Chapter 175: More Secured, More Loved

"They are beautiful, Levi," Lyse said when Levi handed her the bouquet, her voice filled with warmth.

"For my sunshine," he replied, his eyes twinkling.

He took her hand, his touch sending a shiver down her spine. "Shall we?" he asked, his voice a low rumble.

Lyse nodded, her hand slipping into his. He walked with her to the side of the car and after she was seated, he shut the door behind her before getting in beside her and the car instantly took off.

The restaurant Levi had chosen was a hidden gem, tucked away far in a quiet corner of the city where they were not likely to be noticed. Soft, amber light spilled from its windows, promising an intimate atmosphere. As they stepped inside, the gentle murmur of conversation and the tantalizing aroma of exotic spices enveloped them.

Lyse felt a flutter of excitement mingled with a touch of nervousness. This was it – their first official date. After all they had been through, all the near misses and heart-wrenching obstacles, they were finally here, together. She could feel tears fill her eyes from how happy she felt.

Levi, ever the gentleman, led her away from the seated talking people, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. "I made a reservation for us in that cozy alcove over there," he said, gesturing towards the secluded corner draped with sheer curtains in front of them.

When they got to their assigned table, Levi pulled out a seat for her and they settled into their seats while waiting for the waiter to come, a comfortable silence fell between them. It was not awkward; it was merely the comfortable silence of two people deeply connected, a silence that did not need to be burdened with unnecessary words. Their shared experiences and unspoken words did all the talking. Lyse traced the rim of her wine glass, a soft smile playing on her lips. "I still can’t believe that we are actually here," she murmured, her voice filled with wonder.

Levi reached across the table, his hand covering hers. "Me neither," he replied, his gaze locking with hers. "It feels... surreal, almost. Like a dream and i want to wake up from it."

Their journey to this point had been fraught with challenges. They had navigated treacherous waters, their love tested by circumstances that would have broken lesser souls. Yet, through it all, their bond had only grown stronger, forged in the fires of adversity.

The conversation flowed effortlessly, jumping from lighthearted banter to deeper, more meaningful discussions. They talked about their dreams, their fears, their hopes for the future. Lyse found herself opening up to Levi in a way she never had with anyone else. He listened intently, his eyes filled with understanding and genuine interest.

As the evening progressed, the restaurant faded into the background. It was just Levi and Lyse, two souls intertwined, lost in their own little world. They laughed, they shared stories, and they discovered new facets of each other’s personalities. Lyse learned about Levi’s passion for photography, his love for old jazz records, and his secret desire to travel the world. Levi, in turn, discovered Lyse’s hidden talent for drawing, her deep connection to nature, and her unwavering belief in the power of love.

With each passing moment, their connection deepened. It was not just physical attraction; it was a soul-deep resonance, a recognition of kindred spirits. They were two halves of a whole, finally reunited.

Over the scrumptious dinner, they talked about everything and nothing. They shared stories about their childhoods, their dreams, their fears. Lyse found herself drawn to Levi’s easygoing nature, his quick wit, his genuine interest in her life. He was a captivating storyteller, and she hung on to his every word.

As the evening wore on, the tension between them simmered, a low hum of anticipation. They held hands under the table, their fingers intertwining. Levi’s gaze lingered on her lips, and Lyse found herself mirroring his gaze, her own lips tingling with anticipation.

Finally, as they finished their dessert, Levi leaned across the table, his eyes searching hers. "Lyse," he began, his voice husky, "I know that I promised to take things slow, but..."

He leaned in closer, his breath fanning her face. "I really don’t think that I can stay away from you any longer."

He kissed her then, right there in the restaurant. It was a slow, deliberate kiss that stole her breath away. It was a kiss filled with longing, with a simmering passion that threatened to ignite. Lyse responded with equal fervor, her hands reaching up to frame his face.

The kiss deepened, their tongues dueling, their bodies pressed together. Levi tasted of wine and spice, and Lyse felt a dizzying sensation, a feeling of falling, of losing herself in the moment.

They pulled back, their foreheads touching, their breaths mingling. "That," Levi whispered, his voice rough with desire, "was incredible."

Lyse smiled, her eyes sparkling. "Yes, it was."

He leaned back, his eyes filled with a mixture of desire and tenderness. "I really want to take you home, and take you to my bed Lyse. But I also want to respect your boundaries, I meant it when I said that i would take my time."

Lyse felt a blush creeping up her neck. "What if i don’t want you to take it slow?" She dared him, her eyes trapping him.

He grinned, his eyes gleaming. "Good girl."

He beckoned to the waiter who seemed to appear out of think air and after he had settled the bill, he helped her out and the they walked out of the restaurant to the car.

As they were driven, air between them was thick with unspoken promises. Both of them nervous about what lay ahead for them. As they got closer to the city, Lyse breath hitched and she stared at the side of Levi’s face, noticing with satisfaction his clenched jaw.

She was glad to know that he was tense about returning to the penthouse. Levi with his world of experience and refinement sometimes made her feel like an awkward schoolgirl. But the sight not him looking anxious eased her own anxiety.

The rest of the drive back to the penthouse apartment was filled with comfortable silence, punctuated by shared smiles and lingering, hungry glances. When they arrived, Levi came down and helped her down then caged her hips with his huge hands. "I had a wonderful time tonight, Lyse," he said, his voice soft.

Lyse’s heart fluttered. "Me too, Levi," she replied, her eyes mirroring his.

Levi leaned in, his breath warm against her cheek. He hesitated for a moment, as if unsure. Then he leaned back and smiled. Together they walked into the elevator where he pulled her back against his front and they stood together until the elevator came to a stop at the top.

The apartment was dimly lit, casting long shadows across the room, it’s fragrance wafting around the room. Lyse turned to face Levi, her eyes shining in the soft light. She reached out, her fingers tracing the contours of his face. "I have waited so long for this, I thought that I would never have it." she whispered, her voice filled with emotion.

Levi’s eyes darkened with need and he grabbed her fingers in his mouth, sucking as Lyse caught a surprised breath.

Lyse stood on tiptoe, her hand moving to the back of his neck. She pulled him closer, her lips brushing against his. It was a tentative kiss, a whisper of a touch, but it spoke volumes.

Levi responded instantly, his arms wrapping around her waist, pulling her closer. His kiss deepened, becoming more passionate, more urgent. It was a kiss that spoke of pent-up emotions, of longing, of a love that had finally found its way.

When they finally broke apart, breathless and flushed, Lyse took his hand. "Come with me," she whispered, her voice husky with desire.

Levi didn’t hesitate. He followed her across to her room, his heart pounding in his chest. As they reached her door, Levi stopped her.

"Are you sure?" He asked. "I want you so much it hurts. But I want to be very sure that you want it too." His voice earnest and tender.

Lyse cupped his face in her hands, her thumbs gently caressing his cheeks. "I want you too Levi," she murmured, her voice thick with emotion. "More than you could ever know."

It touched her that despite how he felt, she could see the desperation in his eyes. The fact that Levi wanted to consider her and put her feelings first, made her feel more secured, more loved.

This time, leaned in, his lips meeting hers once again. This time, the kiss was slow, deliberate, filled with tenderness and unspoken promises. It was a kiss that sealed their fate, a kiss that marked the beginning of a new Chapter in their lives. The. He swept her up in his arms and carried her into the bedroom without any hesitation.
