Chapter 238: Felicity’s Jealousy
Chapter 238: Felicity’s Jealousy
The plush hotel suite, crackled with an undercurrent of tension for Ken. He was impatiently waiting for results from the DNA test. He sat across from Bella, reviewing schedules and discussing upcoming events, his mind still preoccupied with the revelations of the previous night. The image of Maeve on the projector screen, her voice echoing through the ballroom, remained etched in his memory.
Suddenly, the suite door burst open, and Felicity stormed in, her face a mask of fury. Her eyes, usually bright and playful, were now narrowed and filled with venom. She stopped dead in her tracks, her gaze fixated on Bella.
"You!" she hissed, her voice dripping with contempt. "What are you doing here?"
Bella, her expression calm and collected, raised an eyebrow. "Hard to believe but I’m working, Felicity," she said, her voice even. "As usual."
"Don’t play innocent with me," Felicity spat, her voice rising in pitch. "I know what you are up to. You have always hated me, haven’t you? You’ve always tried to sabotage my relationship with Ken."
Bella sighed, her patience wearing thin. "Felicity, I have no interest in your relationship with Ken," she said, her voice laced with weariness. "I’m his manager. My job is to ensure his career runs smoothly."
"That’s a lie!" Felicity screamed, her face flushed crimson. "You are trying to push him towards that... that woman! Don’t think i don’t know that you want to ruin us!"
Ken, who had been watching the exchange with growing unease, finally intervened. "Felicity, that is enough," he said, his voice firm. "You are making a scene."
"A scene?" Felicity scoffed, her eyes flashing with anger. "I am making a scene? You’re the one who’s been sneaking around behind my back!"
She turned back to Bella, her eyes filled with venom. "You have always been jealous of me," she hissed. "You’ve always wanted Ken for yourself."
"Which is it?" Bella asked, her tone amused. "Do I want to push him to a woman or do i want him for myself?"
"Shut up! You bitch." Felicity screeched.
Bella, her expression unchanged, stood up. "I think I will leave you two to discuss this," she said, her voice calm and polite. "Ken, I’ll be in my room if you need me."
She walked towards the door, her movements graceful and composed. She paused at the threshold, her eyes meeting Ken’s. "Don’t let her get to you," she said softly, her voice laced with a hint of concern. Then, she turned and left the suite, leaving Ken and Felicity alone.
The silence that followed was thick with tension. Ken turned to Felicity, his expression a mixture of confusion and frustration. "What was that about?" he asked, his voice laced with exasperation.
Felicity’s eyes flashed with anger. "Don’t play dumb with me, Ken," she said, her voice sharp. "I know exactly what you’ve been doing."
"What I’ve been doing?" Ken echoed, his confusion growing. "What are you talking about?"
Felicity reached into her purse and pulled out a handful of photographs. She threw them at Ken, her eyes filled with venom. "These!" she screamed.
Ken picked up the photographs, his eyes widening in surprise. They were pictures of him with Lyse, taken at the party. He wondered where she had gotten the pictures from.
"Where did you get the pictures, Felicity," he said, his voice laced with confusion and a hint of anger. "Are you stalking me?"
"Don’t change the subject!" Felicity scoffed.
Ken tightened his fist as if in it was the patience he was trying so hard to keep a hold of. "Lyse is a friend, I am not cheating on you."
"A friend?" Felicity scoffed, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Is that what you call it? Sneaking around behind my back with another woman?"
"I wasn’t sneaking around," Ken said, his voice firm. "We were at a public event. There is nothing to hide."
"Oh, really?" Felicity sneered. "Then why didn’t you tell me about her? Why didn’t you introduce me?"
"Because there was no need," Ken said, his voice laced with frustration. "We’re friends, Felicity."
"That’s not how it looks," Felicity said, her voice trembling with rage. "You are cheating on me, Ken. I just know you are."
Ken sighed, his patience wearing thin. "Felicity, you’re being ridiculous," he said, his voice laced with exasperation. "I am in a relationship with you. I would never cheat on you."
"Then why are you spending so much time with her?" Felicity demanded, her voice rising in pitch. "Why were you out with her and not me?"
"Because she’s a good person," Ken said, his voice hardening. "Because she’s intelligent and kind and compassionate. Something you seem to know nothing about."
Felicity’s face flushed crimson. "How dare you!" she screamed, her voice filled with rage. "How dare you compare me to her?"
"Because you are acting like a spoiled brat," Ken said, his voice laced with disgust. "You’re jealous and insecure, and you’re letting it ruin our relationship."
Felicity’s eyes filled with tears. "I’m not jealous," she sobbed, her voice trembling. "I’m just... I’m just afraid of losing you."
"Then stop acting like you’re going to," Ken said, his voice firm. "Stop accusing me of things I haven’t done. Stop insulting my friends."
"I’m sorry," Felicity sobbed, her voice barely audible. "I didn’t mean to... I just... I love you, Ken."
"I love you too, Felicity," Ken said, his voice softening. "But you can’t keep doing this. I can’t deal with your jealousy, your accusations, your constant drama."
Felicity’s eyes widened, her tears freezing in place. "What are you saying?" she asked, her voice trembling.
"I’m saying we are done," Ken said, his voice firm and resolute. "I’m saying it’s over."
Felicity’s face crumpled, her tears flowing freely. "No," she sobbed, her voice filled with desperation. "Please, Ken, don’t do this. I’ll change. I promise."
"It’s too late, Felicity," Ken said, his voice laced with finality. "I have given you too many chances. I can’t do this anymore."
He stood up, his movements deliberate, his eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and resolve. "Please leave," he said, his voice barely audible.
Felicity stared at him, her eyes filled with disbelief. She couldn’t believe he was breaking up with her, that he was ending their relationship, over that nobody.
"Get out, Felicity," Ken said, his voice hardening.
Felicity, her face streaked with tears, turned and walked towards the door. She paused at the threshold, her eyes filled with a mixture of anger and despair. "You are going to regret this, Ken Stuart," she hissed, her voice laced with venom. "You will regret ever letting me go."
She slammed the door shut, leaving Ken alone in the suite, his heart heavy with a mixture of sadness and relief. He had made a difficult decision, but he knew it was the right one. He couldn’t live with Felicity’s jealousy, her accusations, her constant drama. He needed peace.
