I Really Am A Villain -
Ch. 237 - Re-entering the River of Fate
📢 New Novel Launch!
Xu Zimo planned to use these drops of ancient divine beast blood to revive the Nine God Beasts of the Desolate Era.
Because the life force used to nurture them was from the God World, once revived, there would be no risk of connection to the Primordial Heartlands.
Of course, a world’s life force is limited. It can’t be used endlessly to bring things back to life.
Xu Zimo’s main goal was still to find Solar-Illumination, and through its union with Nether-Glow, discover how to reproduce life.
The revival process would take time. While the nine God Beasts were gestating, Xu Zimo waved his hand again.
A tree descended from the sky, accompanied by a thunderous dragon’s roar.
It was the Dragon Tree he had brought from Nether Dragon Ravine.
Currently, the dozens of dragon fruits on the tree had stopped maturing due to being uprooted.
Now that Xu Zimo replanted it in the God World, it would gradually adapt to his planet’s rules and eventually bear new Dragon Gods.
These would become the first generation of life native to the God World.
…
Once everything was in place, Xu Zimo summoned the Power of Creation. The Primordial Chaos Bead floated before him, piercing layers of space as he returned once more to the River of Fate.
This crystalline river flowed in reverse across the Milky Way, quietly winding across the Infinite Void.
Relying on the power of the Primordial Chaos Bead, Xu Zimo dove into the River of Fate. He was heading toward the era when the Time Emperor bore the Heaven's Will.
His goal: to trace the Greensky Tribe, the Elden Lands, and the origins of the Ancient Remnant Curse.
The river flowed gently. Xu Zimo moved with extreme caution. Even with the Primordial Chaos Bead, he didn’t dare act recklessly.
The River of Fate recorded eras, not individual years. Time here was measured only in major and minor epochs.
Gradually, his figure vanished into the long river…
…
After a very long time, ripples formed across the River of Fate.
The calm current stirred, and Xu Zimo reappeared in midair.
“The Time Emperor… was truly a man of deep affection,” Xu Zimo murmured, then disappeared again.
When he returned to the real world, half a month had passed.
The sky was just turning dark. He walked out of his secluded chamber and immediately went to meet the God Emperor.
“You’re leaving?” the God Emperor asked, surprised.
“Yes. I’m leaving now,” Xu Zimo nodded.
“But even with the protection of the Heaven Demon, you can’t safely escape this cursed land,” the God Emperor warned. “You’ll still be in danger.”
“I want to see the curse firsthand. I have a theory to verify,” Xu Zimo replied.
“You’ve made up your mind?” the God Emperor asked.
Knowing he couldn’t stop Xu Zimo, he personally escorted him to the surface via the teleportation array.
The Elden Lands were now completely covered in the looping reenactment.
Xu Zimo said farewell and walked toward the heart of the cursed zone.
Strange spatial fluctuations rippled ahead. Threads of temporal energy filled the air.
The time-space laws here were completely distorted.
When Xu Zimo made contact with the rules, his figure vanished.
…
He felt a massive shock all around him, and his body began undergoing impossible transformations.
For a moment, time reversed, he reverted to an infant.
In another, he aged into a white-haired elder, experiencing birth, sickness, aging, and death in an instant.
After a prolonged state of these transformations, he saw countless points of light appear in the void.
He grabbed one and sensed it, but shook his head.
“Not this one.”
He continued drifting through the points of light until finally, one made his eyes light up.
Spiritforce surged as he was pulled into that glowing thread.
…
A desolate plain stretched endlessly, under a scorching sun.
Xu Zimo slowly opened his eyes, scanning the surroundings.
He was on a rough dirt path, weeds growing all around.
The spiritforce here was rich and dense.
“This should be the place,” he murmured.
At the moment, he could no longer sense Paimon or Chaos.
Finding a spot to rest beside the road, he waited quietly.
“They should be arriving soon…”
Not long after, the skies began to change.
Spiritforce became chaotic, and waves of space fluctuations filled the air.
Suddenly, a shout pierced the heavens as a young boy fell out of the sky, not far from Xu Zimo.
Xu Zimo rushed over and began channeling spiritforce to heal the unconscious youth.
As the boy stirred awake, Xu Zimo quickly lay down beside him.
…
The white-robed boy opened his eyes, confused.
“Damn time-space turbulence... Did something go wrong?” he muttered. “Shouldn’t have messed around like that…”
He looked around and noticed Xu Zimo lying nearby.
Checking for breath, he sighed in relief.
“Hey, brother, wake up. Are you alright?”
Xu Zimo opened his eyes drowsily and looked around. “Where… Where am I? Who are you?”
“You don’t know?” the boy asked curiously. “Where are you from?”
“I’m from the Western Region,” Xu Zimo replied. “I was training in the Eastern Continent when a space turbulence suddenly pulled me in. Next thing I knew, I was here. And you are?”
“My name’s Tianshi,” the white-robed boy said. “I’m from the Eastern Continent too.”
He frowned, wondering if he’d dragged someone else into this with his antics.
“Oh, I’m Xu Zimo.”
“Let’s figure out where we are first,” Tianshi suggested. “Hopefully it’s not too far from the East.”
Xu Zimo nodded, climbed up a nearby slope, and looked toward the horizon.
In the distance, a silhouette of buildings emerged on the vast plain.
Though still blurry, it was their only option.
“Let’s check it out. Nothing else around here,” Xu Zimo said.
Tianshi agreed, and the two headed off together.
…
“This place is way too barren. No idea where the turbulence dropped me,” Tianshi grumbled.
Eventually, they arrived.
It was a well-built, small town, modest but organized.
