Chapter 495: Chapter 491: An Encounter at Sea
The sea breeze blew gently, rippling across the ocean’s surface.
A large ship drifted with the waves on the sea.
Fang Xiaocao stood on the deck, holding a sea fishing rod, experiencing her first-ever sea fishing.
This was already the third day at sea for Fang Xiaocao and her group, and they were about three days away from the island coordinates to meet Vermilion Bird and the others, according to Tom’s estimation.
With rare leisure time, Fang Xiaocao naturally chose to seize the moment and experience life.
After all, she had been curious about fishing for a long time but hadn’t had the chance to try it.
"Got a fish!"
Feeling the tug, Fang Xiaocao exclaimed with excitement and began reeling in quickly.
This was the first fish she caught.
Fang Xiaocao was as happy as a child.
Beside her, Tom and Taotie gathered, lovingly watching Fang Xiaocao.
Both Tom and Taotie knew that their Princess Your Highness had been bearing too much for a long time.
It was time for her to relax a bit.
After over ten minutes of extreme tugging,
a flustered Fang Xiaocao finally pulled her first fish onto the boat.
It was a palm-sized mackerel.
A very common edible sea fish.
Fang Xiaocao was delighted, removing the hook.
She lovingly placed the mackerel into the fish box.
"Catch a few more, and we’ll have fish for dinner today."
Fang Xiaocao eagerly cast the hook back into the sea.
Muttering to herself.
Clearly, having caught a fish,
gave the newbie Fang Xiaocao a huge boost of confidence.
She even started dreaming of eating the fish.
Accurately speaking, dreaming of a whole fish feast she caught herself.
Time passed second by second.
Half an hour later!
Fang Xiaocao finally caught another mackerel.
Although it was slightly bigger than the first,
it was still far from the number needed for her dream whole fish feast.
Beep beep beep—
At this moment, a notification sound came from Tom’s terminal. He immediately opened it to check the situation, and soon his expression changed slightly, looking serious.
"Old Tom, what’s wrong?"
Noticing Tom’s unusual reaction, Taotie asked curiously.
"There is a slight complication."
Tom said in a deep voice.
"What’s up, just tell me."
Taotie urged eagerly.
"It can’t be that we’ve just entered the high seas and encountered pirates, right?"
Taotie’s eyes sparkled as he asked.
For the past three days on the ship, Taotie was so bored he wanted to dive into the sea to fight sharks.
Now, the thought of having pirates to play with made Taotie so excited he rubbed his hands like a fly.
"It’s a bit more troublesome than pirates."
Tom shook his head helplessly.
"Then what is it?"
"You’re killing me with suspense!"
Hearing it was even more troublesome than pirates, Taotie was not scared but even more excited.
"Phil Monkey’s fleas seem to have escaped from our side."
"I guess they went to cause trouble and got beaten back, but now in the high seas, their run-in with us might cause us some trouble."
"Whether to avoid them or..."
"We have to wait for Princess Your Highness to decide."
Tom handed the terminal to Taotie while recounting the situation.
"I’ll report to Princess Your Highness."
Seeing Taotie jumping with excitement, Tom walked directly to Fang Xiaocao: "Princess Your Highness, there’s a situation."
Fang Xiaocao was taken aback and looked at Tom in confusion: "What happened?"
"We’ll encounter a Phil Monkey’s boat, and they are armed. Should we avoid them, or start..."
At this point, Tom raised his hand and made a throat-slitting gesture, looking at Fang Xiaocao with inquiry.
Fang Xiaocao chuckled coldly.
"Phil Monkeys, right."
"It’s said they jump around quite a bit."
A cold light flashed in Fang Xiaocao’s eyes.
"Use high-tech to shield our boat, maintain a safe distance, let Taotie and Unhappy take a small boat quietly over. Make the scene look like an unknown creature attack, do it neatly, and don’t take anything to avoid exposure."
Fang Xiaocao casually deployed her plan while casting her fishing rod again.
Tom nodded: "Understood."
"I’ll have them do it right away."
Fang Xiaocao nodded.
No longer concerning herself with these matters, she continued focusing on fishing, still thinking about her whole fish feast.
"Old Tom, what did Princess Your Highness say?"
When Tom returned, Taotie came up eagerly with a cheeky grin, asking.
Tom glanced at Taotie: "Princess Your Highness said she wants to see these Phil Monkeys killed by an unknown beast, leaving a scene fit for a movie."
Taotie’s eyes lit up: "I’m going!"
Tom nodded: "You and Unhappy quietly take a small boat over. You can’t use any weapons. After the fight, the battlefield must meet Princess Your Highness’s requirements as if done by an unknown beast."
Taotie grinned: "Rest assured, no problem at all."
Tom glanced at Taotie: "It’s because it’s you handling it that I’m worried."
"Go quickly, make sure it’s done well, and don’t leave any troubles for Princess Your Highness."
Taotie didn’t argue, made an OK gesture, and turned to pull Unhappy along.
Three minutes later!
Taotie and Unhappy jumped onto the small boat.
They quickly rowed far away.
Seeing off Taotie and Unhappy, Tom returned to Fang Xiaocao’s side.
"Did Taotie go?"
Fang Xiaocao asked as she unhooked the fish.
"Yes, they went."
Tom answered truthfully.
"Keep enough distance from that boat."
Fang Xiaocao reminded.
"I’ve already instructed the captain."
Tom replied with a smile.
——
An hour later!
Taotie rowing the boat was almost exhausted.
"Unhappy, can’t you take a turn rowing?"
Taotie glared and complained helplessly.
Unhappy glanced at Taotie and coldly spat out two words: "Fool!"
Unhappy’s use of the word "fool" was becoming more fluent and wasn’t stuttering anymore.
Taotie was tempted to hit Unhappy with the oar, but seeing his target was within reach, Taotie chose to endure.
"Don’t get mad, don’t get mad, I’m not mad, getting angry is bad for health, business is more important."
Taotie kept self-hypnotizing.
To stop himself from troubling Unhappy.
Another half an hour passed!
Taotie and Unhappy quietly climbed onto their target.
"Unhappy, kill anyone you see, go for the heart, understand?"
Taotie whispered to Unhappy.
Unhappy nodded: "Fool!"
Leaving behind the word "fool," Unhappy shook off the sea water and pounced toward the ship.
Taotie was almost triggered by Unhappy’s parting remark.
He stayed in place for a while to adjust his breathing, channeling his frustration towards Unhappy into rage against the monkeys.
Unhappy crawled stealthily on the ship, shortly targeting a black monkey in training uniform.
Unhappy squinted, staring fixedly at the black monkey, listening carefully, and ensured no one was around before-
Swish—
Unhappy leaped up.
Instantly pouncing on the black monkey,
biting through the other’s trachea and throat before a scream could escape...
