keeping her distance from Four, her gaze warily fixed on the hospital room’s exterior.
Outside the room, Two’s figure appeared, his red-glowing eyes staring unblinkingly at Mantis.
Seeing Two’s glowing eyes, Mantis immediately knew—this was also a Bionic Robot.
Mantis was shocked to discover that there was yet another Bionic Robot.
And judging by appearances, it seemed even more formidable than the previous one.
Facing both Two and Four, Mantis had no confidence at all.
She wanted to find an opportunity to retreat, but Two blocked the doorway, and Four guarded the window.
She had no chance to escape.
Fighting head-on—
Mantis admitted to herself that, given Four’s displayed strength, she had no hope of surviving today.
Perhaps she could kill one before dying, but that would be her utmost limit.
Two didn’t immediately attack Mantis but stared at her with glowing red eyes, scanning the hospital room back and forth.
He wanted to locate the target that had yet to appear.
His internal AI told him: "When something unusual happens, there is always a reason."
A living person couldn’t possibly vanish into thin air.
His intelligence was sourced from his intrusion into the hospital’s surveillance system.
The target he sought was still on the eighth floor.
The hospital’s surveillance footage couldn’t lie.
At least before his arrival on the eighth floor, the target had never left the room.
Now, however, the target had disappeared. Two believed something was amiss.
He was convinced Mantis had hidden her away.
Two swept the room rapidly with his gaze.
He scrutinized every corner without overlooking any detail.
But the hospital room contained no trace of the target.
"Where did you hide her?"
Two asked coldly.
Mantis froze for a moment before instantly realizing Two was referring to the girl.
"Do you think I’d tell you?"
Mantis sneered mockingly.
Simultaneously, Mantis didn’t give Two a chance to press further.
She immediately swung her longsword, thrusting it straight at Two.
Two stared icily at Mantis, reaching toward the back of his neck.
Clang—
To Mantis’s astonishment, Two drew a spear from his spine.
Two spun the spear, and with a twist of the spearhead, he effortlessly deflected Mantis’s attacking blade.
With another flick of the spearhead, the shaft struck toward Mantis’s waist.
Mantis was appalled; she knew Two was strong.
But she hadn’t expected Two to be this powerful.
Mantis immediately dodged, while simultaneously using her sword to block the short sword attack coming from Four behind her.
Two immediately lunged again with the spear in his hand, delivering a series of swift, dragon-like thrusts toward Mantis.
Mantis, no matter how agile her movement techniques were, couldn’t evade such relentless attacks under simultaneous pressure from both sides.
Before long, Mantis’s shoulder and thigh were pierced by two spear strikes.
Her back was also slashed by Four, leaving a deep wound—
