I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 39: Enova Level Four

Chapter 39: Enova Level Four

Yuri had no idea about Tuss’s plans. Right now, she felt like she was in some sort of enchanting state. She couldn’t quite describe it. All she knew was that she felt warm all over, especially within the Ocean of Awareness. It was a mix of tingly, ticklish, and slightly sour, like a mild pain of growth.

Her consciousness seemed to have entered a little universe, where she controlled everything. Whether she wanted to go fishing in the sea or fly with the birds, all would come true if she wished for it.

The feeling was free, exhilarating, and even reckless.

It was too incredible to believe.

Yuri felt like she had been in this place for a long time, years, or even decades.

Yet it also felt like a brief moment.

When she opened her eyes, she was still inside the mecha.

"Have you figured it out?" Tuss asked, his voice as charming and sexy as ever.

Yuri blinked her eyes, looking a bit dazed, "How long has it been?"

"A day and a night. If you didn’t wake up soon, I was going to shake you awake." Tuss let out a sigh of relief. A day and a night without any movement. If not for the rise and fall of her chest and her breathing, he would have lost his cool.

"Only a day and a night? I thought a lifetime had passed." Yuri got up and stretched.

She felt different immediately.

"My Enova has reached level four," Yuri exclaimed in surprise. She looked at her Ocean of Awareness again and was even more surprised. "My Ocean of Awareness has expanded."

Tuss was also happy for her. "Didn’t expect the starstone to have this effect. I just wonder if your beta tier has also increased."

"Who cares about the tier? As long as Enova and psychic power get stronger, that’s enough," Yuri said, throwing the starstone to Tuss, "You want to try it?"

"I wish," Tuss regretfully said, "But I can’t even release mental threads."

Tuss tossed the starstone back to Yuri. "Try to see if it still works for you."

Yuri’s mental threads went around the starstone and came out. She shook her head, "No use. I guess each person can only use it once. And I feel its life is limited. If used too much, it will be like a depleted energy stone."

Tuss understood. "No wonder even after having the starstone for a year, the Empire has only added two SS-tier betas, and a few S-tiers."

"It’s too powerful, so it’s only reasonable that it has restrictions." Yuri was not surprised at this.

Tuss agreed, "Right."

Yuri drank two bottles of Nutrient Fluids and asked satisfyingly, "Where are we going now?"

"Transfer station. We need to buy a batch of energy stones; we’re running out. After purchasing energy stones, we continue to Planet Alpha." Here, Tuss paused, looking at her seriously. "Yuri, I plan to give this starstone to the Alliance."

"Then give it," Yuri said indifferently, "Having it is a big hassle anyway."

Tuss wasn’t surprised by her reaction but still said, "By giving away the starstone, your dreams of striking it rich will be shattered."

Yuri’s face changed instantly, she retorted angrily, "No reward? Does the Alliance plan to freeload?"

Tuss explained, "There will be a reward, but it won’t be much. What do you want?"

"Anything will do?" Yuri showed interest.

"Well, not exactly anything. You suggest first, then I’ll negotiate with them," Tuss replied.

Holding her chin thoughtfully, Yuri finally decided, "Then I want a mansion. The location should be better than your father’s place, and it has to be bigger."

Tuss was confused.

Yuri explained earnestly, "We were kicked out of your dad’s house by your stepmom. If we go back, we definitely can’t live there with all those judgmental stares. If we do go back, it has to be to a better place."

Tuss said, "We don’t have to go that far, anywhere is fine. I’m not fussy." He was slightly annoyed by her frequent references to his dad’s house.

Yuri glanced at him, "No, I want us to show off together and make them feel less significant."

Tuss was caught off guard, "I didn’t realize you were so ambitious."

Yuri coughed pretentiously and replied, "That’s because we have the means to prove ourselves now."

Tuss agreed, though hesitantly, "Alright."

The issue with the starstone was major news. Yuri and Tuss became the talk of the town. When they arrived at the transfer station, they had a minor disagreement about who would go to purchase the energy stones.

"You’re tall and strong, with a striking face. You’ll definitely be recognized," Yuri argued.

"Pretty people like you stand out," Tuss replied. His voice was so casual that it was difficult to tell he was praising her.

Yuri’s mouth twitched into a smile, but she quickly hid her delight, "I can disguise myself, you can’t."

Tuss studied her, "And how would you do that?"

"Just watch," Yuri responded. The next moment, she formed a pair of scissors out of metal and chopped off her long hair that flowed to her waist, leaving it just past her ears.

Tuss grabbed her cut hair, shocked, "Why would you do that?"

"I felt like it. Not everything needs a reason," Yuri responded casually, then instructed him, "Turn around, I need to change."

Tuss turned away in confusion. It wasn’t until he heard the sound of clothes rustling that he realized what was happening and felt his face heat up.

"I’m ready," Yuri announced.

Tuss turned back around to see that the sweet, demure girl from just a few minutes ago had transformed into a fierce, stylish lady with vibrant red lips.

Seeing her fair skin glowing, Tuss felt his nose getting warm. He quickly turned away, protesting, "You’re showing too much skin."

"Not at all, this is just right." Yuri replied, putting on a pair of sunglasses. She opened the mecha and said, "Wait for me here, I’ll be back shortly."

As soon as Yuri was out of sight, Tuss felt like his emotions were running wild.

Tuss quickly wiped the blood from under his nose with a tissue, making sure to get rid of any evidence. He then found a bag and carefully collected the long strands of hair from the floor. Lastly, he turned on the mecha’s ventilation system to push out the strong, woody scent of pheromones that filled the interior.

Not too far away, a man who was planning to investigate was hit by the powerful pheromone. His body tightened up, and he felt a pang in his cells.

He shot a frustrated look at his partner, saying, "I told you it wasn’t him, but you didn’t believe me. You were the one who wanted to investigate. Happy now?"

"If I hadn’t checked, how would I know? If I missed the starstone right under my nose, I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night," his partner argued.

"Some people say that Tuss’s alpha level isn’t even a ’D’. Such a strong pheromone is a clear sign of a high-ranking alpha. Could it really be him?" another person chimed in.

"Let’s forget about the guy not being Tuss for a moment, even the woman doesn’t match the one in the videos. Ah, that fiery figure... enticing."

"Enough, quit daydreaming. Once we have the starstone, you can have your pick of women."

"But I want the one we just saw. Her skin is so soft, even a light touch would leave marks. If I could just..."

"Enough already."

.....

Yuri successfully bought the energy stones and quickly returned to the mecha.

"Our names will show up on the purchase records even though I used a vending machine. If someone is determined enough to investigate, they could track us here. We need to move fast," Yuri warned.

Tuss had already started up the mecha and responded, "Hold on tight."

The mecha quickly took off, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

Inside the energy stone shop, the shopkeeper was reviewing the day’s sales to restock the inventory. He hadn’t paid much attention to the directive to be on the lookout for the names ’Tuss’ and ’Yuri.’

The universe was huge; the chances of them appearing in his shop were as likely as a pie dropping from the sky.

The shopkeeper glanced casually at the name of the buyer, then froze. He rubbed his eyes in disbelief, looked again, and the name was still there: Yuri Cheng, genetic code...

With a shaky hand, he dialed his supervisor’s number. As soon as the call went through, he skipped the small talk and blurted out, "Yuri Cheng was here ten minutes ago, buying energy stones."
