Chapter 581: Chapter 577 Tom’s Explosive Art
Seeing that Unhappy had put on his sunglasses, Tom glanced at the eight Store Managers still lying in ambush nearby. His lips curled into a cold smile on his handsome face.Tom reached into his pocket and pulled out a few Sprite Ball Bombs, placing them in front of himself.
"It’s going to be loud. Cover your ears."
Tom thoughtfully reminded Unhappy.
Unhappy understood.
He covered his ears and looked at Tom expectantly.
Unhappy knew exactly what Tom intended to do.
Those weapons, devastating and akin to divine thunder.
Unhappy desperately wanted to play with one.
But Tom wouldn’t let him, so Unhappy could only watch Tom use them and enjoy the spectacle from a distance.
Seeing that Unhappy was ready, Tom fixed his gaze on the eight people in the pawnshop, his eyes gradually turning icy.
"Flash, Shock Bombs for disabling, Fragment Bombs, High Explosives for the main assault, Incendiary Grenades as the finisher."
Tom muttered to himself while fiddling with the Sprite Ball Bombs.
With this combination thrown out, forget people—even an elephant wouldn’t stand a chance.
It’d directly die before Tom’s eyes.
Tom picked up two Sprite Balls, one engraved with the word "Flash" and the other with "Shock."
With both hands, he forcefully activated the two Sprite Balls, counted silently to three, and then hurled them toward the eight Store Managers.
"Something’s up!"
"Sprite Balls?"
"That’s Tom, Fang Xiaocao’s companion!"
"Bombs! Move!"
The Sprite Ball Bombs had barely left Tom’s hands.
And the Store Managers had already noticed.
But by then, it was too late.
Tom had anticipated this; seeing the Sprite Ball Bombs would inevitably expose his identity.
So he had deliberately timed it, opting for Instant Explosion.
Before the eight Store Managers could finish their sentences, the two Sprite Ball Bombs detonated instantly.
A dazzling white light, accompanied by the effects of the Shock Bomb, raged around the eight Store Managers.
"Ah—"
Some Store Managers instinctively cried out in pain.
Hearing their screams, Tom’s lips curled into a small, smug smile.
Without hesitation, Tom grabbed two more Sprite Ball Bombs.
This time, the Sprite Balls were engraved with the words "Fragment" and "Explosive."
These two Sprite Ball Bombs represented Fragment Bombs and High Explosive Bombs, respectively.
Tom forcefully activated the bombs, counted silently to three seconds.
He timed another Instant Explosion.
And then hurled the two Sprite Balls outward.
The next second!
"Boom—"
The sound of explosions echoed throughout the forest.
"Ah—"
The eight Store Managers erupted into piercing screams.
This set of screams was far more anguished than before, accompanied by incessant wails.
"My leg..."
"Ah..."
"My stomach has a hole in it..."
Listening to these cries, Tom immediately grabbed the last Incendiary Grenade.
Holding the Incendiary Grenade, Tom hesitated.
He scanned the lush green forest surroundings.
Tom decided not to activate the Incendiary Grenade.
This grenade was custom-made.
Once activated, the resulting blaze would be unstoppable.
If the fire spread, this forest might take years to recover.
So Tom hesitated.
Setting fire to a mountain is tantamount to committing a sin.
"Sigh..."
Tom let out a sigh.
He put the Incendiary Grenade away.
"Forget it, I’ll switch to another one."
Tom muttered under his breath.
He pulled out two more Sprite Ball Bombs.
This time, both were High Explosive Bombs.
Without further hesitation, Tom activated the bombs, counted silently to three, and immediately hurled them after timing an Instant Explosion.
"Boom—Boom—"
The sound of two deafening explosions reverberated.
Tom clapped Unhappy on the shoulder.
"Unhappy, let’s go!"
Before finishing his sentence, Tom drew two daggers and dashed toward the explosion site.
Although these bombs were powerful, they didn’t necessarily kill everyone.
But there was a high likelihood of severe injuries.
Tom’s job was to claim the remaining lives.
To finish off those who were crippled, those barely alive, and those who luckily escaped the bombs.
Unhappy crawled low to the ground and followed quickly behind Tom, advancing toward the site.
Tom and Unhappy plunged into the smoky chaos, greeted by severed limbs and half-dead bodies.
Without hesitation, Tom swung his daggers.
Taking out the pitiful survivors.
Tom and Unhappy searched the area.
Tom’s keen instincts told him the number of bodies and severed limbs wasn’t right.
He’d missed once again.
Of the eight Store Managers, someone had survived.
Someone hadn’t been hit by the bombs.
The City God had left a shadow on Tom’s mind.
Gripping his daggers tightly, Tom cautiously searched.
Hunting for the one who slipped through.
The next second!
A strong gust of wind rushed toward him.
Tom’s heart skipped a beat; he was about to dodge.
But then he saw Unhappy already lunging forward.
Seeing Unhappy, Tom relaxed.
With Unhappy taking action, there was no need for him to intervene.
Sounds of combat broke out behind him.
Tom turned and saw Unhappy facing off alone against two Store Managers.
One Store Manager was missing an arm, with half his body bathed in blood.
Clearly, it had been severed earlier in the explosion.
The other Store Manager had several bloody holes in his body, though none in vital areas.
Although bleeding profusely, his combat power seemed unaffected.
Tom knew these wounds were caused by shrapnel from the Fragment Bomb.
Tom tightened his grip on his daggers and immediately charged forward, fighting alongside Unhappy.
With Tom easing the pressure, Unhappy fully unleashed himself, targeting the one-armed Store Manager first. Unhappy knew how to pick the weaker opponent.
Tom quickly closed the distance, his pair of daggers slicing relentlessly to hold off the other Store Manager.
Unhappy ducked to evade the one-armed Store Manager’s high whip kick, seizing the chance to grab his remaining leg. Veins bulged along Unhappy’s arms as he exerted immense force.
The one-armed Store Manager lost his balance and toppled backward onto the ground.
Unhappy lunged forward, pinning the one-armed Store Manager under him. His hands pressed down forcefully, preventing the man from getting up, and then he bit down.
"Squelch—"
Unhappy bit into the one-armed Store Manager’s neck, blood immediately gushing out like a fountain.
"Gah—"
The one-armed Store Manager made guttural noises.
But no words escaped his lips.
As the light in his eyes faded, his body stopped thrashing and weakened entirely.
Unhappy got up and wiped his mouth.
With a "Puh," he spat out the flesh in his mouth.
His beast-like, vicious eyes turned toward the Store Manager entangled with Tom.
That Store Manager also noticed his comrade being instantly killed by Unhappy.
Fear washed over his face.
His movements slowed.
Tom seized the opportunity and thrust his dagger forward.
The Store Manager reacted but was too late.
Although he avoided being struck in vital areas.
He was still stabbed twice by Tom.
The Store Manager staggered backward, his steps faltering.
A glint of cold light flashed in Unhappy’s eyes.
"Whoosh—"
Unhappy lunged toward the Store Manager.
Knocking the unsteady Store Manager to the ground.
Being tackled by Unhappy essentially meant death.
This Store Manager was no exception.
As Unhappy lowered his head and affectionately sank his teeth into the Store Manager’s neck, the Store Manager’s eyes instantly lost their light—
