Chapter 80: Chapter 80 - A New King?

A day had passed since then, and some things had changed around the Elven Kingdom.

The first thing that happened as soon as Lucius was done with Alicia and Anna was that he ordered the king to organize an assembly with all the nobles present, as there were many important elements to go over.

Once all of the nobles were gathered, the ceremony began as Lucius stood behind the king with a smile, telling him everything that he was supposed to announce using the power of his skill, [Aura]. He did this to complete the humiliation and ensure that nothing would ever happen once he was gone.

"Hello, everyone. I have called you here to announce something very important."

Every single noble frowned for a moment. However, most of them had a small idea of what the king would announce. After all, a man had come here two days ago asking for his daughter’s hand. He was probably on the verge of announcing their marriage.

At least, that’s what most of them thought. The look on their faces quickly changed when the words coming out of the king’s mouth were completely different.

"I am here to announce that I will be stepping down from my role as the king of the Elven Kingdom." He took a small step aside, revealing Lucius to the public. "Lucius will be the one taking over the role of king as I was deemed inferior to him. Additionally, both my wife and daughter are now free to choose if they want to stay with him or leave the kingdom with me."

The king’s jaw clenched as he said those words against his will.

He looked at his wife, Anna, and his daughter, Alicia, as small tears began to form in the corners of his eyes.

He could still remember everything that had happened yesterday. The two of them getting intimate right before his face, receiving facials from Lucius without any hesitation. It was very hard for him to get those images out of his mind, and the thing he hated the most was the fact that he had gotten a little excited when he watched them with another man...

’I-I really am a cuck...’

Alicia and Anna took a step forward on Lucius’s side as they coughed slightly before making their announcement.

Anna was the first one to speak, a big smirk on her face as she couldn’t help but eye Lucius as she was about to make her speech.

"I have decided to divorce the king of the Elven Territory, and I will be marrying the new king."

Every single noble could hardly believe what was happening before their eyes. Never in a million years could they have anticipated that their king was stepping down and letting a human take over. Most elves started to think that Lucius had played with all of their minds in the short moment they had spent together.

"Is he threatening you, my king?" a few of them asked at the same time, unable to believe that this was truly his will.

However, he shook his head.

"I’m not. I have realized that I am an inferior being compared to Lucius. He is the best choice to guide all of you toward greatness. I have no doubt about it. My wife, Anna, also realized his greatness and has decided to leave me for him, something that I completely understand."

Murmurs began to spread within the crowd. Everyone still believed that something had happened for this to occur. There had to be something; there was no way that the cold king was now praising a human openly with a smile on his face. There was definitely something wrong happening here. However, they had no way to prove it, and all of the nobles present had already seen Lucius’s might. They all knew that they had no chance against him.

The crowd began panicking even further as Lucius took a step forward onto the stage, grabbing both Anna and Alicia with his arms, holding them by their waists as he did so, showing everyone that they had no problem with being touched by him.

In fact, when they noticed the look of love in the eyes of the two women, the nobles began to believe that maybe... Anna and Alicia had truly abandoned the king for Lucius. Still, it was a hard pill to swallow, and Lucius knew that there would be many people who would protest against him, which is why he decided to make an announcement.

"If anyone wants to take over the crown, all you have to do is very simple. You have to beat me in a duel. If you do so, then you will become the new king of this kingdom."

Lucius smirked as he looked into the eyes of all the nobles who had probably never held a sword in their lives.

"Is anyone up for the job?" he asked, the evil smirk still on his face.

However, not a single hand was raised in the air. They were all cowering in fear. After all, they had all seen how Lucius had handled the guards. He had made fun of them without even trying... there was no chance that any of them would be able to defeat him.

"Great. Then, please say goodbye to your past king, as he will be exiled from the kingdom for trying to harm me when I first arrived."

"WHAT!"

"EXILED!?"

A few nobles began shouting. However, Lucius couldn’t care less, and a few words were able to calm everyone down.

"All those who complain will lose their status as nobles and will be stripped of all their riches."

Lucius then continued to explain how the kingdom would now function. After all, now that he was the king of a kingdom, it was extremely simple for him to make a ton of money. He would be able to have two sources of revenue.

"My first executive order is simple. I want to receive 70% of everything you earn every month. If you do not comply, I will personally visit your noble household and make sure that you can never defy my orders. Am I clear?"

Lucius couldn’t care less if it was not a democracy. He was a dictator, and everyone who would not follow his lead would suffer under his hands.

His strategy seemed effective, as not a single noble even tried to say anything. They all knew that the words of the king would never change.

"Anyway, enough of this heavy atmosphere. Please prepare a marriage for me and my two beautiful women!" Lucius announced with a big smile on his face as he clapped his hands.

He tightened his hold on Anna and Alicia’s waists as they got even closer to him, hugging him from both sides.

All of the nobles were shocked by the sight, and what they saw next made them lose their minds.

Lucius kissed the two of them on the mouth without any hesitation, and when he did so, one noble raised his hand high with a frown on his face.

"How dare you steal Alicia away from me, you disgusting human?"

The noble who spoke up seemed to be in love with Alicia, which made Lucius’s smile grow bigger and bigger.

He was happy that a noble was finally showing some resistance, as he could now finally make an example out of someone. The previous king was humiliated in private, and only he knew about it. However, it was time to show everyone what would happen when they defied the king’s orders.

"What do you want about it?"

"I want to duel you for her hand! If I win, she will become mine!" The noble threw his glove on the ground as a way to offer a duel.

Lucius just smiled as he let go of Anna and Alicia, grabbing the glove without any hesitation. There was no way that this feeble-looking elf would be able to do anything to him.

"I accept your duel."

Alicia’s eyes widened as she got closer to Lucius and whispered in his ear, "Please don’t lose to this loser... I don’t want to leave you."

Lucius smirked as he looked into the eyes of the elf, who had heard that whisper very clearly.

Lucius caressed her back and gave her a kiss. "Don’t worry, I’ll show everyone what happens when they try to lay their eyes on the king’s women!"

Alicia looked excited and very confident in Lucius’s victory. She couldn’t wait to see him fight for her.

One hour later, every single noble household had gathered in the Colosseum, most of the stands filled as Lucius and the arrogant noble from earlier entered the fighting area. The noble, Louis, was armed to the teeth. He had armor that covered all of his vital spots, a long sword, and a shield.

As for Lucius, he had nothing. He would only need his fists to win this fight.
