I Really Am A Villain
Ch. 293 - Obtaining The Hexa-Genesis Immortal Formation

After running several laps around the courtyard, Mo Chen was completely exhausted and drenched in sweat.

He put down the massive stone he had been carrying on his back, with a loud boom, it left a dent in the ground where it landed.

Wearing only a black tank top, his muscular frame stood out sharply.

With a short buzz cut, he looked full of energy.

After drinking a few gulps of water, Mo Chen sat cross-legged under the large tree in the courtyard.

Spiritforce swirled around him. Although his cultivation was only at the True Meridian Realm, his foundation was solid and his energy dense.

At that moment, he looked around carefully. Once he confirmed no one was nearby, he cautiously pulled out an ancient piece of sheepskin parchment from his waist.

After staring at the parchment for a while, he finally took a deep breath.

He put it away, and then began forming formation seals.

There were a total of twenty seals. Once he finished forming them, Mo Chen carefully guided them.

Unlike ordinary formation masters who merged their seals into the surrounding air, he directed all the seals toward the index finger of his right hand.

When all the seals merged into his finger, a flickering flame appeared.

His index finger turned red, as if it had been scorched by fire.

This formation was the Level Three Explosive Flame Formation.

Mo Chen’s goal was to engrave this formation into his right index finger.

It was a crazy thing to do.

Few in history had dared to engrave formations onto their own bodies.

But Mo Chen’s plan was even crazier.

He intended to cover his entire body with formations, engraving them into every bone, every inch of skin.

And his index finger was just the first step.

Once the Explosive Flame Formation merged with his finger, it began to corrode the flesh, bones, and muscles constantly.

The pain was unimaginable.

Even though he had mentally prepared for it, when it struck, Mo Chen felt as if his soul was being torn apart.

He gripped the tree beside him tightly, clenched his teeth, and veins bulged from his forehead.

Sweat poured down his entire body as he fought to remain silent and avoid fainting.

And this was just one finger.

It was hard to imagine what the pain would be like once he began engraving formations onto other parts of his body.

……

No one knew how much time had passed, but the sky gradually began to brighten.

Finally, the pain began to subside.

Once the engraving was complete, Mo Chen slowly extended his right hand.

He pointed into the air, and with a loud boom, the Explosive Flame Formation activated on its own, absorbing the surrounding spiritual energy.

Countless sparks shot from his index finger and exploded in the air.

The overwhelming heat nearly incinerated the air itself.

Clap, clap, clap!

Suddenly, applause echoed from the entrance of the courtyard.

Startled, Mo Chen quickly pulled back his hand and looked toward the gate.

Xu Zimo, dressed in a purple robe, was walking in slowly.

"Who are you?" Mo Chen asked warily.

"No need to be nervous. Actually, you should be thanking me," Xu Zimo said with a smile.

"Why?"

"Back during the tournament in Myriad Formation City, I was the one who stirred up the crowd to help you escape from the people of the Blood Nether Sacred Ground. And I also recommended you to Mo Xinyi," Xu Zimo smiled.

The fact that Mo Chen now lived in a private courtyard within the Mo Imperial Clan showed that the recommendation had worked.

The Mo Imperial Clan clearly valued him.

Otherwise, as an outsider who had just taken on their surname, what right would he have to be treated this well?

……

"Thank you," Mo Chen said softly after a brief silence upon hearing Xu Zimo's words.

Everyone needs a reason to keep going.

For him, that reason was revenge.

His parents had been framed and killed, his sister murdered right before his eyes.

For revenge, even if it meant engraving formations all over his body and enduring inhuman pain constantly, he would not hesitate.

"Don’t thank me just yet. What I’m about to say might make you angry," Xu Zimo said with a smile.

Mo Chen looked up, confused.

"The Hexa-Genesis Immortal Formation is on you, isn’t it?"

Mo Chen’s expression changed drastically upon hearing this.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about," he said cautiously, stepping back slightly.

"Don’t deny it. You know exactly what the Hexa-Genesis Immortal Formation means," Xu Zimo said. "It’s a Mo Imperial Clan legacy formation. Only the Patriarch and core elders are allowed to cultivate it. Anyone else who learns it in secret will be hunted down by the entire Mo Imperial Clan."

"I don’t understand what you’re implying," Mo Chen replied coldly.

"Drop the act," Xu Zimo said. "I believe you engraved the Hexa-Genesis Immortal Formation onto your body. Should I call the Mo Imperial Clan over to inspect you?"

Xu Zimo didn’t know how Mo Chen had gotten access to the Hexa-Genesis Immortal Formation.

The Mo Imperial Clan guarded it tightly; outsiders were never allowed to see it.

But he did know that the very first formation Mo Chen engraved into his body was the Hexa-Genesis Immortal Formation.

He used it as the core, with other formations as support, engraving his entire body.

……

Mo Chen’s expression kept changing as he stood in silence.

When he first arrived at the Mo Imperial Clan, he had once been assigned to clean the ancestral shrine of the Formation Emperor.

There, behind the statue, he had accidentally found a piece of parchment.

It had been left behind by the Formation Emperor himself.

On it were theoretical notes about engraving formations onto the human body.

But the technique was too dangerous, and the Formation Emperor hadn’t dared to use it, so he sealed it away.

No one in the Mo Imperial Clan even knew it existed.

When Mo Chen discovered it, he didn’t hesitate, he decided to cultivate it.

He was driven by deep hatred. He had no talent, no power behind him.

All he had was a burning desire to grow stronger.

He had been cultivating in secret all along and had no idea how Xu Zimo had discovered his secret.

……

"What do you want?" Mo Chen asked coldly.

"The Hexa-Genesis Immortal Formation."

"I knew it," Mo Chen muttered, hesitating slightly.

"Let me see the Hexa-Genesis Immortal Formation, and we’ll be even," Xu Zimo said. "I’ll be leaving soon. You can continue planning your revenge. I won’t tell anyone about this."

Mo Chen fell silent for a while, then reluctantly nodded.

"I hope you keep your word," he said, handing the parchment from his waist to Xu Zimo.

Xu Zimo took it, quickly read and memorized its contents, and handed it back.

"Maybe one day, your name really will echo across the Primordial Heartlands," Xu Zimo said with a smile, then turned and left the courtyard.

Back in his room, he immediately announced his closed-door cultivation.
