I Married My Ex's Billionaire Father -
Chapter 64: Revenge Plan
Chapter 64: Revenge Plan
The news of Levi and Lyse’s marriage was still sending shockwaves through Sutton and every one around her felt the sting of her anger.
Her initial rage had slowly morphed into a cold, calculated determination to sabotage their happiness. The thought of Lyse, the woman who had stolen the man who was meant to be her’s, thriving in the world that she was supposed to be dominating was unbearable.
Everytime she recalled that the silly brat was going to be called Mrs Van Doren henceforth, and would be afforded all the respect and privileges that came with being Levi’s wife, her blood boiled.
Sutton’s first target was Lyse’s choice to compete in the upcoming fashion competition. She knew that winning the competition would solidify Lyse’s position in the industry and further humiliate her. She unfortunately could not trust that the dummy Brooke would be able to win and kick Lyse of the winners circle, so she would have to do it herself.
The only thing that gave her any joy was the thought of Lyse’s downfall, it was the only thing on her mind so she began to orchestrate her plan. She contacted a few influential members of the judging panel that she knew, subtly hinting at Levi’s past indiscretions and Lyse’s alleged lack of talent.
She carefully crafted a narrative that painted Lyse as a gold-digger who had manipulated Levi into marriage and buying her way into any position she fancied.
While she worked on undermining Lyse’s professional aspirations, she turned her attention to their personal life. She thought about ways to rock their happy marriage and she settled on setting Levi up.
She remembered one of the women who had been linked to Levi a while ago. The model, Anya, a stunning woman with a fiery temper and a penchant for drama.
Anya had been deeply hurt by Levi’s sudden disinterest, the evidence of that had been plastered all over the covers of magazines and the interviews she gave anyone who was willing to listen. Sutton knew that with the right words, she could exploit that vulnerability. Anya would be the perfect tool for her plan.
Pretending to be a high end brand’s rep, Sutton reached out to Anya and set a date and location for a meeting. If Anya had known that it was Sutton reaching out to her, she would have not entertained her even for a single moment.
The low hum of conversation and clinking silverware filled the dimly lit classy restaurant that Sutton had chosen. She stood, poised and elegant as she scanned the room for Anya, the supermodel whose reputation preceded her. Her heart pounded with a mix of anticipation and trepidation. She had a plan, a daring one, and Anya was the key to its execution.
Finally, she spotted Anya seated at a secluded table, her striking features illuminated by the soft candlelight. Anya’s expression, however, was one of impatience, her gaze flicking towards the entrance while drumming on the table with her fingers as if she expected someone to arrive.
"Anya," Sutton greeted, her voice smooth and confident. "I didn’t think you would actually show up."
Anya’s eyebrows rose in surprise. "Sutton? What do you want?" Her tone was sharp, a stark contrast to her usually composed demeanor. "You know what? I’m not doing this with you."
She rose to her feet in order to leave and Sutton placed a hand on her arm to stop her then said, "Please hear me out." She took a deep breath. "I know that we have had our differences in the past, but I really need your help with something."
Anya glared at her, a hostile look in her eyes. "And why should I help you, after all you have done to me?"
Sutton hesitated, then plunged ahead. "Revenge."
Anya’s interest piqued and she tilted her head. "Revenge? On who?"
"Levi," Sutton replied, her voice laced with bitterness.
Anya’s eyes narrowed then she sat down, when Sutton sat opposite her, she said. "Hurry and get to the point of whatever you have to say, there is no guarantee that I will actually help you with whatever plan it is you have."
Sutton hid her smile, she knew that Anya was very interested even though she was trying to hide it. "He broke your heart, humiliated you publicly and married a nobody." She noted how Anya’s brows creased then smoothened immediately, "I think it is time to teach him a lesson"
Anya’s gaze hardened. "You speak as if this is coming from an altruistic angle, you don’t even like me."
Sutton straighten her shoulders and shrugged. "I must admit that I hated that you were dating Levi but I was only trying to warn you, you are such an accomplished and hardworking woman. You deserve more than he could ever give you."
Anya eyed her for a long minute while contemplating what Sutton was suggesting. She had to admit that she had been very upset to see that Levi had gotten married after swearing to her that he was not the marrying type, and to some nobody at that.
The thought of revenge was actually appealing to her even if she had to join forces with Sutton whom she disliked.
"what is your plan?" She asked at last.
This time Sutton did not hide her smile, she could taste victory.
"It’s simple really. I want you to run into him, let the paparazzi snap some compromising photos. Something that will make headlines, something that will destroy his image and make his little wife jealous."
Anya considered the proposal, a slow smile spreading across her lips. "This could be fun."
Sutton’s heart soared. She had done it. She had convinced Anya, one of the most sought-after woman in the world, to play a part in her revenge plot.
Over the next few days, Sutton meticulously planned the encounter. For the first time since Lyse announced on television that she was married to Levi, Sutton was not screaming at the staff and her poor husband. Instead there was a pep in her walk and a brightness in her eyes as she plotted.
