I Married A Degraded Alpha
Chapter 35: Keep it Down

Chapter 35: Keep it Down

Tuss had two quantum guns in hand, and with a fluid motion, tossed one to Yuri. His casual act left Ender, Daleks, and Kilana wide-eyed with surprise.

They knew Tuss well enough, and there could only be one reason for his action: In his eyes, Yuri was stronger than the three of them.

They almost couldn’t believe what they saw, as they thought Yuri was simply an Omega with a severed arm.

They preferred to believe that Tuss was blinded by love rather than admit that they were inferior to Yuri.

Unaware of what the three people were thinking, Yuri accepted the quantum gun. She had seen a pirate use one, so it wasn’t entirely new to her.

However, holding a high-tech weapon from the galaxy for the first time brought a gleam to her eyes.

Tuss and Yuri huddled near the entrance of the cave, firing shot after shot. Their bullets accurately struck the fatal spots of the insectoids.

While Daleks and the others couldn’t see what was happening outside, the terrifying shrieks of the insectoids gave them a pretty good idea.

They comforted themselves, thinking, perhaps Yuri is just more accurate with her gunshots and not necessarily stronger than us in every way.

Everyone else had climbed up, leaving Yuri, Tuss and the other three people by the entrance of the cave.

"We seem to be extras here. Let’s go," suggested Ender.

"Is Yuri’s arm okay?" Kilana asked worriedly. After all, climbing required more arm strength than leg strength.

On hearing Kilana’s words, Yuri turned around and smiled, saying, "I’m totally fine, you guys go ahead."

As soon as the three people left, Yuri and Tuss exchanged glances. Yuri said, "There are so many metal genesis here. It would be a pity to give them up."

"But those are level three insectoids. If we run out of quantum gun energy, it’ll be tough to get away," Tuss was equally tempted but more practical, not wanting Yuri to risk it.

Yuri, filled with regret, activated her Enova, darting around underground, wishing she could take all the metal genesises with her.

Tuss was also absorbing the metal genesises. Yuri left the ones nearby for him, and she went further to collect. He couldn’t let her kindness go to waste.

Above ground, Daleks and the other two people had been watching the entrance of the cave anxiously.

"Why aren’t they coming up yet?" Daleks had asked three times.

Ender also started to worry, "We wait five more minutes. If they still haven’t come up, I’m going down to find them."

"Should we call out to them?" suggested Kilana.

"Let’s all shout together, louder," Delamak proposed.

They all agreed.

"Tuss––"

"Yuri––"

Their deafening calls echoed in the cave.

Yuri instinctively covered her ears, her face darkened with a bit pain, "Let’s go up."

Tuss held back his laughter. Although their method was a bit painful on the ears, it worked, and she was finally willing to go up.

With irritation in her heart, Yuri let her Enova run wild, freely roaming underground. She cleared out all the metal genesis wherever she went.

Both Tuss and Yuri climbed up to the entrance. The shouting from above was still ongoing, buzzing in Yuri’s ears. She felt if this continued, she’d soon be deaf.

She moved quickly, darting up like a fish in water, a sight that left Tuss awestruck.

"Stop yelling," Yuri commanded, irritation lacing her voice with an infusion of psychic power.

Everyone at the entrance felt a swirl in their ears and brains, and the area fell eerily silent.

"Yuri’s energy is really strong," Daleks mumbled.

Kilana agreed, nodding her head, "Yes, it’s really strong."

Nimbly, Yuri flipped herself out of the hole. With a stern look on her face, she scanned the crowd before heading straight for the mecha.

Despite appearing as a seemingly soft girl, everyone inexplicably felt a sense of awe and remained silent.

At this moment, Tuss also arrived at the surface and, looking at the stupefied crowd, asked curiously, "What happened?"

"Tuz, did you upset Yuri?" There was a hint of accusation in Dalek’s eyes as he looked at Tuss.

Tuss only sighed, feeling unfairly blamed.

"Did anyone contact the academy?" Tuss quickly changed the subject.

"As soon as we got up, we did. They’re on their way," a student responded.

"Not just the teachers, but the military are also coming. They’ve heard that there’s a large amount of metal here that can block signals," another student chimed in.

Tuss merely grunted in response, casting a glance at Yuri. With the arrival of the military, Yuri’s chances of gathering more metal genesis afterwards were now slim.

Yuri was indeed a bit disappointed. However, it was minor, as she’d already collected a decent amount of metal genesis. Leaving the rest didn’t pain her too much.

Upon entering the mecha, Yuri immediately opened the interstellarnet. Next semester, she was heading back to university. She had yet to finish her primary courses and needed to speed up her progress.

The teachers and military arrived quickly, relieved to find most students unharmed.

"All the planets in this star system have been investigated. The highest level of insectoids found was only level two, but we don’t know if there were more underground."

"Signals were blocked, so it’s understandable that they were undetectable. Luckily, casualties are minimal. I don’t know how we would’ve explained it to the Alliance and the parents otherwise."

"Casualties are inevitable. Students who apply to military schools should be prepared for such risks."

"Even so, they’re still students, not soldiers. It’s not the same."

After assessing the students’ conditions, the teachers approached Tuss.

Tuss had served as the first chair for half a year, and there wasn’t a teacher at Military Academy No. 1 who didn’t know him. They had all lamented when his legs were completely broken and his alpha tier kept dropping. Now, seeing him again, they wore surprised expressions.

"You’ve done well," a teacher said, patting Tuss’s shoulder. "Go back to class next semester."

Tuss simply grunted in agreement.

One by one, the students boarded the starship.

"Aren’t you coming back to Planet Alpha with us?" Daleks asked with a disappointed look.

Tuss shook his head, resolute in his decision.

"Why not? You haven’t been to class for a term, you need to catch up, don’t you?" Ender chimed in, perplexed.

"I’ll catch up on the interstellarnet," Tuss replied.

"And what about Yuri? She needs to catch up on her studies too, doesn’t she?" Ender glanced at the mecha beside them.

"The teacher gave us access. We can take any class we want online," Tuss explained, this was a reward for them having found over a thousand students. Of course, there were other rewards as well, like astracredits.

Access to all courses at Military Academy No. 1 was an opportunity astracredits could not buy, regardless of how many astracredits one had.

Upon hearing this, Delamak’s gaze turned profound. Not to be outdone, he retorted, "You better study well then. I won’t just hand over first chair to you just because you saved me."

Tuss looked at him calmly, "Cherish your current first place, because it’s about to become a thing of the past."

A vibe of competition spread, and the students grew quiet, their eyes filled with anticipation of a good show.

Suddenly, someone asked, "Didn’t they forget someone?"

"Who?"

"The current first chair, Thanos. Delamak is first in academics, but Thanos is first in combat."

"No worries, Tuss is first in both."

"That’s not certain. Rumor has it his alpha tier has dropped to D. Thanos is S-tier, his pheromones alone could immobilize him."

"Shush, keep it down."
