I Really Am A Villain -
Ch. 300 - Return To The True Martial Sacred Ground
After leaving Northwest City, Xu Zimo went to Maple Leaf City on purpose.
Little Gui and Yao Shengnan were still living there.
The city, covered with maple trees, was in full bloom even as autumn was descending, and the weather had turned chilly.
Xu Zimo liked autumn. He loved the gentle rain, it reminded him of childhood walks in the drizzle.
Upon arriving, he found Little Gui and Yao Shengnan living peacefully in the courtyard, and Little Gui had fully recovered.
“Senior Brother Zimo,” Little Gui greeted him excitedly. “You’ve been well?”
“Pretty good. But you two must be bored by now,” Xu Zimo said with a smile.
“Yeah, almost bored to death,” Little Gui replied.
Xu Zimo nodded and then turned to Shengnan. “The Heaven-Severing Sacred Ground has been destroyed.”
“Seriously?” Shengnan blinked, surprised, she knew how formidable a sect with two Grand Emperors could be.
Little Gui rolled her eyes at her. “Why would Brother Zimo lie? Heaven-Severing Sacred Ground wasn’t that scary.”
“Oh,” Shengnan nodded obediently, then looked at Xu Zimo. “I’ll teach you the secret of the Tree of Life.”
Xu Zimo smiled. These two had their own playful banter, Little Gui was good at flirting, it seemed, and had won over Shengnan quickly.
Instead of commenting, Xu Zimo pulled out a sword from his ring.
Shengnan gasped when she saw it. “The Heaven-Slayer Sword… a Grand Emperor True Treasure!”
Xu Zimo nodded. Shengnan then explained how to use the Mother Leaf of the Tree of Life.
Early the next morning, the three of them set off from Maple Leaf City toward the True Martial Sacred Ground.
The sect, suspended in floating islands surrounded by immortal mist, seemed eternally unchanged, peaks towering like a thousand towers.
Apart from during Heaven’s Will wars, it was always peaceful here.
Once Xu Zimo returned, he first visited his father at Green Mountain.
Along the way, disciples greeted him as the sect’s Holy Son, nothing had changed about True Martial Sacred Ground.
On Green Mountain, Xu Qingshan, wearing a teal robe with strands of white hair, stood by a brook in the breeze.
“He’s back!” disciples called.
Xu Qingshan smiled and said, “You’ve grown.”
“Dad,” Xu Zimo replied with a grin, “everyone grows up.”
“True,” his father nodded. “But the world outside isn’t like the Sacred Ground. If you face injustice, don’t hold back, the sect is your backing.”
“I heard Sacred Lord Xiao has returned?” Xu Zimo asked.
“Yes, go pay your respects later,” Xu Qingshan said.
“Is he upset with my position as Holy Son?” Xu Zimo teased.
“Not upset, he did bring back a young woman of supreme talent. Probably wants to train her hard,” his father explained.
“That’s fine; I owe little to the sect for getting here,” Xu Zimo shrugged.
“By the way, stay here a while. In a year, your maternal grandfather’s family in the Northern Continent will hold a grand ceremony. You and your mother should represent me.”
“When is it?”
“One year from now, plenty of time.”
Xu Zimo nodded. His grandfather’s family belonged to the distant Northern Continent. He had hesitated before but had promised the Sword Immortal Jiang Yun to pass on his inheritance to the Jiang Clan, it would be on his way.
After chatting more with his father, Xu Zimo returned to his own South Goose Mountain.
It had been a while, his maids had cleaned it spotless and prepared hot water for him. Xu Zimo took a long hot bath served by them.
Afterward, Lin Ruhu rushed in. He had grown stronger and more rugged, with a powerful, coordinated aura, evidence that Third Grand Elder had trained him well in the Strength Scripture and Celestial Tiger Tyrant Physique.
“Brother Zimo,” Lin Ruhu smiled shyly.
“Been well?” Xu Zimo asked.
“Yes. Grandfather took me to the Tiger Race and passed on their legacy,” Ruhu explained.
Xu Zimo smiled, glad to hear it, Third Grand Elder had spared no effort.
“My grandfather said my aptitude is good enough to compete for the Heaven’s Will,” Ruhu added.
“What do you think?” Xu Zimo inquired.
“I just want to stay by your side and remove any obstacles for you,” Ruhu replied earnestly.
“Looks like Third Grand Elder’s provided me a wedding gift,” Xu Zimo laughed.
They chatted before Xu Zimo prepared to enter seclusion, Ruhu would guard the door.
Back in his room, Xu Zimo took out the Mother Leaf of the Tree of Life.
He treated it with utmost care, it was crucial not only for the Tree of Life but for enriching his True Fate World.
The Tree of Life’s legend was old beyond time, originating with Solar-Illumination and Nether-Glow, born before history began.
If Solar-Illumination and Nether-Glow were the source of animals and humanity, then the Tree of Life was the origin of all plants.
In primordial times, when the world was empty, it created life: plants, trees both humble and colossal, Pine, Birch, the Seven-Star Sky-Light Tree, Desolate Dao Tree, Bodhi Flower, Baleful Godwood. These primordial spirit trees and herbs all descended from the Tree of Life.
With it, all plant life emerged.
Holding the Mother Leaf, Xu Zimo felt spiritforce flow through him as he prepared to nurture both the leaf and his world.
