I Really Am A Villain -
Ch. 341 - Third Fragment of The True God Sword
“Often walking by the river, how could I not prepare for a slip?” the little monk sneered.
“You handle it,” Xu Zimo said, turning to Death God Qin.
Death God Qin gave the little monk a cold stare.
The aura of an Immortal Path cultivator burst out from his body.
An overwhelming force of immortal might spread in all directions.
He grabbed the bars of the cage with both hands and pulled hard. The cage made from Heaven-Bear Earth-Fiend Stone was torn open instantly.
“How can this be? An Immortal!” the little monk exclaimed in fear and tried to run.
Death God Qin slammed down with one palm and suppressed him on the spot, unable to move.
Watching Xu Zimo walk out of the cage, the little monk was completely terrified.
“Should I kill him?” Death God Qin asked calmly.
“No, let him experience what others have,” Xu Zimo shook his head.
He released all the people of Duskblade Sect from the cage and threw the little monk inside.
Death God Qin sealed the exit completely.
“Make sure to live well,” Xu Zimo said with a smile to the little monk.
“Die here in the darkness, alone and forgotten.”
He waved his hand, extinguishing all the lights on the walls, plunging the space into pitch black.
As the stone door slowly shut, the little monk's anguished screams echoed from inside.
Outside the tunnel, Xu Zimo looked at the ragged man.
“My name is Fan Shaoyang,” the man said. “Thank you.”
“That’s not what I want to know,” Xu Zimo replied calmly.
Fan Shaoyang nodded slightly.
He picked up a blade and sliced open one of his arms.
From within his flesh, a fragment was embedded so deeply it seemed part of him.
He pulled it out, blood pouring uncontrollably, staining him red.
Xu Zimo took the fragment and felt its familiar aura.
The True God Sword had five fragments in total. He already had two, and this was the third, part of the sword's guard.
Wiping the blood off, Xu Zimo stored it in his Destiny World along with the others.
After saying farewell to Fan Shaoyang, he and Death God Qin returned to their rooms.
The people of Duskblade Sect had suffered so much trauma, how many could recover was uncertain.
Xu Zimo didn’t dwell on it. He just reflected on the human heart.
He never saw himself as a good person. But at least, he acted openly, with a clear conscience.
…
The night passed without words.
The next day, Xu Zimo was awakened by rumbling sounds and noisy crowds outside.
He opened his eyes and walked to the window.
Looking down, he saw crowds packed along the street.
Above them, a massive warship hovered in the sky.
The warship took up half the sky, looking grand and majestic.
Leaving his room, Xu Zimo saw Death God Qin sitting by the window of the Buddhist lodge, also watching the ship.
“What’s going on?” Xu Zimo asked.
“Seems like people from the Immortal Mortal Sacred Ground have arrived,” Death God Qin replied.
Immortal Mortal Sacred Ground was an imperial lineage from the Middle Continent, led to greatness by the Mortal Emperor.
Xu Zimo had previously met Elder Mortal Cloud of the Immortal Mortal Sacred Ground at the Heaven Ascension Holy Mountain.
“What are they doing here?” Xu Zimo asked with interest, stroking his chin.
In the sky, winds surged and clouds rolled.
The warship released powerful airwaves, roaring across the heavens.
It was completely white and surrounded by celestial mist.
As it slowly descended, the surrounding space shattered from the pressure.
The grand display shook the entire city of Buddha Reverence.
The ship stopped just outside the city, not forcing its way in.
Three figures flew out from the warship, walking on air.
Although Buddha Reverence City was home to both Mahayana and Hinayana Buddhism, it wasn’t without formal authority.
The Buddha Palace governed the city, akin to a city lord’s manor, just with a different title.
The leader of the hall was called the Buddha Lord.
Each generation of Buddha Lord was elected fairly between the two Buddhist branches.
Most importantly, the Buddha Lord only maintained order in the city, not involving themselves in doctrinal disputes.
…
As the three from the warship landed, the Buddha Palace quickly cleared the streets, making space.
A man in golden monk robes and a dark yellow kasaya walked forward.
His skin was dark, his eyes bright and kind.
He had thick earlobes that looked like they might fall off.
His hair was long, tightly curled in coils atop his head, clearly natural curls.
Xu Zimo, watching from the window, saw that the Immortal Mortal Sacred Ground had brought three people: one youth, one woman, and an elder.
The elder appeared to be of the senior generation, likely in the Empyrean Meridian realm.
The man and woman were both in early Imperial Meridian stage.
At their age and cultivation level, they were undoubtedly top-tier talents, the holy sons and daughters of their sect.
It seemed the Buddha Lord of Buddha Reverence City already knew these people.
Xu Zimo couldn’t hear what they were saying, but he saw them walk straight toward the Buddha Palace.
“This mission can’t have any mistakes or unexpected factors,” Death God Qin said calmly.
“Looks like the Immortal Mortal Sacred Ground wants to get involved too,” Xu Zimo smiled.
After breakfast, the two left Buddha Reverence City and headed for Martial Magnificence Mountain.
…
As one of the most famous mountains in the Eastern Continent's core, Martial Magnificence Mountain had a long history.
Though steep and rugged, it was incredibly scenic.
Green mountains, clear waters, and lush forests surrounded them.
Looking up from the base, the mountain was majestic and imposing.
It reminded Xu Zimo of a poem:
What is Mount Tai like? The green world is endless.
Nature gathers divine beauty, yin and yang split light and dark.Clouds rise in the chest, birds return to the eye.We must climb to the summit, to see all other mountains below. At the peak of Martial Magnificence Mountain stood Martial Magnificence Temple.
The temple was even more famous than the mountain itself.
It had thirty-six Grotto-Heavens, and every spring, its doors would open for tourists to visit.
There was no shortcut to the summit. One had to climb the winding steps from the base.
Flying was forbidden, Martial Magnificence Mountain’s only rule.
Xu Zimo and Death God Qin started up the stairs.
Spiritforce burst around them as they raced upward.
Steep slopes surrounded them, and the stone steps were covered in withered leaves.
