I Married A Degraded Alpha -
Chapter 209: Back to The Start
Chapter 209: Back to The Start
The soldiers ran at full speed, but the snowball raced faster. They watched, eyes wide, as the giant snowball hurtled towards the boy.
Thump.
The snowball hit the boy squarely.
Snowflakes fluttered down. Standing still, the boy had a grin on his face. "It’s my turn now, sis," he said.
Then, the boy dashed toward his sister, tackling her into the snowy ground. They embraced, rolling down the slope together. They hadn’t rolled far before they became a snowball themselves. It grew bigger and bigger, completely enclosing the two children—
The soldiers, still reeling from the sight of the boy being struck, saw this and raced after the massive snowball. Whose wild kids are these?
Yet again, the soldiers couldn’t catch up with the snowball. When it finally came to a stop, the two kids inside each punched their way out and crawled from within.
"That was so much fun! Let’s do it again!" the girl giggled.
The boy agreed, "Let’s race up and see who gets there first. On your marks, get set, go!"
"Halt!" the soldiers shouted loudly.
The children didn’t move.
Almost instinctively, a soldier blew his whistle, only realizing after the fact that the kids weren’t soldiers and wouldn’t understand the command.
But, to their surprise, the children halted at the sound of the whistle.
And it wasn’t just those two - all the other children stopped their play when they heard the whistle too.
Watching this, the soldier blew two more times, signaling them to assemble.
Immediately, several kids rushed over, lining up neatly in front of them, just as orderly as any troops.
"One."
"Two."
"Three."
...
"Eight."
"Nine."
"Reporting, sir, everyone is present and accounted for," they said.
The soldiers watched this scene in disbelief. Wow, they even knew how to count off.
"Very good, well done, at ease," a soldier shouted.
In unison, the nine children moved into the ’at ease’ position, standing with their legs apart and hands behind their backs.
Looking at the nine faces, the soldiers guessed their identities.
Yuri and Tuss had only stayed on Planet 4581 for just over a month before their entire family embarked on their journey back to Planet Alpha.
This time, Yuri and Tuss were returning to Planet Alpha for the first time after being away for eight years.
As for Tuss’s punishment of not leaving the 458 Defense Line for ten years, it had been revoked after he and Yuri vanquished the level-nine insectoids.
This time, Yuri and Tuss would have a year-long break, as would their soldiers. For the next year, barring any sudden conflicts, everyone from their 4581 unit would be on paid leave.
Eight years had passed, but Planet Alpha was as bustling as ever. Yuri and Tuss, along with the children, disembarked from the warship, planning to take them to the largest mall on Planet Alpha to buy essentials.
Since they were little, Yuri’s nine children had either lived on a spaceship or on uninhabited planets along the frontier. Occasionally, they’d go to planets within the border to gather supplies, but these places weren’t nearly as bustling as Planet Alpha.
So, when they arrived at Planet Alpha, the children’s eyes were wide with awe, their mouths chattering non-stop.
"Yunki, there are so many people."
"So many levs."
"So many buildings. They’re so tall and pretty."
"Why do they keep staring at us?"
"Try to control your expressions. They might think we’re country bumpkins who just entered the city."
"What’s a country bumpkin?"
"It’s not a nice term. Don’t use it."
"More and more people are crowding around us. They’re going to block the road."
"Yunki, why are they looking at us and laughing? I don’t like it."
The girl’s voice wobbled, on the verge of tears. Yunki instantly furrowed his brows, glaring coldly at the spectators. "You’re blocking the road. Move aside," he commanded.
As soon as Yunki spoke up, his younger brothers chimed in. "Why do you keep staring at us? Didn’t your parents teach you that it’s impolite to stare?"
"Why are you laughing? Uncle Ender said it’s wrong to laugh at others."
These comments made the onlookers laugh even more.
Their reactions further enraged Yunki. He adopted an offensive stance. "If you don’t move aside, I won’t be so polite," he threatened.
Yuri and Tuss shared a glance before nudging each other. "Go handle it before your son injures someone," they warned.
With a sigh, Tuss remarked, "They’ve had limited interaction with people. They can’t even differentiate between malice and kindness."
"That’s why we’re bringing them back to school this time. They need to live like normal children." Yuri’s gaze swept over the children’s faces, "But it’s lovely how they love and protect each other."
"Yuri, your kids are adorable," someone from the crowd called out.
Being complimented on her children brought more joy to Yuri than being praised herself. She laughed and said, "Just because they’re cute doesn’t mean you can tease them. They’re young and easily provoked. If they react, they won’t hold back, and you’ll be the ones suffering."
The crowd gasped in surprise. Were they that tough?
"We can’t all be weaker than them, right?" someone questioned.
Yuri looked at the speaker, motioning for him to step forward.
The young man felt a shiver run down his spine under Yuri’s gaze. He obediently stepped out.
"B-tier alpha?" Yuri asked.
The man expressed his surprise, "You can tell just by looking?"
Ignoring his confusion, Yuri turned to Yunki, "Go and spar with him. But be careful, don’t hurt him."
Yunki responded with a serious face, "Yes."
Feeling insulted, the young man laughed bitterly. "Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you," he reassured Yunki.
Yunki never underestimated his opponent, always taking the initiative to attack. Given his smaller stature, he aimed for the young man’s lower body.
As soon as Yunki made his move, the young man’s expression changed. The speed was astounding.
Initially, he only intended to use five percent of his strength, but now he found that even at full strength, he might not be able to win.
Tuss glanced at the numerous cameras, then at Yuri. "Why did you let Yunki fight this match?"
"We’re preparing them for school. Demonstrating their strength will prevent a lot of trouble." Like parents warning their children not to fight with Yunki.
Tuss contemplated and suggested, "How about letting the younger ones show their skills too?"
Yuri didn’t decline, "We’ll find an opportunity next time."
Before they could finish their conversation, a snapping sound echoed from the fight.
"Yunki, didn’t I tell you not to hurt anyone?" Yuri frowned.
Yunki’s small face filled with confusion, "I did hold back. Who knew he would be so weak."
The crowd felt implied insult. Most of them were weaker than the young man. Being called weak by a six or seven-year-old child... how can we live with the shame?
The young man was even more humiliated, wishing he could find a hole to crawl into.
His dignity was utterly shattered.
"People are different from insectoids. You can’t use the same force you’d use on insectoids on humans," Yuri warned solemnly.
The crowd’s eyes widened. The boy fought insectoids at such a young age?
"Yes, Mom, I’ll be careful next time." Yunki apologized sincerely.
"When we get back, we’ll practice controlling your strength. Take your siblings with you," Yuri instructed.
"Alright, Mom." Yunki scrutinized Yuri’s face to see if she was angry before turning to the young man to apologize. "I’m sorry, sir. I didn’t control my strength well. Don’t worry, I’ll pay for your medical bills."
The young man, filled with humiliation, replied, "No need. I lost because my skills weren’t as good, not your fault."
At this point, Tuss spoke up, "I’ll help set your bone. Then you’ll need to lie in the medical chamber and wait for the doctor to arrive."
The young man accepted, "Thank you for your help."
With Yuri’s permission, the spectators uploaded the video onto the interstellarnet. Within a few hours, everyone across the interstellarnet knew that Yuri’s family had returned to Planet Alpha, and they remembered their eldest son with exceptional strength.
